- Aline Mosby was born on July 27, 1922 in Missoula, Montana, USA. She died on August 7, 1998 in Escondido, California, USA.
- Former correspondent for United Press International who reported from Hollywood, Paris, Beijing and points between for more than 50 years.
- Awarded the 1980 International Bernard J. Cabanes Prize for journalism for her reporting from China. Miss Mosby, who spent 14 months in China in 1979-80, was one of the first American reporters allowed to work in Peking since 1948.
- Was one of the first women assigned to cover the Kremlin and, later, Beijing. While stationed in Moscow in 1959 she interviewed a self-exiled Lee Harvey Oswald, who described his upbringing and his embrace of Marx's socialism. She also interviewed Francis Gary Powers (Gary Powers), the downed U-2 pilot.
- Earlier in her career she reported Hollywood gossip, among other things. Her Hollywood column was credited with helping to propel Marilyn Monroe to stardom.
