The British miniseries Baby Reindeer became a surprise hit for Netflix. It is a story based on real events by the screenwriter and showrunner of the project, Richard Gadd. Unsuccessful comedian Donny, who temporarily works in a bar, becomes the victim of a stalker. The woman destroys his personal life and interferes with his career, but unwittingly helps Donny deal with the monstrous psychological traumas of the past.
Baby Reindeer became the most popular series on Netflix in April – at first there was little attention to the show with not the most famous actors, but in the second week, views on streaming increased by 408%.
In early May, however, Baby Reindeer was knocked off the top spot on Netflix by another drama that fans claim did not deserve it.

Jeff Daniels as eternally glum police chief Del Harris returns for a widening murder conspiracy in the second-season trailer for American Rust: Broken Justice, which dropped Monday.
After the sudden, mysterious death of a former police officer in Pennsylvania’s rust belt in the rookie season is not quite solved by Harris, to say the least, the second-season trailer for American Rust: Broken Justice returns to the fictional town of Buell, where a compromised Del and Grace Poe (Maura Tierney) try to rebuild their lives.
That’s until the trailer reveals a series of unrelated murders that may add up to a much larger conspiracy closing in on a tight-knit town. “We never really do move on, do we?” Del questions at one point.
The fateful wrench from the first-season finale cover-up surfaces, as does Del fretting over how to protect the murder suspect and son of his sometimes girlfriend Grace.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for “Admirals Fund,” the series finale of “Billions,” now streaming on Paramount+.
“Billions” ends where it began. At the close of “Admirals Fund,” the series finale of the Showtime drama series, Bobby Axelrod is scheming once again to make a new fortune with his merry band of alpha-male traders, who are revved up by his leadership to kill in the name of capitalism.
The closing segment of “Billions” was unabashedly designed to appeal to fans of the sudsy drama, which turns on the crazier-than-fiction tales of hedge fund managers and traders. Axelrod, played with gusto until the final frame by Damian Lewis, winds up on top. His most recent foil, rival trader/investor Michael Prince (Corey Stoll), has been defeated, publicly humiliated — although he is destined to rise again. “As it has ever been for men like you over the centuries,” Prince’s loyal...

[This story contains spoilers from the series finale of Billions, “Admirals Fund.”]
“Bobbie Sue took the money and run” is not exactly the same as saying “Bobby and Chuck took the money and run,” though “Sue” is not a bad nickname for the crusading lawyer played for seven seasons by Paul Giamatti. Still, the vibes are very much on point as Steve Miller Band’s “Take the Money and Run” played viewers out in the opening and closing moments of the series finale of Billions, which ended a seven-season run with one last signature heist and one last big score for basically every single character — everyone, except for late-game antagonist Mike Prince (Corey Stoll).
As often is the case with Billions, the final episode, “Admirals Fund,” pulls the curtain back on events from previous episodes, only to reveal that they did not play out exactly as the audience thought. It looked like the holy alliance of Chuck Rhodes (Giamatti...

On an otherwise unassuming Monday in February, Showtime issued a press release that, sans context, appeared to be business as usual. The cable channel/streaming service announced development plans for two of its most popular series: “Dexter,” the mid-aughts serial killer thriller, was exploring up to three new iterations, and “Billions,” the ongoing financial drama starring Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis, was developing four spinoffs, including two titled “Millions” and “Trillions.”
Reactions were swift and merciless.
While plenty of eyes rolled in “Dexter’s” direction, a pervading sense of inevitability won out. Why wouldn’t Showtime extend a show that, despite complaints the original ran too long already, led to a revival that became “the most-watched series in Showtime history. Suits are physically incapable of leaving money on the table, so sure, fine, make “Teen Dexter” (actual working title: “Dexter: Origins”) and “Dexter Jr.” (aka “Dexter: New Blood” Season 2).
But why,...

Everything with a beginning has an end, and it is here for Billions.
After eight years, seven seasons, and eighty-four episodes, it feels surreal that we won't be treated to the high-value drama the show offers the way it does.
As the Billions series finale approaches, it doesn't seem like the stakes are high enough to warrant investing in a series finale with an outcome of a particular nature.
Whatever way the creatives decide to wrap up the story will not be that significant.
So, where did the rain start beating this once red-hot show?
We must circle back to the series premiere to assess fairly.
When many shows premiere, one can almost tell after the pilot what the endgame will be. Even if they don't know what will happen, there is a rough idea about how events should play out.
Very few shows are not tied to this logic,...

Have you been enjoying Fox's latest reality competition, Snake Oil?
The David Spade-hosted series has been testing people's ability to call a sham and scam out when they see and hear it.
The ability to make some money off of the ordeal for the contestants with the assistance of celebrity guests adds an extra layer of entertainment and fun to the series.
TV Fanatic scored an exclusive sneak peek at tonight's new episode, and if we had one word to describe what's transpiring, it's "ruthless!"
On Snake Oil, contestants have the, at times, shockingly difficult task of figuring out which business ventures are real and which are a scam.
Some very convincing entrepreneurs present two contestants with their business plans and products.
And it's up to the contestants to determine which entrepreneurs are pitching real ideas versus fake ones.
Or are otherwise known as "snake oil salesmen."
Fortunately, the...

“Let’s Make a Deal” host Wayne Brady came out earlier this week as pansexual.
The 51-year-old, who is also known for “Whose Line Is It Anyway” and “The Masked Singer” (which he won in Season 2), made the announcement on Monday via People Magazine.
“I am pansexual,” Brady declared, adding, “Bisexual — with an open mind!”
According to GLAAD, pansexuality falls under the bisexuality umbrella. The LGBTQ+ advocacy organization defines pansexual as “an adjective used to describe a person who has the capacity to form enduring physical, romantic, and/ or emotional attractions to any person, regardless of gender identity.”
A pansexual individual’s sexuality may evolve over time. Brady was formerly married to Mandie Taketa, and the two share a daughter, Maile. He said to People he has been attracted to men in the past, but has never dated one.
Pansexual individuals are sometimes non-binary, but the two are not mutually exclusive.

We’ll kick things off with a fresh take on an old favorite. Here’s everything you should watch in theaters, plus more on Prime Video, Hulu,...

Billions fans are reacting to a surprise announcement regarding future episodes.
In October 2021, it was revealed that the show’s lead star, Damian Lewis, would leave the show after five seasons.
Lewis, who plays Bobby “Axe” Axelrod on the Showtime series, said he would “miss the Billions family”, and thanked the creators, Brian Koppelman and David Levien. He was absent from season six of the series.
The actor’s decison came after the death of his wife, Peaky Blinders star Helen McCrory, who died of cancer, aged 52, in April 2021.
Lewis, however, has announced that he will return to the show in season seven for six of its 12 episodes.

Starz has added seven more to the cast of its forthcoming drama, “The Venery of Samantha Bird,” including Finn Jones, Francesca Reale, Embeth Davidtz, Brenda Strong, Adam Faison, Tyrone Marshall Brown and Shalini Bathina.
The new batch of series regulars joins previously announced star Katherine Langford, who will portray the show’s titular character.
The eight-episode drama follows Samantha Bird (Langford) who, while visiting family in New England, reconnects with her childhood sweetheart and falls headlong into a seemingly perfect storybook romance. But the couple’s picture-perfect love story isn’t as sweet as it seems on the surface.
Jones will play Jake Minot, Samantha’s former childhood sweetheart. While it’s been some time since the two has seen each other, they still manage to pick up like no time has passed after they reconnect during her trip.
Reale (“Stranger Things”) will play Ellie Bird, Samantha’s confident, intelligent and pleasantly outspoken youngest sister.

Exclusive: Elena Saurel (Industry) has been confirmed as a lead opposite Katelyn Tarver in Open Book, Amazon Freevee’s half-hour scripted pilot, inspired by Jessica Simpson’s bestselling memoir, from Tom Kapinos (Californication), Patrick Moran’s Pkm Productions and Amazon Studios.
Described as a propulsive, music-soaked coming-of-age story, Open Book, written by Kapinos, follows pop star Sadie Sparrow’s (Tarver) rise from ingenue to mogul, introducing us to the family, friends, and lovers she collects along the way. Touching on themes of love, friendship, family and sisterhood, relationships, soul connections, Hollywood and the music business, Sadie ultimately comes to embrace herself and the fact that her heart inevitably wants what it wants at every stage of life.
Saurel plays Kat. Dark and cynical with a dry wit and unique wisdom, Kat is Sadie’s older sister and the “black sheep” of the family.
John Stamos also stars in the pilot...
