- Is a huge New York Giants fan to the dismay of his family who are mostly Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills fans.
- Wrote a paper in college about the duality of two stand up performances, completely bombing on stage and the other winning a professional stand up competition for a national brand. Unbeknownst to James, the Professor's class who he wrote the paper for had a son working as an actor/stand up comedian in Los Angeles. The Professor shared James' paper with his son while over a holiday break and upon returning to school James was convinced by his Professor's son to further his stand up career after college in New York.
- Studied under Jim Mendrinos (The Art of Stand Up Comedy) at The Gotham Comedy Club NYC.
- Self taught how to write screenplays in college using only these books: "The Screenwriting Formula" - Rob Tobin; "The Hollywood Standard" - Christopher Riley; "The Screenplay Workbook" - Jeremy Robinson & Tom Mungovan.
- Considers the 1980 movie "Caddyshack" as one of his all-time favorite movies.
Once donned the complete outfit, from the camouflage bucket hat to the boots, of Bill Murray's character Carl Spackler in "Caddyshack" for an entire 18 hole match in a Member/Guest tournament. While competing in the tournaments long drive competition later that day, he flawlessly recited Murray's famously improvised "Cinderella Story" monologue to a roar of laughter from the gallery in attendance. - Avid fan of the TV show Letterkenny.
