The Jackson 5 have found their harmony once again for the upcoming biopic “Michael” from director Antoine Fuqua and Oscar-winning producer Graham King.
After a worldwide search led filmmakers to cast Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, as the King of Pop, with 9-year-old Juliano Krue Valdi as the younger Michael, fans have been eagerly waiting to see who would round out the rest of the Jackson family.
The film, which is scheduled to hit theaters on April 18, 2025, is currently in production. Oscar-nominee Colman Domingo assumes the role of family patriarch Joe Jackson with Nia Long as mother Katherine Jackson, plus Miles Teller as lawyer John Branca.
Now, the eight actors who will portray Jackson’s four brothers — who come together to form the massively popular singing group the Jackson 5 — have been revealed: Jamal R. Henderson plays Jermaine Jackson in the film’s later years, while Jayden Harville plays the younger version.

The 4400 sci-fi series originally ran on USA from 2004 to 2007 and, as with the original, the new series explores what happens when 4,400 people who went missing over the past 60 years return all at once.
David-Jones’s TV credits include playing Connor Hawke on CW’s Arrow, co-starring as Clayton Carter on CMT’s Nashville, and guest-starring on Amazon’s Hysteria, Intelligence on CBS, and Fox’s America’s Most Wanted: America Fights Back.
On the film side, David-Jones co-starred in Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit, the 1967 Detroit riots docudrama that focuses on a specific incident of police violence against a group of black men at a hotel, appeared opposite Shailene Woodley in The Divergent Series: Allegiant, and Roman J. The 4400 has found its leader: Arrow alum Joseph David-Jones has joined The CW’s straight-to-series reboot of the former USA Network sci-fi drama, our sister site Variety reports.
David-Jones, who portrayed Connor Hawke during Arrow‘s final two seasons, will play Rev Johnson, a man of true faith from a powerful, affluent church family who disappeared in the 1990s. He is accustomed to the clout that comes with his position, and will emerge as a natural leader among the 4400. David-Jones’ other TV credits include an arc on Nashville and guest spots on Arrowverse spinoff Legends of Tomorrow.

The CW’s reimagining of 2004 USA Network sci-fi drama series The 4400 has brought in its first cast members. Arrow alum Joseph David-Jones and newcomer Khailah Johnson have joined the project, which has a straight-to-series order and has shortened its title to 4400. (The CW also abbreviated the title to its Powerpuff Girls reboot to Powerpuff.)
In the new version, 4400 overlooked, undervalued, or otherwise marginalized people — two of them played by David-Jones and Johnson — who vanished without a trace over the last hundred years are all returned in an instant, having not aged a day and with no memory of what happened to them. As the government races to analyze the potential threat and contain the story, the 4400 themselves must grapple with the fact that they’ve been returned with a few…upgrades, and the increasing likelihood that they were all brought back now for a specific reason.

Arrow might be finishing very soon, but that won’t be the end for this corner of the Arrowverse. A spinoff titled Green Arrow and the Canaries has already been announced, set to star Katherine McNamara’s Mia Smoak as well as Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy’s Black Canaries. It’s likely to inherit a lot of characters from its parent show, then, including, at least potentially, one of Arrow‘s biggest villains.
Manu Bennett’s Deathstroke hasn’t been seen since season 6, but We Got This Covered is hearing that Slade Wilson might be due for a comeback in the spinoff series. It’s currently unknown exactly what his role will be, but our sources – the same ones who told us about this spinoff back in March well before The CW announced it – have said that we should expect to see Deathstroke turn up in some capacity. The familiar faces just keep on returning. In previous episodes, we’ve seen the comebacks of Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell), Thea Queen (Willa Holland) and several more, and in the next installment of Arrow season 8, Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) will put in an appearance for the first time in this final season of the show. What’s more, he’ll be suiting up in his Arsenal outfit once again.
The photos down below reveal that Roy has been living incognito, working as a mechanic and going by the name “Jason” – a nod to fellow red-themed superhero sidekick Jason Todd, perhaps. Diggle tracks him down, though, and apparently recruits him to help out on a mission. Meanwhile, Oliver and his grown-up kids will infiltrate a fight club, an investigation which looks to – unsurprisingly – turn violent.

Reflecting back on what Arrow has accomplished over the years, it’s very difficult not speaking of Deathstroke when doing so. After all, Manu Bennett’s take on the world’s deadliest mercenary was among those first making the character a household name after decades of being known only to comic book readers and viewers of the Teen Titans animated series.
Strangely enough, Bennett has been altogether absent from Arrow‘s eighth and final season, most likely due to Slade Wilson currently being played by Esai Morales over on DC Universe’s Titans. Still, the Deathstroke persona itself has been permitted to be utilized on The CW – it’s just that other guys have been donning the iconic mask.
So far, we’ve seen Charlie Barnett taking up arms as John Diggle Jr. in the flash forward segments, so it was naturally assumed that he’d be the new Deathstroke...

When the producers behind Arrow said Oliver Queen would be replaying his greatest hits during the eighth and final season, they weren’t kidding around. So far, we’ve seen generous tribute paid to seasons 1 and 3, with more nods to the past undoubtedly out of the way.
That being said, it only makes sense that Ollie and the gang head back to Russia in a matter of weeks. After all, his history with the Bratva is crucial to his background, not to mention how season 5’s flashback segments were largely set in that particular country.
Having reiterated that, here’s what’s set to go down in “Prochnost”:
Don’T Let Your Past Define You – Upon learning the key to oppose The Monitor (guest star Lamonica Garrett), Oliver (Stephen Amell) and team return to Russia on a mission to gather the necessary materials. Diggle (David Ramsey) reunites with a figure from his past.

Without a doubt, Arrow will leave a void in both The CW’s prime time schedule and our hearts once it concludes in a matter of months, but it’ll live on in another fashion. As you may have heard, a spinoff in the form of Green Arrow and the Canaries is being primed, and it’s set to star Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy Rodgers and Juliana Harkavy as Mia Smoak, Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake, respectively.
From the sound of it, David Ramsey may very well join them as John Diggle at some point. Based on some of his recent comments, he’s far from ready to give up his hold on the character, and who could blame him? Even if the series that originally introduced him is on the way out, there are certainly other Arrowverse shows that’d likely welcome him with open arms.

As well as following Oliver Queen and friends in an adventure on Earth-2, the Arrow season 8 premiere also caught up with Future Team Arrow in Star City 2040. Mia Smoak, William Harris and Connor Hawke came up against a deadly new foe – the latest version of Deathstroke, who turned out to be Diggle’s own son, John Diggle Jr. But how could the child of heroic characters like Diggle and Lyla turn out to be a villain? Well, it seems we’ll find out the answer in the coming weeks.
TV Line caught up with showrunner Beth Schwartz and asked her what happened to JJ to make him hate his adoptive brother Connor so much and to turn to a life of crime. Despite the fact that we’ll have to wait until Arrow actually premieres in order to find out the specifics of the mission the Monitor is sending Oliver Queen on, advance promotional materials are allowing for us to piece together the puzzle. And with the second episode set to air this fall being only three weeks away, the network has released a hearty helping of images taken from “Welcome to Hong Kong.”
Now, as most of us have figured, Ollie will be replaying his greatest hits by either hopping through the multiverse or by means of time travel. Either way, it’s the Monitor who’ll enable him. If you require confirmation of his involvement beyond the premiere, then simply reference the gallery below. Whatever Oliver is doing in Hong Kong has to do with Mar-Novu’s agenda, and I can’t wait to find out what that is.

David Ramsey talks his reaction to John Diggle having an adopted son for Arrow season 8 and the casting of future-jj
Last season, Arrow revealed that in addition to their Flashpoint-gender-swapped son John Junior Aka JJ, John Diggle and Lyla have an adopted son, Connor. We also learned far more about Diggle’s childhood than before, with the introduction of his stepfather, General Stewart, in an excellent guest-starring role from the one and only Ernie Hudson. Den of Geek spoke with David Ramsay, who plays Diggle, to learn more about how this theme of fathers and sons will play out on Arrow season 8, the final season, this fall.
For many viewers, the surprise that JJ was gender-swapped (and no one really seemed to care?) had only just worn off when it was revealed that Connor Hawke was actually Diggle’s grown, adopted son in the future.

The adventures of Oliver Queen are soon to end as Arrow reaches its eighth and final season this fall. However, whether by accident or design, season 7 of the show came up with a way for the Green Arrow corner of the Arrowverse to be continued following the Emerald Archer’s exit. Flash-forwards were introduced in the season, exploring the next generation of heroes protecting Star City in the year 2040.
Fans have gotten very hungry for a spinoff featuring Katherine McNamara’s Mia Smoak Aka Blackstar, daughter of Oliver and Felicity, ever since season 7 wrapped up. But could it actually happen? Well, the good news is that it’s definitely being discussed behind the scenes. However, it doesn’t look like it’s a particularly high priority at present, what with the network developing a new Arrowverse property for the 2020/21 season.
So, how are fans taking this news? Well, there are conflicting responses online.

Arrow has just got 10 episodes left to go in its shortened eighth and final season this fall, but the show’s still lost two of its stars. Fans have frequently called for such a show to happen, but The CW hasn’t responded to the speculation…until now, that is. Arrow‘s set to end this year with its eighth and final season but that doesn’t mean there’s any reason for Team Arrow to be wearing yesteryear’s costumes. Many of the gang will be getting fresh looks for the new run, with Stephen Amell’s latest Green Arrow outfit previously being revealed via promo images and the season 8 trailer unveiling Laurel Lance/Black Canary’s revamped appearance. Now, the latest character confirmed to be getting a makeover is David Ramsey’s John Diggle.

Arrow has cast Charlie Barnett as the adult version of JJ, Diggle and Lyla's Flashpoint-born son
While it might feel like Arrow is getting ready to say goodbye with its final, 10-episode season starting this fall, there’s still time to say hello to at least one new face. At Comic Con, Arrow’s producers announced that we’re finally going to see JJ, John Diggle’s (David Ramsey) son, in Arrow’s flash-forwards, played by Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll, Tales of the City).
So far, we’ve only met JJ (short for John Jr.) in the present tense where he’s a baby. JJ is a living artifact of the Flashpoint storyline. In the original timeline, Diggle and Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson) had a daughter they named Sara, after Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) who was – at the time – deceased. Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin...

In the original timeline, Diggle and Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson) had a daughter they named Sara, after Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) who was – at the time – deceased. Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin...

Arrow‘s flash-forward family is expanding: Charlie Barnett (Chicago Fire) has joined the CW drama’s eighth and final season in the series-regular role of John Diggle, Jr., aka J.J., it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday.
The adult version of John Diggle and Lyla Michaels’ biological son has thus far only been mentioned in the 2040 Star City timeline, where he is the leader of the Deathstroke gang. He and his adopted brother Connor Hawke, who is an agent of Knightwatch, have a fractured relationship that will pit them against each other.

If we were to flash forward one year from now, we’d be looking at a much different landscape for the Arrowverse. In addition to numerous seismic shifts to be caused be the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event, Arrow itself will have concluded following eight thrilling seasons.
Now, just because Oliver Queen’s personal journey will have met its end doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll have to see the last of his supporting characters. After all, the name “Arrowverse” isn’t used lightly, as there’s been much overlap between the series comprising it.
Here’s what executive producer and current showrunner Beth Schwartz had to say in TV Guide Magazine’s Comic-Con Special when asked if the supporting cast will call it quits:
“You could see them on other shows. That’s the fun of it for the fans, and I’m sure for the actors as well.

Earlier today, we brought news that Supergirl will indeed finally don a new costume as of her show’s fifth season. In the eyes of longtime viewers, an aesthetic upgrade was overdue because such is the norm in the Arrowverse. Technically, Melissa Benoist has worn a few other suits here and there, but you can’t really count Overgirl or Red Daughter’s threads because those are different characters.
Quite understandably, we thought the big reveal wouldn’t arrive until Saturday’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con, but Ms. Benoist got the jump on us all by sharing the first image of the new costume on her Instagram page. In fact, you can view it below.
As you can see, the skirt is gone, so Melissa no longer needs to worry about freezing during those cold nights filming in Vancouver. Still, the look is in keeping with what we’d...

Now that cameras are about to begin rolling on Arrow‘s eighth and final season, it’s only natural that news begin flooding in. And to be quite honest, the topic for today’s discussion is something we’ve been expecting to report for some time.
When Joseph David-Jones found himself promoted to series regular over a month ago, fans understandably began asking if the same thing would happen to Katherine McNamara. As fate would have it, the Shadowhunters alum has likewise been upped to principal cast status for the upcoming season.
To briefly recap, McNamara’s character, Mia Smoak, was introduced during season 7’s flash forward segments. Being the daughter of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak, one would anticipate her going on to accomplish great things. In fact, it wouldn’t be insane to think the ground is being laid for that possible Blackstar spinoff we’ve been hearing about.

Given how Oliver Queen has donned a variety of costumes over the course of Arrow‘s illustrious history, I’ve been waiting for him to upgrade his threads yet again. Though his attire worn during the first three seasons was essentially the same, there were minor differences each year. Of course, you don’t need me to remind you of how he traded up at the start of season 4. And when it comes to seasons 5-7, the suit was highly similar, yet the sleeves were long.
Given that Ollie’s fallen into a comfort zone of sorts, it’s starting to look like nothing new’s on the way. Yes, there was the Dark Arrow costume favored by his Earth-x counterpart, but I’m not sure if that technically counts.

So far, John Diggle Jr. hasn’t played the biggest of roles on Arrow, but then again, you can’t blame him because he’s a small child. Still, he was a hot topic at one time because he was essentially a product of Flashpoint. Longtime Arrowverse fans should recall how John and Lyla originally had a baby girl named Sara during season 3, only to have her replaced by “J.J.” once the timeline had been rewritten a year later.
More recently, his situation got more peculiar when it was revealed how the Connor Hawke we’ve been seeing during the flash forward segments isn’t actually that young lad grown up. Rather, he’s the adopted son of the hero known to Star City as Spartan. And on top of that, we’ll be seeing more of him in season 8 because actor Joseph David-Jones has been promoted to series regular.

At the time of this writing, we’re still unsure of how Arrow‘s eighth and final season will play out. Based on what Stephen Amell has hinted at though, it’ll largely serve as a prelude of sorts to the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event. Exclusive: We will see a lot more of Connor Hawke in the final chapter of Arrow. Joseph-David Jones, who joined the cast of the CW’s DC drama as recurring during its most recent seventh season, has been bumped to a series regular for its eighth and final season.
Created and developed by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg, Arrow, which launched the CW’s Arrowverse, follows spoiled playboy-turned-hero Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) as he protects the city under disguise as a hooded vigilante known as The Green Arrow.
David-Jones plays fan-favorite Connor Hawke, an agent of the Knightwatch who also operates at the second Green Arrow. He was first introduced in a two-episode arc on DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow in 2016 before joining Arrow in early 2019.
David-Jones’ credits also include a memorable recurring role as Clayton Carter on Cmt’s Nashville, and parts in Columbia’s Roman J.

Ernie Hudson guest stars in an Arrow episode that feels like a classic mission-of-the-week, but struggles with the flash-forwards
This Arrow review contains spoilers.
Arrow Season 7 Episode 19
It’s always a good day to see Ernie Hudson on screen. Arrow brings in the heavy hitter for a crime-fighting caper episode with a classic feel. This Diggle-centric episode is long overdue and makes excellent use of its guest star, multiple timelines, and the show’s accumulated history, playing out similar themes across multiple generations of fathers, sons, and brothers. Over in 2040, however, we see the unfortunate downside to the future tense, where neither characters onscreen nor writers of the show seem to have adequately learned their lessons, making things feel a bit trapped in amber.
It’s hard to work in long-lost relatives seven season deep, but a step-father you don’t talk about because you wish he never existed (and...

Throughout the first five seasons of Arrow, which is when the series always featured flashbacks in almost every episode, the show would dedicate at least one hour per season entirely to flashbacks. This week’s Arrow, “Star City 2040,” continues that tradition but does it for Season 7’s flash-forwards, which have been injected with new energy after the reveal that Blackstar is actually Oliver and Felicity’s daughter and William’s sister, Mia Smoak, and her partner is Connor Hawke, the biological son of Bronze Tiger and Diggle and Lyla’s adopted son. When the first promo dropped for next week’s episode of Arrow, “Star City 2040,” it became apparent that the Powers That Be are holding their cards close to the vest. Then again, that’s something we’ve grown used to over the course of the current season because there’s been more secrecy surrounding the series as of late than ever before.
But whereas the aforementioned trailer more so teased Mia Smoak’s upbringing, the images released by the network focus on what’s actually going down in 2040. Because of that, I doubt we’ll see anything of whatever’s been unfolding in 2019 involving Oliver, Emiko and Dante, with that probably being saved for “Inheritance” on March 25th.
As we examine the gallery below, I can’t even begin to guess why Mia, Connor Hawke and the rest of the gang are dressed like they’re living out a scenario from Eyes Wide Shut.

To say that Arrow season 7’s flash forwards have raised many questions is a massive understatements. For starters, we’re still wondering what happened to Felicity Smoak (and why she seemingly had a child without Oliver), not to mention what’s up with the newly (re)introduced Connor Hawke.
Right now, let’s talk about one particular mystery that was presented early on this past fall when a rather sizable scar across the neck of Dinah Drake was revealed in a future sequence. On the one hand, it was cool to be given an assurance of her taking up the Black Canary mantle once again, but on the other, we were left asking how she sustained such an injury. Additionally, it should be noted how she’s never made use of her Canary Cry in the Star City of 2040.

Had you tuned in for the past two episodes of Arrow, then you’ve most certainly been reintroduced to a young man named Connor Hawke. Previously, we’d met him during Legends of Tomorrow‘s unforgettable “Star City 2046,” which aired during that show’s first season. Granted, we’d gotten hints of this coming, but seeing is definitely believing.
Before proceeding further, it’s important to stress that while the same actor, Joseph David-Jones, played Connor across both series, Legends‘ offering isn’t the true future the Arrowverse is building toward. That said, we’ll definitely want to pay attention once Arrow rolls out “Star City 2040” soon enough.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, you should be happy to hear that we’ll be seeing much more of Connor as the current season unfolds, as David-Jones has signed on as a recurring guest star. Whether or...

Arrow tries its hand at horror in a thin episode that's packed with reveals but short on surprise
This Arrow review contains spoilers.
Arrow Season 7 Episode 13
Arrow’s take on horror, the family drama-centric “Star City Slayer,” showed how deflating it can be when none of the surprises are surprising, and the writing was counting on shock to do all the heavy lifting. This episode was packed with reveals, but they’re only exciting if you didn’t already guess them, which most of the internet did. To sum up: Felicity is pregnant, presumably with the kid who turns out to be Mia Smoak, who is looking for her very much alive mother in the flash forwards. Connor Hawke is in fact John Diggle’s rarely seen son, Jj. Curtis is sent packing to DC to use his genius for humanitarian causes.
Sadly, this episode never really delivered on the horror,...
