John Aston Goudeau grew up in the inner city of Houston, Texas. He was raised by his Grandfather and different family members until 2002, then John and his sister was reunited with their farther in Crosby, Texas.
" I always adored watching movies, there's something magical about seeing a story come to life at the cinema on the big screen . As a young kid, in the late 90s early 2000s I would save up my earnings from working with my Grandfather throughout the week, then I would Go and buy a $1-day pass jump on the Houston metro bus, and head to the Magic Johnson Theatre at Northline Mall, to indulge in back-to-back movie's it was my safe place".
"I believe my passion for storytelling blossomed during my childhood; moving from house to house, family to family, you seek something to anchor you. For me, it was storytelling'i would always come up with these different outta this world stories and play them out like little movies. The way I saw it these where my lil worlds and no matter where I called home I could always take them with me"
"My uncle owned a home modeling/construction company, and when we moved with him and my cousins I started working with him. Little did I know, the skills and knowledge I acquired would play a significant role and help shape my career years later"
John is a known Music video director turned Production Designer. He has worked with artists such as Lil Baby, Drake, NbaYoung Boy, Money bag Yo, Beyoncé and many more. When John's not in the Directors chair you can find John doing Production design on hit shows like Paramounts "Hip Hop Family Wedding", Lifetimes "Safe Space", and BETs "One Crazy Christmas" Some long-term goals for John are winning the esteemed Palme d'Or award along with being the first black Director or Production Designer to win an Oscar for his work What's a takeaway John can give to the youth and some advice that can help them go further in this business? "Making movies should always be fun. It should be something you enjoy with a group of friends and family. If you ever find yourself making a movie and you're not happy, not in love with what you are doing you might be doing it for all the wrong reasons. Lastly, be the person that people can trust, trust will get you further than most things will. Be the person people can trust"
