Raphael Cosme is an independent filmmaker, specialized in directing and editing. He began publicizing his work as a 12 year-old on YouTube in 2013 when he began making Godzilla fan-films. From 2013 - 2023 he's made many fan-films ranging from Godzilla, Jurassic Park, and Five Nights at Freddy's. This work combined has garnered over 35,000,000 views on his YouTube channel "Kaijuzilla621". Most of his early film work consisted of building hundreds of miniature model sets with painted scenic backgrounds all done from his backyard in his hometown of St. Augustine, Florida.
His final Godzilla fan-film Godzilla Apex was his largest feature length film project taking up most of his High School and College years. It had over 500 VFX shots done, about 100 miniature sets built, countless hours of editing and sound design. It came out in 2021 and is his highest achievement.
As a senior as Jacksonville University he began pushing his own original film work starting with the short film Gnomes which has gained high notoriety such as being nominated for the Owen Roizman Student Heritage Award Graduate Category by the American Society of Cinematographers, USA in 2023. He graduated in 2023 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Film & Humanities.
