Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features only Four(!) matches this week and a sub-thirty minute running time. Once again we’ve got Elevation regulars Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary. So let’s get into the review!
Match #1: Butcher, Blade and Kip Sabian def. Shunma Katsumata, Yuki Ueno and Mao
My Thoughts: It’s great to see some more Ddt talent making their way to the US and appearing in Aew – after all it worked out Great for Takeshita! Having the trio of Katsumata, Ueno and Mao face three long-standing and talented Aew veterans like The Butcher and The Blade and Kip Sabian made a lot of sense too. Shame the crowd wasn’t into this one though.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir def. The Renegades (Robyn and Charlette)
My Thoughts: What’s that? Nyla Rose and...

It’s Monday so you know what that means, it’s time for our weekly review of Aew: Rampage! This week’s show features Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross on commentary. Now let’s get to the review…
Match #1: Aew World Trios Championship Match The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks – Nick & Matt Jackson) def. Ethan Page, Isiah Kassidy, & Matt Hardy The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Isiah Kassidy worked over Nick’s arm but Nick escaped and hit a twisting arm drag off the top rope. Nick tagged in Matt Jackson and the Bucks used their tandem offense on Kassidy. Kenny Omega and Matt Jackson tagged in for their respective teams. They locked up and Hardy hit a shoulder block. Omega avoided a Side Effect from Hardy. Matt Hardy was looking to jump off the top rope onto Ethan Page when Page stole the glory, knocking down Omega.

Charlie Walker, a San Francisco business owner and social justice icon who was portrayed by Mike Colter in the 2022 biopic I’m Charlie Walker, died Thursday in his hometown, it was announced. He was 89.
Colter, perhaps best known for his turns as Marvel hero Luke Cage, starred alongside Safiya Fredericks and Dylan Baker in the June release from Famm Films and Shout! Studios that was directed by Patrick Gilles.
The son of sharecropper parents, Walker became a successful trucker and in the 1960s led protests to open public construction jobs to Black contractors who were being deliberately snubbed.
He hired trucks that cleaned up San Francisco Bay after a devastating 1971 oil spill, helped good friend and then-Assembly member Willie Brown safely exit City Hall after the 1978 assassinations of Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk and became one of the first Black employees at the San Francisco Chronicle.

Another episode of Aew: Dark, which this week features fourteen, yes Fourteen(!), matches. Though this show has also gone back to the traditional format after last week’s tremendous show which showcased two matches filmed internationally… I fear no Dark may ever live up to last weeks… Especially not one crammed with 14 matches like the old pandemic days!
Match #1: Jora Johl def. Luke Sampson
My Thoughts: Poor Jora Johl, it really looked like he was being set up to be a big star, with a future turn against Matt Hardy probably propelling him up the Aew card. Then Jeff hardy joined Aew and the Hfo disbanded and Johl has been seemingly forgotten. Though he has out in some decent time on Aew’s YouTube shows, it feels like he’s fallen into the Factory/Dark Order trap – win against jobbers on YouTube, Be the jobber of Dynamite/Rampage!

Match #1: Brody King & Malakai Black def. John Silver & Alex Reynolds The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Reynolds and Black chain wrestled and then Reynolds took down Black with a deep arm drag. Black got a blind tag to Brody and Brody used his bulk to muscle Reynolds into the corner. Reynolds avoided a chop and tagged out to John Silver. Brody King leveled John Silver and then attempted a senton but Silver dodged it and tagged out to Reynolds. Silver and Reynolds blasted Brody with stereo kicks. They sent Brody spilling to the outside after more tandem offense. Brody intercepted a diving Alex Reynolds and then spiked him on the ring apron.
