Saint Harison is lonely. On Tuesday, the singer released the poignant video for his song “More Weed, Less Friends,” which follows him coming to terms with the solitude that’s taken over his life.
“This song is my absolute baby, I wrote and produced this one all by myself and it just means the fucking world to me,” he wrote on Instagram.
The Teeeezy C-directed video sees Harison — with his bright pink hair and ironic “I Don’t Smoke” sweatshirt — singing the melancholic lyrics about fearing death from a lonesome couch.

The Peppermint Club hosts the performance of a lifetime in the music video for “Liquor,” the simmering collaboration from Babyface and Ari Lennox. In the visual directed by Jean Esten, Lennox is the sultry R&b singer taking the stage in front of the club’s bright red velvet curtains while Babyface watches on from behind the bar.
Under the spotlight, Lennox takes centerstage and holds the sparse audience captive with her performance. It’s not unlike her role on Babyface’s Girls Night Out (Extended), a deluxe release of...

More than 5,000 miles from her Las Vegas disaster in the residency that never was, Adele is making amends with a special two-day concert spectacular.
The show, billed as BST (for British Summer Time) will be held July 1-2 in London’s Hyde Park, and will feature an all-female lineup of artists, highlighted by Kacey Musgraves.
Also appearing are Mahalia, Self Esteem, Nilüfer Yanya, Tiana Major9, Chrissi, Gabrielle, Bonnie Kemplay, Ruti and Tamzene. It’s uncertain if every artist will appear both nights.
“The line up for my Hyde Park shows next week is going to blow your socks off!” Adele wrote on social media, sharing a poster for the festival as well as a black-and-white graphic of her with some of her guest performers. “An all-female bill, from new artists that I’m obsessed with to the heavenly @KaceyMusgraves to one of my favorite artists of all time @GabrielleUk who...

When Lucky Daye attended the Grammy Awards in Las Vegas last weekend, he was thinking optimistically. “I pull up every time they nominate me,” the 36-year-old singer said shortly before the ceremony, at which he took home a Best Progressive R&b Album trophy for his 2021 EP, Table for Two. “It feels good to be nominated for any award.”
Daye put together Table for Two by recruiting a range of impressive singers, including Ari Lennox, Joyce Wrice, Yebba, and Tiana Major9, for duets. For his most recent project, Candydrip, released this March,...

Like seemingly all the awards shows this season, the 63rd Grammy Awards were filled with surprises, ranging from unprecedented record-breaking splits to a significant number of upsets. Not only that, we also saw a lot of solid trends broken this year, much like we saw in the nominations earlier in the season. Let’s take a dive into the biggest and weirdest moments of the night.
SEE2021 Grammy winners list: 63rd Annual Grammy results in all 84 categories
Splits everywhere
The Grammys are infamously known for sweeps, so to see Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, and Brittany Howard all leave with one Grammy apiece was definitely odd. It was especially weird because Styles edged out Lipa for Pop Solo, yet Lipa defeated him and Taylor Swift for Pop Vocal Album, and then Swift beat Lipa for Album of the Year despite not winning anything else.

The fine art of romance is a difficult éclat to master, and if anyone understands that, it's Tiana Major9. After all, muddled feelings about relationships are what inspired her new EP, At Sixes and Sevens, which dropped on Aug. 7. A follow-up to 2019's Rehearsal @ Nine, the 24-year-old star's latest project is an introspective journey through love's tangled nexus. "During this period of my life, I've been feeling very conflicted about love, how to be in love, and how to navigate love," the "Collide" songstress told Popsugar. "So the EP is really about all of those things."
"I learned that I'm highly sensitive and very in tune with my emotions, and that's what I love about the EP."
But At Sixes and Sevens is more than your cookie-cutter "love is complicated" collection of tunes. There's an overarching theme of self-awareness that enriches the exploration, and the London-born vocalist harps on that insight by interlacing short affirmations.

Netflix’s “Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker,” the story of America’s first self-made female millionaire, takes place between 1908 and 1918. But the music, instead of focusing on the early jazz that might be expected, runs the gamut from ragtime to hip-hop.
“Madam C.J. Walker is a central, seminal historical figure who I had heard about from my mother, who heard about it from her mother,” says music supervisor Morgan Rhodes. “Her story has been part of the fabric of black history down through the years — one that belongs to generations of women.”
Octavia Spencer plays Walker, the daughter of freed slaves who created a line of specialized hair products for African American women. Her entrepreneurial skills and intense drive made her one of the country’s wealthiest and most powerful women. When she died in 1919, she lived near the Astors and the Rockefellers on...

“Queen & Slim,” the film, traffics in sudden tragedy and symbolic terror as it portrays the violence of self-defense and self-awareness in stark, painful terms. It deserves an equally audacious score and soundtrack, a job that has gone to another Devonté Hynes, the British singer, songwriter, guitarist, record producer and director in his guise of Blood Orange.
Hynes has been known for his other musical projects, the punky Test Icicles and the dreamy Lightspeed Champion. But as Blood Orange, Hynes has found himself at the axis of abstract soul and ambient electronic pop with a lyrical edge that is as deeply emotional as it is bracingly inventive. Plus, in the last several years, Orange has been in the pink of top-tier production and writing assignments for the likes of Mariah Carey, Solange, Mac Miller, Fka Twigs, Haim, Florence and the Machine, Carly Rae Jepsen, Kylie Minogue and Blondie. He’s...
