Raised by her mother's clown troupe in Venezuela, Scarlett's interest in performing arts has been prevalent from an early age. After moving to the United States, Scarlett began to study theatre and film, where her love for cinema and creative writing formally developed. She won the national YoungArts Cinematic Arts Award in 2013 for a series of stop-motions she wrote inspired by the work of Jan Svankmajer. She went on to participate in the YoungArts program, where she studied acting under Rosie Perez. Scarlett has also participated in several prestigious writing programs, such as the Yale's Writer's Conference and Oxford University's Creative Writing Summer School. Scarlett's writing has been featured in publications both in the United States and the United Kingdom. Scarlett began her professional acting career as a Stand-In in the television series "Grown", taking her mother's advice to pursue acting professionally, following her mother's brain surgery.
