In September 1994, IMDb Top 250 #1, The Shawshank Redemption (1994), had its world premiere at the 1994 Toronto International Film Festival. Little did they know then the classic status the movie would go on to get over the next 20 years... But The Shawshank Redemption (1994) wasn't the only great movie to feature at the festival that year; several of them are considered classics in their own right, or at least in their genre, today.
