Maximilian Dirr first studied English and Spanish at the University "La Sapienza" in Rome between the 2004 and 2007, than he decided to study acting at Genoa's National Theatre Academy "Teatro Stabile di Genova" in Genoa, which he successfully completed in 2010.
Right afterwords his studies he started working there as a member of the ensemble at the Teatro Stabile di Genova in numerous productions.
Before he made his debut on German television with ZAPPELPHILIPP , which won the FIPA d'Or Award for Best TV Film Award 2013, directed by Connie Walther, Maximilian Dirr has already appeared in several Italian film and TV productions. This was followed by numerous national and international productions, including Ridley Scott's pilot for the thriller series THE VATICAN (2013), an episode lead role in the crime series KOMMISSARIN LUCAS (2014), the dystopian BBC mini-series SS-GB, directed by Philipp Kadelbach etc.
His first film role was in 2012 alongside Geoffrey Rush in Giuseppe Tornateres drama THE BEST OFFER.
In 2017 Maximilian Dirr was seen in German cinemas in the comedy MARIA MAFIOSI under the direction of Jule Ronstedt. In 2018 he was seen in the based upon true events war drama SOBIBOR directed by Konstantin Khabenskiy, telling the story about an uprising in the Polish extermination camp in the year 1943.
