- Angelines Fernández was born in Madrid, Spain in 1922. During the Spanish Civil War she was supportive the Republicans, and afterwards the Spanish Maquis. As a result of her support of the Spanish Maquis, she fled Spain in 1947 and after a brief time in Cuba she settled in Mexico. She began acting in films in the mid-1950s and television by the end of the decade. She gained her greatest fame playing Doña Clotilde "La Bruja del 71" on the Mexican sitcom "El Chavo del Ocho." Fernández died from lung cancer in 1994.
