- Born to British parents, one of Australia's top radio DJs from the 1950s to 1970s started his successful broadcasting career in Brisbane, Queensland. Rogers joined Sydney radio station 2UE in 1954 to present a Top 40 show which lasted for the next 8 years. He joined 2SM in 1962 and catapulted it to number 1. Rogers was chosen in 1964 to represent 2SM on The Beatles' legendary tour through Europe, Asia and Australia. He was subsequently dubbed "the fifth Beatle". He devised a new format of provocative commentary, gossip and music, upon his return to 2UE to present his morning radio show. Success in radio spilled onto television as he hosted a late night TV variety Show called The Bob Rogers Show on the Seven Network for the next five years. He returned to 2UE in 1994 to present a Sunday morning show. In 1997, Macquarie Radio Network owner John Singleton invited Bob to be a presenter in his Sydney easy listening station 2CH.
