Wonderfully talented, heavyset character actor (from New York, but regularly playing Southerners) M. Emmet Walsh has made a solid career of playing corrupt cops, deadly crooks, and zany comedic roles since the early 1970s.
Michael Emmet Walsh was born in Ogdensburg, to Agnes Katharine (Sullivan) and Harry Maurice Walsh, a customs agent. He is of Irish descent. Walsh first appeared in a few fairly forgettable roles both on TV and onscreen before cropping up in several well remembered films, including a courtroom police officer in What's Up, Doc? (1972), as the weird Dickie Dunn in Slap Shot (1977), and as a loony sniper hunting Steve Martin in The Jerk (1979). On-screen demand heated up for him in the early 1980s with attention-grabbing work in key hits, including Brubaker (1980), Reds (1981), and as Harrison Ford's police chief in
the futuristic thriller Blade Runner (1982). Walsh then turned in a stellar performance as the sleazy, double-crossing private detective in the Joel Coen and Ethan Coen film noir Blood Simple (1984), and showed up again for the Coens as a loud-mouthed sheet-metal worker bugging Nicolas Cage in the hilarious Raising Arizona (1987). As Walsh moved into his fifties and beyond, Hollywood continued to offer him plenty of work, and he has appeared in over 50 movies since passing the half-century mark. His consistent ability to turn out highly entertaining portrayals led film critic Roger Ebert to coin the "Stanton-Walsh Rule," which states that any film starring Walsh or Harry Dean Stanton has to have some merit. And the "M" stands for Michael!- Actor

movies of all types. When he was 13 he was walking around at the Orange

(2005-2007) background-acting gig on Nickelodeon's
Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide (2004),
and a friend on the show,

manager, who offered to represent him. From that point on, he
considered himself to be a serious actor.

Hannah Montana (2006) in 2007,
still a small part, but very fun (a few more lines, and he got to fling
popcorn on Miley Cyrus).
His big break (relatively speaking) was in 2007, as casting directors
started to recognize him from his many, many auditions, and he was
given an opportunity to play the part of "Jake Krandle" in the new
Nickelodeon series iCarly (2007),
which should start airing late in 2007. His first episode is called

Bill Cosby). Lohan made her acting debut in
1996 as the third actress to play Ali Fowler in the television drama
Another World (1964). Shortly
afterward she was hand-picked by Oscar-nominated writer
Nancy Meyers as estranged twin sisters in
an adaptation by Walt Disney Pictures of a novel by
Erich Kästner, which marked Meyers'
directorial debut. Lohan's first feature film,
The Parent Trap (1998), a remake
of The Parent Trap (1961), was a
modest commercial success, earning her widespread critical acclaim and
a Young Artist award for Best Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film,
as well as Blockbuster Entertainment and YoungStar award nominations.
After signing a three-movie contract with Disney, she returned to the
small screen to star in the made-for-TV movies
Life-Size (2000) (opposite
Tyra Banks) and
Get a Clue (2002) (opposite
Bug Hall). She also appeared as Rose in the
pilot episode of the short-lived comedy series
Bette (2000), which starred
Bette Midler.
In June 2001 Lohan took a brief hiatus from acting. Her music career
was launched over a year later, when Estefan Enterprises made a
five-album production deal with her in September 2002, and she signed a
recording contract with the reactivated Casablanca Records.
However, Lohan was not turning her back on her blossoming acting
career. Just over a month previously she had been cast opposite
Jamie Lee Curtis for another Disney
adaptation of a novel, this time a fantasy comedy by
Mary Rodgers.
Freaky Friday (2003), a remake of
Freaky Friday (1976), was a huge

Her next acting role was the title character in the comedy
Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004),
a Disney adaptation of the novel by

reviews upon its release and died a quick death at the box office, but
even the harshest of critics were impressed by Lohan's charming turn as
aspiring actress Lola.
Lohan's next project,
Mean Girls (2004), saw her reunite
with Freaky Friday (2003) director
Mark Waters. Inspired by a
non-fiction book by Rosalind Wiseman
and written by

for the Donald Petrie romantic comedy
Just My Luck (2006).
One of the most sought-after young actresses in the industry, she
starred in Bobby (2006) (opposite

Masuimi was a true 'master of disguise' and often made her own costumes and backgrounds, and was an accomplished fire performer and burlesque dancer. American actor and producer Matthew David McConaughey was born in Uvalde, Texas. His mother, Mary Kathleen (McCabe), is a substitute school teacher originally from New Jersey. His father, James Donald McConaughey, was a Mississippi-born gas station owner who ran an oil pipe supply business. He is of Irish, Scottish, German, English, and Swedish descent. Matthew grew up in Longview, Texas, where he graduated from the local High School (1988). Showing little interest in his father's oil business, which his two brothers later joined, Matthew was longing for a change of scenery, and spent a year in Australia, washing dishes and shoveling chicken manure. Back to the States, he attended the University of Texas in Austin, originally wishing to be a lawyer. But, when he discovered an inspirational Og Mandino book "The Greatest Salesman in the World" before one of his final exams, he suddenly knew he had to change his major from law to film.
He began his acting career in 1991, appearing in student films and commercials in Texas and directed short films as Chicano Chariots (1992). Once, in his hotel bar in Austin, he met the casting director and producer Don Phillips, who introduced him to director Richard Linklater for his next project. At first, Linklater thought Matthew was too handsome to play the role of a guy chasing high school girls in his coming-of-age drama Dazed and Confused (1993), but cast him after Matthew grew out his hair and mustache. His character was initially in three scenes but the role grew to more than 300 lines as Linklater encouraged him to do some improvisations. In 1995, he starred in
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994), playing a mad bloodthirsty sadistic killer, opposite Renée Zellweger.
Shortly thereafter, moving to L.A., Matthew became a sensation with his performances in two high-profile 1996 films Lone Star (1996), where he portrayed killing suspected sheriff and in the film adaptation of John Grisham's novel A Time to Kill (1996), where he played an idealistic young lawyer opposite Sandra Bullock and Kevin Spacey. The actor was soon being hailed as one of the industry's hottest young leading man inspiring comparisons to actor Paul Newman. His following performances were Robert Zemeckis' Contact (1997) with Jodie Foster (the film was finished just before the death of the great astronomer and popularizer of space
science Carl Sagan) and Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997), a fact-based 1839 story about the rebellious African slaves. In 1998, he teamed again with Richard Linklater as one of the bank-robbing brothers in The Newton Boys (1998), set in Matthew's birthplace, Uvalde, Texas. During this time, he also wrote, directed and starred in the 20-minute short The Rebel (1998).
In 1999, he starred in the comedy Edtv (1999), about the rise of reality television, and in 2000, he headlined Jonathan Mostow's U-571 (2000), portraying officer Lt. Tyler, in a WW II story of the daring mission of American submariners trying to capture the Enigma cipher machine.
In the 2000s, he became known for starring in romantic comedies, such as The Wedding Planner (2001), opposite Jennifer Lopez, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), in which he co-starred with Kate Hudson. He played Denton Van Zan, an American warrior and dragons hunter in the futuristic thriller Reign of Fire (2002), where he co-starred with Christian Bale. In 2006, he starred in the romantic comedy Failure to Launch (2006), and later as head coach Jack Lengyel in We Are Marshall (2006), along with Matthew Fox. In 2008, he played treasure hunter Benjamin "Finn" Finnegan in Fool's Gold (2008), again with Kate Hudson. After playing Connor Mead in Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009), co-starring with Jennifer Garner, McConaughey took a two year hiatus to open different opportunities in his career. Since 2010, he has moved away from romantic comedies.
That change came in 2011, in his first movie after that pause, when he portrayed criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller in The Lincoln Lawyer (2011), that operates mostly from the back seat of his Lincoln car. After this performance that was considered one of his best until then, Matthew played other iconic characters as district attorney Danny Buck Davidson in Bernie (2011), the wild private detective "Killer" Joe Cooper in Killer Joe (2011), Mud in Mud (2012), reporter Ward Jensen in The Paperboy (2012), male stripper club owner Dallas in Magic Mike (2012), starring Channing Tatum. McConaughey's career certainly reached it's prime, when he played HIV carrier Ron Woodroof in the biographical drama Dallas Buyers Club (2013), shot in less than a month. For his portrayal of Ron, Matthew won the Best Actor in the 86th Academy Awards, as well as the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor, among other awards and nominations. The same year, he also appeared in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street (2013). In 2014, he starred in HBO's True Detective (2014), as detective Rustin Cohle, whose job is to investigate with his partner Martin Hart, played by Woody Harrelson, a gruesome murder that happened in his little town in Louisiana. The series was highly acclaimed by critics winning 4 of the 7 categories it was nominated at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards; he also won a Critics' Choice Award for the role.
Also in 2014, Matthew starred in Christopher Nolan's sci-fi film Interstellar (2014), playing Cooper, a former NASA pilot.- Kelly Lynch was born in 1959 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She started her
acting career with a small job at the Guthrie Theater. She studied
under acting teacher Sanford Meisner and became a model for the famous Elite
Modeling Agency. She first gained acclaim for acting in the Gus Van Sant
film Drugstore Cowboy (1989). Lynch earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for
her role in The Beans of Egypt, Maine (1994). She stars in the 20th-Century Fox
film Homegrown (1998), co-starring Hank Azaria and Billy Bob Thornton. - Actress

California. She was conceived in Dallas, Texas (the reason for her
middle name). Her father, Ron Howard, is a former actor turned
Oscar-winning director. Her mother is actress and writer
Cheryl Howard (née Alley). Her
famous relatives include her uncle, actor
Clint Howard, and her grandparents, actors
Rance Howard and
Jean Speegle Howard. She also has
two younger twin sisters, Jocelyn and Paige Howard (also an actress), born in 1985, and a
brother, Reed Howard, born in 1987. Her ancestry includes German,
English, Scottish, and Irish.
Howard was raised in Greenwich, Connecticut, because her parents
decided to raise their four children as far away from the trappings of
showbiz milieu as possible. During most of her childhood, she really did
not have much access to a TV. She attended Greenwich Country Day
School, and Byram Hills High School in Armonk, New York. At that time,
she discovered existentialism and devoured books by
Albert Camus and
Jean-Paul Sartre. She attended the
prestigious Steppenwolf School and Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts camp
at Catskills, together with her friend,
Natalie Portman. She applied to drama
school as Bryce Dallas, dropping her last name to eschew special
treatment because of association with her renowned father. From
1999-2003, she studied at the Stella Adler
Conservatory and at the New York University Tisch School of Arts and
graduated with a BFA degree in Drama in 2003. At that time, she
performed in Broadway productions of classical plays by
George Bernard Shaw,
William Shakespeare and
Anton Chekhov.
Young Howard appeared in three of her father's films as an extra,
including her appearance as a child together with her mother in
Apollo 13 (1995). She made her
feature-film debut as Heather, a supporting role in
Book of Love (2004) by director
Alan Brown. Director M. Night Shyamalan was impressed by
her performance in a Broadway play and cast her, without an audition, as
a female lead in his two thrillers:
The Village (2004) and
Lady in the Water (2006).
Howard replaced Nicole Kidman in the
Dogville (2003) sequel,
Manderlay (2005). She starred as Rosalind
in As You Like It (2006), a
reprise of her stage role that made such an impression on Shyamalan.
She also played Gwen Stacy in the third installment of the
Spider-Man franchise,
Spider-Man 3 (2007), and the female lead, Claire, in the sequel Jurassic World (2015). Both films broke the records for highest openings weekends at the time of their release. Among Bryce's other major films are Terminator Salvation (2009), The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010), The Help (2011), and 50/50 (2011).
Howard became a devoted vegan, after Joaquin Phoenix showed her
Earthlings (2005), a documentary about
animal cruelty. After seeing that, she has consumed no animal products,
not even milk or eggs. Her other activities outside of the acting
profession include playing basketball and writing.
On June 17, 2006, in Connecticut, she married her long-time boyfriend,
actor Seth Gabel, whom she met at New York
University and had dated for five years. On February 16, 2007, Bryce

Nicolas Cage was born Nicolas Kim Coppola in Long Beach, California, the son of comparative literature professor August Coppola (whose brother is director Francis Ford Coppola) and dancer/choreographer Joy Vogelsang. He is of Italian (father) and Polish and German (mother) descent. Cage changed his name early in his career to make his own reputation, succeeding brilliantly with a host of classic, quirky roles by the late 1980s.
Initially studying theatre at Beverly Hills High School (though he dropped out at seventeen), he secured a bit part in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) -- most of which was cut, dashing his hopes and leading to a job selling popcorn at the Fairfax Theater, thinking that would be the only route to a movie career. But a job reading lines with actors auditioning for uncle Francis' Rumble Fish (1983) landed him a role in that film, followed by the punk-rocker in Valley Girl (1983), which was released first and truly launched his career.
His one-time passion for method acting reached a personal limit when he smashed a street-vendor's remote-control car to achieve the sense of rage needed for his gangster character in The Cotton Club (1984).
In his early 20s, he dated Jenny Wright for two years and later linked to Uma Thurman. After a relationship of several years with Christina Fulton, a model, they split amicably and share custody of a son, Weston Cage (b. 1990). He also has a son with his ex-wife, Alice Kim Cage.- Actor

Alan Tudyk was born in El Paso, Texas, but grew up in Plano, where he
attended Plano Sr. High. In 1990, he went on to study drama at Lon
Morris Jr. College. While there, he was awarded the Academic Excellence
Award for Drama. He was also named Most Likely to Succeed and Sophomore
Beau. During this time, Alan was also an active member of the Delta Psi
Omega fraternity.
After leaving LMJC, Alan went on to study at the prestigious Juilliard
conservatory but left in 1996 before earning a degree.
After a number of smaller stage productions and a small role in the
movie Patch Adams (1998), Alan landed
his first Broadway role in 1999 with "Epic Proportions." He quickly
became a sought-after comedic actor, with roles in such films as
28 Days (2000) and
A Knight's Tale (2001).
In 2002, Alan got the role of Wash, the wise-cracking pilot of Serenity
on the short-lived series
Firefly (2002). Although it lasted
only eleven episodes, this may be Alan's most well-known and best-loved
role. No other networks would buy the failed series, but Universal
Pictures began courting creator Joss Whedon
to produce a big-screen version of the series. While awaiting the final
news of Firefly's fate, Alan played the beloved Steve the Pirate in the
movie
Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004)
and the voice of the robot Sonny in
I, Robot (2004).
In 2005, Alan finally reprised the role of Wash in

Anne Jacqueline Hathaway was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Kate McCauley Hathaway, an actress, and Gerald T. Hathaway, a lawyer, both
originally from Philadelphia. She is of mostly Irish descent, along
with English, German, and French. Her first major role came in the
short-lived television series
Get Real (1999). She gained
widespread recognition for her roles in
The Princess Diaries (2001)
and its 2004 sequel as a young girl who discovers she is a member of
royalty, opposite Julie Andrews
and Heather Matarazzo.
She also had a notable role in
Nicholas Nickleby (2002)
opposite Charlie Hunnam and
Jamie Bell, and a starring role in
Ella Enchanted (2004). A former
top-ranking soprano in New York, Hathaway was reportedly a front-runner
for the role of "Christine" in the 2004
The Phantom of the Opera (2004).
However, due to scheduling conflicts with
The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004),
she couldn't take the role, which was later given to newcomer
Emmy Rossum.
Hathaway soon started to move away from family-friendly films.
Following
The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004),
she appeared topless in the films
Havoc (2005) opposite
Josh Peck and
Brokeback Mountain (2005)
opposite Heath Ledger and
Jake Gyllenhaal. Her desire to break out
of her "Princess Diaries" image parallels that of her one-time co-star,
Julie Andrews, who went topless in
the film S.O.B. (1981) in order to break
away from the image she created from her 1960s musicals. In interviews,
Hathaway said that doing family-friendly films didn't mean she was
similar to their characters or mean she objected to appearing nude in
other films.- Actress

Alan Ritchson has carved a space for himself on both the large and
small screens since he made the trek from a small town in Florida to
Los Angeles.
Alan Michael Ritchson was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Vickie (Harrell), a high
school teacher, and David Ritchson, a U.S. Air Force Chief Master
Sergeant. He is of Czech, English, and German descent. Frequently relocating as the middle son of a military family,
Alan learned to adapt and entertain in order to build friendships in
new and unfamiliar environments. Certainly this has been a key
ingredient in his success so far in the industry.
Alan's early credits include portraying Aquaman in the long running
series Smallville. This marked the first portrayal of the superhero in
an officially licensed live-action production.
Ritchson has also taken on grittier leading man roles in the
independent film market with the modern-day western "Rex" and the
dramatic love story of "Steam" alongside Ally Sheedy.
In contrast, he also made quite a comedic impression with his
love-to-hate-him character of Thad Castle on the football comedy Blue
Mountain State. He parlayed his comedic skills to work with Rebel
Wilson in her CBS pilot Super Fun Night.
In addition to his acting repertoire, Alan also writes, produces and is
a singer/songwriter.
Most recently Alan can be seen as the District 1 victor, Gloss, in

An unsuccessful attempt at stand-up comedy led Keaton to working as a TV cameraman in a cable station, and he came to realize he wanted to work in front of the cameras. Keaton first appeared on TV in several episodes of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood (1968).
He left Pittsburgh and moved to Los Angeles to begin auditioning for TV. He began cropping up in popular TV shows including Maude (1972) and The Mary Tyler Moore Hour (1979). Around this time, Keaton decided to use an alternative surname to remove confusion with better-known actor Michael Douglas. He looked into the "K"'s for surnames and thought it was inoffensive to chose 'Keaton'. His next break was scoring a co-starring role alongside Jim Belushi in the short-lived comedy series
Working Stiffs (1979), which showcased his comedic talent and led to his co-starring role in Night Shift (1982). Keaton next
scored the lead in the comedy hits Mr. Mom (1983), Johnny Dangerously (1984) , Gung Ho (1986), the Tim Burton horror-comedy Beetlejuice (1988), and The Dream Team (1989).
Keaton's career was given another major boost when he was again cast by Tim Burton, this time as the title comic book superhero, millionaire playboy/crime-fighter Bruce Wayne, in Batman (1989). Burton cast him because he thought that Keaton was the only actor who could portray someone who has the kind of darkly obsessive personality that the character demands. To say there were howls of protest by fans of the caped crusader comic strip is an understatement! Warner Bros. was deluged with thousands of letters of complaint commenting that comedian Keaton was the wrong choice for the Caped Crusader, given his prior work and the fact that he lacked the suave, handsome features and tall, muscular physicality often attributed to the character in the comic books. However, their fears were proven wrong when Keaton turned in a sensational performance, and he held his own on screen with opponent Jack Nicholson, playing the lunatic villain, "The Joker". Keaton's dramatic work earned widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike, and Batman (1989) became one of the most successful films of the year.
Keaton remained active during the 1990s, appearing in a wide range of films. Keen to diversify his work, Keaton starred as a psychotic tenant in Pacific Heights (1990), as a hard-working cop in One Good Cop (1991), and then donned the black cape and cowl once more for Batman Returns (1992). He remained in demand during the 1990s, appearing in a wide range of films, including the star-studded Shakespearian Much Ado About Nothing (1993), the drama My Life (1993), another Ron Howard comedy The Paper (1994), with sexy Andie MacDowell in Multiplicity (1996), twice in the same role, dogged Elmore Leonard character Agent Ray Nicolette, in Jackie Brown (1997) and Out of Sight (1998). He also played a killer in the mediocre thriller Desperate Measures (1998).
In the 2000s, Keaton appeared in several productions with mixed success, including Live from Baghdad (2002), First Daughter (2004), and Herbie Fully Loaded (2005). He also provided voices for characters in the animated films Cars (2006), Toy Story 3 (2010), and Minions (2015).
He returned to major film roles in the 2010s, co-starring in The Other Guys (2010), RoboCop (2014) and Need for Speed (2014). Also that year, Keaton starred alongside Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Emma Stone, and Naomi Watts in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014), a film by 21 Grams (2003) and Biutiful (2010) director Alejandro G. Iñárritu. In the film, Keaton plays Riggan Thomson, a screen actor, famous for playing the iconic titular superhero, who puts on a Broadway play based on a Raymond Carver short story, to regain his former glory. Keaton's critically praised lead performance earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, the Critics' Choice Award for Best Actor and Best Actor in a Comedy, and nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award, British Academy Film Award, and Academy Award for Best Actor.
In 2015, he played a journalist in Spotlight (2015), which, like Birdman, won the Academy Award for Best Picture. In 2016, he starred as Ray Kroc, the developer of McDonald's, in the drama The Founder (2016).

The surname "Efron", which is Hebrew and a Biblical place name, comes from Zac's Polish Jewish paternal grandfather.
Zac was raised in Arroyo Grande, CA. He took his first step toward acting at the age of eleven, after his parents noticed his singing ability. Singing and acting lessons soon led to an appearance in a production of "Gypsy" that ran 90 performances, and he was hooked. After appearing on-stage in "Peter Pan", "Auntie Mame", "Little Shop of Horrors" and "The Music Man", guest parts quickly followed on television series, including Firefly (2002), ER (1994), CSI: Miami (2002), NCIS (2003), and The Guardian (2001). After guest-starring in several episodes of Summerland (2004), Zac joined the regular cast as girl-crazy Cameron Bale. He graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in June 2006.
Efron came to fame for starring in the Disney Channel original film High School Musical (2006), for which he won the Teen Choice Award for Breakout Star. He returned to the role of Troy Bolton in High School Musical 2 (2007), which broke cable TV records with 17.5 million viewers.
He had the lead roles in the fantasy romance Charlie St. Cloud (2010) and the comedy 17 Again (2009), both from director Burr Steers, and as the lovable Link Larkin in 2007's smash hit musical Hairspray (2007), directed by Adam Shankman. In addition, he won an MTV Movie Award for Breakthrough Performance.
Efron then starred in Richard Linklater's Me and Orson Welles (2008), an adaptation of the novel by Robert Kaplow, which premiered to rave reviews at the 2008 Toronto Film Festival. In 2012, Efron took the lead in The Lucky One (2012), a film adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel, playing a marine who returns to North Carolina after serving in Iraq in search for the unknown woman he believes was his good luck charm during the war. William Bradley "Brad" Pitt was born on December 18, 1963 in Shawnee, Oklahoma and raised in Springfield, Missouri to Jane Etta Pitt (née Hillhouse), a school counselor & William Alvin "Bill" Pitt, a truck company manager. At Kickapoo High School, Pitt was involved in sports, debating, student government and school musicals. Pitt attended the University of Missouri, where he majored in journalism with a focus on advertising. He occasionally acted in fraternity shows. He left college two credits short of graduating to move to California. Before he became successful at acting, Pitt supported himself by driving strippers in limos, moving refrigerators and dressing as a giant chicken while working for El Pollo Loco.
Pitt's earliest credited roles were in television, starting on the daytime soap opera Another World (1964) before appearing in the recurring role of Randy on the legendary prime time soap opera Dallas (1978). Following a string of guest appearances on various television series through the 1980s, Pitt gained widespread attention with a small part in Thelma & Louise (1991), in which he played a sexy criminal who romanced and conned Geena Davis. This led to starring roles in badly received films such as Johnny Suede (1991) & Cool World (1992).
But Pitt's career hit an upswing with his casting in A River Runs Through It (1992), which cemented his status as an multi-layered actor as opposed to just a pretty face. Pitt's subsequent projects were as quirky and varied in tone as his performances, ranging from his unforgettably comic cameo as stoner roommate Floyd in True Romance (1993) to romantic roles in such visually lavish films as Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) and Legends of the Fall (1994), to an emotionally tortured detective in the horror-thriller Se7en (1995). His portrayal of frenetic oddball Jeffrey Goines in 12 Monkeys (1995) won him a Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.
Pitt's portrayal of Achilles in the big-budget period drama Troy (2004) helped establish his appeal as an action star and was closely followed by a co-starring role in the stylish spy-versus-spy flick Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005). It was on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith that Pitt, who married Jennifer Aniston in a highly publicized ceremony in 2000, met Angelina Jolie. Pitt left Aniston for Jolie in 2005, a break-up that continues to fuel tabloid stories years after its occurrence.
He continues to wildly vary his film choices, appearing in everything from high-concept popcorn flicks such as Megamind (2010) to adventurous critic-bait like Inglourious Basterds (2009) and The Tree of Life (2011). He has received two Best Actor Oscar nominations, for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) and Moneyball (2011). In 2014, he starred in the war film Fury (2014), opposite Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal, and Michael Peña.
Pitt and Jolie have 6 children, 3 adopted & 3 biological.- Producer

Few actors in the world have had a career quite as diverse as Leonardo DiCaprio's. DiCaprio has gone from relatively humble beginnings, as a supporting cast member of the sitcom Growing Pains (1985) and low budget horror movies, such as Critters 3 (1991), to a major teenage heartthrob in the 1990s, as the hunky lead actor in movies such as Romeo + Juliet (1996) and Titanic (1997), to then become a leading man in Hollywood blockbusters, made by internationally renowned directors such as Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan.
Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio was born in Los Angeles, California, the only child of Irmelin DiCaprio (née Indenbirken) and former comic book artist George DiCaprio. His father is of Italian and German descent, and his mother, who is German-born, is of German, Ukrainian and Russian ancestry. His middle name, "Wilhelm", was his maternal grandfather's first name. Leonardo's father had achieved minor status as an artist and distributor of cult comic book titles, and was even depicted in several issues of American Splendor, the cult semi-autobiographical comic book series by the late 'Harvey Pekar', a friend of George's. Leonardo's performance skills became obvious to his parents early on, and after signing him up with a talent agent who wanted Leonardo to perform under the stage name "Lenny Williams", DiCaprio began appearing on a number of television commercials and educational programs.
DiCaprio began attracting the attention of producers, who cast him in small roles in a number of television series, such as Roseanne (1988) and The New Lassie (1989), but it wasn't until 1991 that DiCaprio made his film debut in Critters 3 (1991), a low-budget horror movie. While Critters 3 (1991) did little to help showcase DiCaprio's acting abilities, it did help him develop his show-reel, and attract the attention of the people behind the hit sitcom Growing Pains (1985), in which Leonardo was cast in the "Cousin Oliver" role of a young homeless boy who moves in with the Seavers. While DiCaprio's stint on Growing Pains (1985) was very short, as the sitcom was axed the year after he joined, it helped bring DiCaprio into the public's attention and, after the sitcom ended, DiCaprio began auditioning for roles in which he would get the chance to prove his acting chops.
Leonardo took up a diverse range of roles in the early 1990s, including a mentally challenged youth in What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), a young gunslinger in The Quick and the Dead (1995) and a drug addict in one of his most challenging roles to date, Jim Carroll in The Basketball Diaries (1995), a role which the late River Phoenix originally expressed interest in. While these diverse roles helped establish Leonardo's reputation as an actor, it wasn't until his role as Romeo Montague in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet (1996) that Leonardo became a household name, a true movie star. The following year, DiCaprio starred in another movie about doomed lovers, Titanic (1997), which went on to beat all box office records held before then, as, at the time, Titanic (1997) became the highest grossing movie of all time, and cemented DiCaprio's reputation as a teen heartthrob. Following his work on Titanic (1997), DiCaprio kept a low profile for a number of years, with roles in The Man in the Iron Mask (1998) and the low-budget The Beach (2000) being some of his few notable roles during this period.
In 2002, he burst back into screens throughout the world with leading roles in Catch Me If You Can (2002) and Gangs of New York (2002), his first of many collaborations with director Martin Scorsese. With a current salary of $20 million a movie, DiCaprio is now one of the biggest movie stars in the world. However, he has not limited his professional career to just acting in movies, as DiCaprio is a committed environmentalist, who is actively involved in many environmental causes, and his commitment to this issue led to his involvement in The 11th Hour, a documentary movie about the state of the natural environment. As someone who has gone from small roles in television commercials to one of the most respected actors in the world, DiCaprio has had one of the most diverse careers in cinema. DiCaprio continued to defy conventions about the types of roles he would accept, and with his career now seeing him leading all-star casts in action thrillers such as The Departed (2006), Shutter Island (2010) and Christopher Nolan's Inception (2010), DiCaprio continues to wow audiences by refusing to conform to any cliché about actors.
In 2012, he played a mustache twirling villain in Django Unchained (2012), and then tragic literary character Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby (2013) and Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).
DiCaprio is passionate about environmental and humanitarian causes, having donated $1,000,000 to earthquake relief efforts in 2010, the same year he contributed $1,000,000 to the Wildlife Conservation Society.
