- In an attempt to boost his sales overseas, Fred finds his efforts are not welcomed by his staff or his clients - and for his part, the bank manager has a lot to say about things as well.
- Moffatt gives his son Spencer a job. He turns out to be a revolutionary and incites the workers to strike and make all kinds of demands. Fred then has a microphone installed on the shop floor to hear what he is saying. Harry reverses the mic and they hear Spencer telling his dad that the staff are useless.
- Series finale. The visiting in-laws invite Fred to be a partner in a sheep shearing business in Australia. He is so fed up with the business, he decides to go. He tells the staff to make a co-op and run it themselves. They can buy the business if he does not come back. After he is gone, there are all kinds of complications for the self appointed manager Harry. Fred suddenly comes back because of a airline error and straightens everything out.
- Fred runs for local council and wins. Only because every candidate quits.
- Betty has managed to get her cousin Albert a job in the factory and it's not too long before he is causing mayhem. It seems that a lot of ingenuity will be required to help him find the exit door.
- A friend of Fred's from their army days starts working at the factory - but his military methods are not popular on the factory floor.
- Fred tries to get Betty to quit smoking. She gets so fed up, she quits and goes to work for Gregory's. Fred sends Charlie over there to gather intel on his competitor, but instead Charlie gets hired too. He then devises a plan where he phones Gregory's wife and reports intimate behaviour between Betty and Mr. Gregory. As planned, Charlie and Betty come back.
- Ginger dates Clara and her father is the largest supplier of parts in the country. Fred sees an opportunity.
- Fred's son Spencer is in Australia, and Doris wants to go and see him. Fred puts the company in the red to pay for the trip. Williams at the bank won't extend the overdraught and the bill collectors are at the door. Charlie offers to invest in the company with a small inheritance. Fred jumps at it. Only problem is, he becomes a manager and drives the shop floor guys crazy. They go on strike again and Williams tries to take over the business.
- Harry tells Moffatt that if he can afford a car, then they can get a pay raise. Fred gets Harry in on a scam. Fred will pretend to sell Harry the car, but Fred will retain ownership. It all goes sideways when Harry wants to keep the car.
- A salesman, Stan James comes in to the office to sell stationery. Fred wants to get the staff on fake sick leave back to work. He makes an employee punch card for Stan and hopes Charlie will call Harry and tell him it is against union rules. Instead, Harry comes back to work and Stan gives him a dead cert on Saturday's race. Harry won't call a strike or do anything until Saturday.
- The shop steward has out-maneuvered and outgunned Fred to the extent that he is now on strike outside of his own factory.
- Fred Moffatt throws his hat in the ring for Gregory. He has a side deal with him to provide Moffatt with info with the engineering contracts that are up for grabs. Win win for Moffatt.
- Fred finds Harry idle again and threatens to hire Japanese workers. Harry wants to put it to a vote. Ginger makes a side deal with Fred that if he lets him stay at his house, he will vote for Fred. So the next day Ginger's current girlfriend moves in to Fred's. Then his future in laws from Australia move in and think this girl is with Fred while Doris is away.
- Fred finds out that some of his staff are going to Gregory's to moonlight because he can't afford to pay them a raise. Fred goes over to spy in Gregory's files to see who has a big contract with them.
- Fred has often moaned that the factory is plagued by women but when his secretary Betty takes a holiday, the temporary replacement, Rose, makes him regret his outbursts.
- Charlie is getting married tomorrow and no one will tell the gaffer where the stag night is. Fred finds out and gets Charlie drunk and they end up in jail. When they are released, they rush to the wedding. The honeymoon is over because Fred cancelled the hotel reservation. All of the interference is because Fred wanted Charlie to work after the wedding day.
- Fred slips on the carpet and ends up in hospital. His mother in law, as a major shareholder, runs the company. Harry, Ginger, and Betty threaten a strike (again).
