- Kermit learns the're's no show scheduled for tonight on the Muppet's new channel, so he gets Clifford to host an impromptu one. Miss Piggy offers to be the guest star, but Kermit brings in Michelle Pfeiffer.
- Martin Short gets the short end of the shtick when Seymour and Pepe take him on an elevator ride that nearly flattens his chances of performing in the big dance number.
- Clifford and company try to convince Garth Brooks to sing a little bit of country music, but he's more interested in performing Broadway show tunes and Shakespeare.
- Bobo the Bear takes the position of the studio's new doorman/security guard. However, all incoming guests have trouble getting past him. Billy Crystal and Larry King appear.
- John Goodman just wants his guest spot to be a relaxing one, but that becomes hard when Andy and Randy Pig pledge to be his personal slaves after he saves their lives.

- Creative differences threaten to close down a revival of "Bats," a musical written by Gonzo and Jason Alexander during their college years.
- Everyone panics when Andy and Randy Pig are sent to pick up Miss Piggy from the airport for her performance with Whoopi Goldberg in the big musical number.

- Johnny Fiama's Mama gets upset when her son and his monkey double date Daryl and Page Hannah. Johnny decides to leave home and moves into the KMUP studios. Sal tries to get the Fiama's back together again.
- Rick Moranis inspires Seymour and Pepe to start a cooking show, but this means he won't get to sing his planned 'Salute to the late fifties crooners, obscure British bands and Bill Withers'. Meanwhile, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew is testing his Micro Shrink-o-Matic Machine.
- The Muppets are relieved to find that Heather Locklear is not as mean as she appears on Melrose Place. But then she snacks from Bunsen Honeydew's experimental mood meals.
- Pierce Brosnan feels he is neither as suave nor as debonair as the characters he plays on screen. But he gets to prove himself when the Crustacean Liberation Army takes the Muppet Studios hostage.
- Ernst Stavros Grouper has purchased KMUP studios and has settled himself into Kermit's office. He starts renaming all the Muppets and brings in Don Rickles as staff psychologist. Kermit, now know as "Virgil the Monkey", gets fired in the middle of a show guest starring Coolio.
- Clifford is trying to get Paula Abdul to kiss him. Gonzo performs with the Refined Young Cannonballs. Muppet Labs presents a Robot Abraham Lincoln, who promptly goes on a rampage.
- Clifford feels inadequate when Dennis Quaid starts solving everyone's problems around the studio. Meanwhile, the winner of the "spend an evening with Kermit contest" turns out to be Gilbert Gottfried.
- Carl the Big Mean Bunny has eaten the pre-recorded show, so Gonzo and Rizzo host a clip show instead. Statler and Waldorf simultaneously host "The Worst of Muppets Tonight", showing the exact same clips.
- Bobo gives Arsenio Hall some BearQuil for his cold, and Arsenio drops dead. The Muppets have to find a new guest to star in their show. Beaker's impression of Little Richard is deemed not good enough, and Kathy Ireland is unavailable. Kermit happens to be giving Chris Darden a backstage tour. Out on the street, Bobo fails to recognize Jay Leno, but knows who Kevin Eubanks is. Dr. Van Neuter gets his hands on Arsenio's body and tries to re-animate it.
- Clifford and Rizzo find a trunk in the basement, in which ventriloquist dummy Gary Cahuenga has been waiting to perform on the Ed Sullivan Show since 1956. Gonzo introduces various Lollapalosers (acts not good enough for Lollapalooza).
