Nurse Sinikka (Pirkko Peltonen) wants to help a prisoner (Toivo Lehkonen) who defected across the border from the Soviet Union. She and her fiance (Ville-Veikko Salminen) plan an escape trip for him from Finland with the help of her mother (Irma Seikkula). Sinika's brother's (Antti Litja) girlfriend Ruth (Maija Karhi) happens to witness the escape, which puts her accomplices in danger.
- Körmy's regiment is ordered to move into the streets of Helsinki to take over Katajannokka in a field exercise. During the operation, the mafia is causing trouble for the officers.
