- Kraus' aunt dies and she is given her aunt's Bavarian Inn. The only catch is that in order to inherit it, she must live in it meaning she has to move to Bavaria or let it go to her cousin. Kraus decides that since she really considers the United States her country, she wants to become a US Citizen, but she fails the citizenship test.
- The Governor has a female escort for a special reception and Katie is afraid that it means that he will be getting married. The Guest of Honor for the reception owns an air conditioning company and comments on how bad the mansion's air conditioning system is. He's yet to find out who manufactured it.
- The Governor is having a $100 per plate dinner to raise money for a hospital in a third world country. Clayton puts out a memo telling the entire staff to attend in costume. Among the guests is the Ambassador of the country who is bringing The Golden Monkey which is made of solid gold and some revolutionaries wanting to steal the monkey.
- The Governor's sister convinces him to send Katie to boarding school, a decision that Katie and the staff do not agree with.
- Benson moves into an apartment which is intended to give him a place to live on weekends so that he can get away from the mansion. As he is trying to renew and old friendship with a pretty girl, he finds that getting away from the Staff isn't as easy as he would like.
- The governor is shown a report on the problems with the prison. The conditions are bad, and he needs to decide to increase the budget. The governor sends Benson in as an undercover agent to find out what is really going on.
- An old Vaudevillian finds 9 one thousand dollar bills on the street. He uses one to buy his friends drinks at a dive. The next morning a private detective claims that the money was lost by a big time gambler and pressures him to give it back. he does and discovers that the detective was a con man.
- The police ask the press to publicize the M.O. of a woman who burglarizes elderly people in an effort to either catch her or scare her out of Los Angeles. She claims that an employment agency sent her out and when told that they never asked for help, she gains their confidence by doing things for them and steals valuables while doing it.
- The detectives try to solve a series of residential burglaries. One victim reported that a jewelry case was taken containing $380. A stolen double-barrel shotgun was found at a pawn shop giving the detectives their first clue as to who may have burglarized one home.
- There have been a number of business burglaries the latest of which is a chemical supply firm. If properly combined, chemicals that were taken can be made into explosives such as TNT and gun cotton. One missing chemical will act as a catalyst in the explosives and Friday and Gannon must find the suspects before the thieves realize it.
- A man is eligible for parole from a Colorado prison. There's only one problem, there is an outstanding felony warrant on him in LA fourteen years ago. The Colorado authorities will not release him until they are informed on the disposition of the warrant. Friday and Gannon must re-investigate the case to see whether the case is prosecutable.
- When a man is arrested for possession of illegal pills, he provides information that may help him at trial. The information leads Friday and Gannon to a home used as a pill making factory and the detectives must try to locate the man running the factory.
- The LAPD has just been informed that The President of the United States will be making a trip to LA. They have only been given a few hours to prepare. They work with The Secret Service to secure the location at which The President will be holding a press conference.
- Friday and Gannon are sent to meet with a group of business owners who are looking to organize a crime prevention group to help cut crime in their neighborhood. While doing a cursory inspection they identify a number of problems that may encourage burglaries. Most of the business owners don't feel that they are vulnerable to crime.
- A sailor gets swindled a second time and goes to the detectives to report it. In order to unwind Gannon invites Friday over for a peaceful dinner. It turns out to be not so peaceful when the neighbors keep interrupting their peaceful dinner.
- Benson takes Kraus to a doctor's appointment for a checkup. The doctor tells Benson about his race horse that is sick and dying. Kraus overhears part of the conversation and thinks the doctor is saying she has only months to live.
- The former Governor Mulligan visits and brings his niece Rose, and Clayton is attracted to her.
- It's a battle of the sexes as Shirley and Laurie prove to their male chauvinist counterparts to be better able to handle the wilderness.
- Reba Gallagher gave up her own singing/songwriting career in order to bring up her children and take care of her Country and Western star husband. When he makes an extramarital affair public with her standing at his side, she publicly debases him. She then gathers up her two teenage children and her mother and moves from Nashville into a house that her cheating husband kept secret from her in Malibu. That's when the adventure begins. Her son (Justin Prentice) loves Malibu because the house is on the beach with bikini clad women. He immediately claims the beach side bedroom. Her daughter (Juliette Angelo) doesn't like Malibu because she has no friends. Her mother (Lily Tomlin) is just there for the moral support. Very shortly after that everything changes. Her son finds people in Malibu are self absorbed unlike him with his good lucks and popularity. However, he find that even the ugly people in Malibu are good looking and he wants to go back to Tennessee. Her daughter makes her first friend who is a boy and he should be allowed to be in her room because he's gay. That is fine until Reba finds them (practice) kissing. Her mother discovers medicinal marijuana and wants to stay. Reba wants to go back to Tennessee when she finds that in order to get back into music, she must have a gimmick like being young or sexy, which she is told that she is not, or she needs to be a song writer. She needs to find a gimmick or move back to Tennessee.
- It's election day and first time voter Mandy has a choice to make in who she votes for President. Conservative Mike pushes Mitt Romney and Liberal Kristen adores Barrack Obama. Her mother remains totally neutral and cheers both candidates so that nobody will know who she favors. Who will be the recipient of Mandy's first vote.
- As the Police in Chicago, which is the Capital City of the Central Administrative District, are about to raid an unauthorized stage-play, KGB Colonel Andrei Desinov steps in and discovers his American girlfriend Kimberly Ballard is starring in it. The raid gets called off and he confronts her. In Milford , Nebraska, the citizenry which includes the Milford Family and the County Administrator, Peter Bradford, is trying to adjust to the Soviet occupation. Devon Milford, a 1988 Presidential candidate who fought against the Soviet occupation, gets released from a Texas Detention Center to home exile in Milford. During a trip to the Washington National Administrative area, Andrei is told by his commander, General Paetya Samanov, of the plan to break the United States up into several separate countries in order to destroy any patriotism it's citizens still have for the U.S. During a Party celebration in Omaha, Andrei announces the five men who have been nominated to the post of Governor-General of the Central Administrative Area, one of which is Peter. After arriving in Milford, Devon starts making his adjustment living in a town under occupation after spending six years in his prison camp. He finds some animosity towards him for spending more of his efforts prior to being imprisoned to save American society than he spent trying to save his families land which is being overtaken by squatters as the Soviets don't recognize his families right to own land.
- Mike puts the American Flag up in his yard and learns that Ryan does not want Boyd to learn the Pledge of Allegiance. Eve decides she wants to show her support for America by joining ROTC. Vanessa does not agree with the decision.
- June wants Reba to introduce her to Mr. Beta so she can start her singing career. Even after a video June uploaded to YouTube goes viral, Reba tries to convince June that the music business is hard to get started in. Cash has a knack for picking winning horses, so Kim and Lillie Mae use him to pick ponies for them to bet on.
- A visit to the set of Hallmark Channel's Home and Family show with Cristina Ferrare and Mark Steines, Mar Yvette introduces Dine L.A., Jesse Metcalfe and Jordana Brewster from 'Dallas' talk about Larry Hagman, Vintage Trouble performs a number, and Phaedra Parks from The Real Housewives of Atlanta comes to the set of GDLA.
