Stars Harold Lockwood and May Allison, cameraman Tony Gaudio and writer/director Fred J. Balshofer were almost drowned during filming off the coast of Monterey, California, when a large wave suddenly appeared out of nowhere and swept them all into the ocean. They survived by grabbing onto a rock wall the wave had washed them onto near the shoreline and holding on until the wave receded.
