When this film debuted in November 1926, Herbert Brenon became the first director to have three feature-length motion pictures competing in cinemas against each other at the same time: Beau Geste (1926), The Great Gatsby (1926), and God Gave Me Twenty Cents (1926). Today, both The Great Gatsby and God Gave Me Twenty Cents are lost films. Only Beau Geste survives in its entirety.
