Two Too Young was another enjoyable Our Gang comedy
tavm11 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This Hal Roach comedy short, Two Too Young, is the one hundred forty-seventh entry in the "Our Gang/Little Rascals" series and the fifty-ninth talkie. Spanky and Alfalfa want to get the firecrackers from Buckwheat and Porky during recess but are given a no from them. So Spanky and Alf disguise themselves as a grownup G-Man to force it from them, which they do. They get found out, however, by the little tykes so...This was quite a short and funny outing for the gang with the appropriate focus on those kids and also another nice presence of Miss Rosina Lawrence as their teacher. Oh, and for once, Alfalfa doesn't sing in this one which is probably a treat for anyone tired of hearing that from the previous eps he did that in! So on that note, Two Too Young is an enjoyable enough Our Gang comedy. P.S. That disguise was previously done by Spank and Alf in Teacher's Beau.

Short but successful.

Warning: Spoilers
Porky and Buckwheat have fireworks and Alfalfa and Spanky want them. So, to get the explosives, the two plan to dress up like an adult and take them--telling them that they are 'G-Men'. It's all pretty silly and is not the first time the boys dressed up like an adult with one sitting on the other's shoulders. Despite being utterly ridiculous, the pair do get hold of the fireworks from Porky and Buckwheat--but naturally their plan eventually backfires...in more ways than one. It all culminates in a VERY exciting recitation of "The Charge of the Light Brigade".

Like their later shorts, this one is very short--at only 10 minutes. However, this didn't seem to hurt this one, as it made the most of it and is still pretty cute when seen today. Not great but better than their average film. Plus, with no singing, it's an improvement over many of their other films of the era.

Settin' Off Firecrackers With The Little Rascals

An OUR GANG Comedy Short.

Buckwheat & Porky are simply TWO TOO YOUNG to have firecrackers, but have them they do and it is up to Spanky & Alfalfa to scheme a way to get the explosives for themselves.

A funny little film, with good performances from Buckwheat & Porky. Highlight: Alfalfa's recitation of `The Charge of the Light Brigade'. Rosina Lawrence plays the teacher.
