Scott Bradley composed and recorded the music score before the cartoon was written, a reversal of the usual procedure.
Rival studio Disney had just released Fantasia the year before, so this short may have been a subtle send up of that production. The background detail depictions here, as well as the animation, however, are first class, as befits a cartoon shown to a cinema audience.
The scantily clad flower dancer is set upon by snapdragon blooms, but the gallant weed saves the day. However, the depiction of a half clad dancer, even a non human one, was just this side of the censorship envelope back then.
