This serial has plenty of action, although it is not as well staged as we generally expect from a Republic offering.
True, Fred Brannon and Yakima Canutt are well known for their thrilling stunt directions, but on this occasion their expertise seems to be somewhat lacking.
In fact, this serial also has other signs of budget trimming. The sets are both sub-standard and/or familiar. They even utilize Republic's standing cave.
And with the exceptions of Miss Granger and Mr. Jolley, the acting is well below par.
As if there were already not enough demerits, the silly script is too lacking in inventiveness to work up much in the way of interest or suspense. True, there is a feeble attempt to plant a mysterious "chief" into the plot, but this chief's real identity will be obvious to a six-year-old.
