As it states in the previous review, this cartoon spoofs Jack Webb's "Dragnet" series, which started on Radio, and had TWO versions done for TV, one in 1956, and the second in 1967. However, the title "Rocket Squad" is a parody of yet another 1950's TV COP SHOW OF THE 1950's, "Racket Squad"
