Elvis Presley’s ex-wife Priscilla Presley said the legendary musician “was an amazing human being” even though he cheated on her.
She was married to Elvis between 1967 and 1973, and Priscilla said that the music icon was “constantly” surrounded by temptation.
“I mean the opportunities were there constantly. Constantly. Even when he would go on the road in other states, they knew he was coming and they were making offers… And don’t get me wrong,” she told people.com.
“I’ve never not loved Elvis, like, to this day.”
Continuing about him, Priscilla said: “He was an amazing human being. He had a big heart, but, unfortunately, he was Elvis Presley and every woman, every girl went after him. I can see being him, how he would take it.”
Priscilla talked about being wowed by the ‘Jailhouse Rock’ hitmaker when she saw him on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’.

In 1957, Elvis Presley starred in Jailhouse Rock, one of his earliest films. At this point in his career, his character, Vince Everett, bore little resemblance to Elvis himself. According to his friends, this changed over time. As Elvis’ fame grew, he became increasingly similar to his onscreen counterpart. This was extremely frustrating for the people who knew him.
Elvis’ friend said the singer became like his ‘Jailhouse Rock’ character
In Jailhouse Rock, Elvis played Vince Everett, a man who becomes a star after his release from prison. Stardom makes him arrogant, but he realizes the error of his ways by the end of the film. According to Elvis’ longtime bodyguard, Red West, Elvis’ personality began to mirror Vince’s.
“Now, I don’t mean he was selfish and big-headed all the time,” West said in the book Elvis: What Happened? by Steve Dunleavy. “But he took to fits of anger...

Elvis Presley‘s “Trouble” was a little bit of a joke except when Elvis sang it during the ’68 Comeback Special. One of the writers who wrote the song was shocked by how much power he brought to the track. Elvis incorporated the tune into a medley and knocked it out of the park.
Elvis Presley’s ‘Trouble’ has a connection to Ben E. King’s ‘Stand By Me’
Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller were one of the most important songwriting duos from the 1950s and early 1960s. They penned Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me,” The Clovers’ “Love Potion No. 9,” and The Coasters’ “Yakety Yak.” Some of the hits they wrote for Elvis included “Jailhouse Rock,” “Hound Dog,” and “Bossa Nova Baby.” During a 2006 interview with Elvis Information Network, Leiber was a big fan of how Elvis performed “Trouble” during a famous television appearance.

Elvis Presley‘s “Hound Dog” might sound a little juvenile today but it was a game-changer in the history of rock ‘n’ roll. The tune was written for another singer, and a writer of the track preferred the original. He had a point.
Elvis Presley’s ‘Hound Dog’ was a surprise hit
Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller co-wrote “Hound Dog” for Big Mama Thornton. Elvis later covered the song. Decades ago, some rock ‘n’ roll fans would probably be surprised to learn that Elvis did not originate that song. However, Thornton has received more and more attention in recent years, so this fact probably isn’t a shock to too many fans anymore.
During a 2006 interview with Elvis Information Network, Stoller recalled making a lot of money from the song. “The first time I received a sizeable royalty check was in 1956,” he said. “It was for $5,000. I never thought I...

Elvis Presley‘s “She’s Not You” was written by three of the best songwriters of the early 1960s. It’s no surprise that artists decided to take inspiration from one of the greatest country songs ever. Considering the pedigree of “She’s Not You,” the song itself is pretty disappointing.
Elvis Presley’s ‘She’s Not You’ was inspired by ‘I Really Don’t Want to Know’
Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller were the songwriting duo behind Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me,” one of the most popular songs ever written. They also teamed up for several Elvis songs, including “Jailhouse Rock,” “Hound Dog,” “Bossa Nova Baby,” and “She’s Not You.”
During a 2006 interview with Elvis Information Network, Leiber revealed what he thought of Elvis’ “She’s Not You.”
“Elvis did a really good job on it,” he opined. “He never did a bad job on any song.

Several of Elvis Presley‘s songs are still famous today. Despite this, one of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll‘s greatest masterpieces is mostly ignored by his own fans. The track in question is a beautiful display of vulnerability and desperation. Shockingly, it was intended to be a parody of country songs.
1 underrated Elvis Presley song shows off his romantic side and his dark side
“Blue Christmas” is inescapable every holiday season. “Suspicious Minds” is a staple of classic rock radio. “Can’t Help Falling in Love” is the most overexposed love song ever. However, Elvis’ “Love Me” is rarely played today.
The track is a slow, melancholy doo-wop song that eschews the cliche, upbeat tone of most doo-wop hits. Instead, we hear Elvis sing about how he’s willing to love a woman no matter how awful she is to him. While Elvis is known across the globe for his love songs,...

Elvis Presley‘s “One Night” played into the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll‘s image as a sex symbol. Ironically, it was a rewrite of a song about sexual shame. Here’s a look at what a songwriter thought when Elvis changed his track.
The 1st version of Elvis Presley’s ‘One Night’ was inspired by a schoolteacher’s desires
Numerous Elvis hits were originally by other artists. The first singer to record “One Night” was rhythm and blues singer Smiley Lewis. The tune was penned by Dave Bartholomew, who also wrote Chuck Berry’s “My Ding-a-Ling.”
During a 1985 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Bartholomew discussed the inspiration behind “One Night.” “There was a very nice young lady who lived in Mobile, Alabama, a schoolteacher,” he recalled. “I used to go with her sister.
“At dinner one night, she mentioned — out of a clear blue sky — she had only...

Classic rock star Glenn Danzig threw fans a curveball by releasing an entire album of Elvis Presley songs. He said one of the tracks was more challenging to perform than the others. The tune in question was actually composed as a parody. Regardless, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll put it out during one of the most important epochs of his career.
Glenn Danzig said 1 song proves Elvis Presley’s voice was ‘insane’
During a 2020 interview with Billboard, Danzig discussed his album Danzig Sings Elvis. “It’s not easy singing a lot of Elvis songs, man,” he said. The album includes standards like “Fever” and “Always on My Mind” alongside more obscure tracks such as “Pocketful of Rainbows” and “Young and Beautiful.”

It can’t be denied that as far as martial arts movies go, the best ones come from Asia, particularly Hong Kong during their action heyday, which was arguably the 70s, 80s and first half of the ’90s. That said, martial arts movies were also making a foothold in the States at the time, thanks mainly to Bruce Lee-mania following the release of Enter the Dragon. Before that movie, very few actors in Hollywood seemed like they were credible martial artists, except maybe James Coburn, a student of Lee’s, who pulled off some pretty good-looking moves in the otherwise silly Our Man Flint movies. Steve McQueen also had training but didn’t use martial arts on screen.
Up to then, though, the most notable uses of martial arts in movies usually revolved around Judo, with James Cagney showing off some good moves in the film Blood on the Sun,...

Elvis Presley‘s Jailhouse Rock includes a rare song with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll on guitar. He was even more talented than you thought! The Beatles later covered the song in question.
Elvis Presley was high on music during the ‘Jailhouse Rock’ sessions
Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller wrote several songs for Jailhouse Rock, including the title song. In the 2009 book Hound Dog: The Leiber & Stoller Autobiography, Stoller discussed a session with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. “At the end of the day, Elvis was as high on the music as Jerry and I,” he said. “That was a Wednesday. Elvis didn’t show up at the studio on Thursday, but he was back on Friday to do the fourth song, ‘(You’re So Square) Baby I Don’t Care.'”
Stoller said Elvis went the extra mile with “(You’re So Square) Baby I Don’t Care.

Sometimes, modern music has fascinating parallels with classic rock. Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful” helped catapult her into the mainstream. Elvis Presley released a song with the same name decades beforehand. While the two songs are both ballads, they have major differences.
‘Young and Beautiful’ singer Lana Del Rey has paid homage to Elvis Presley many times
Del Rey has repeatedly referenced Elvis in her work. The “All Shook Up” singer is a character in her short film Tropico alongside fellow 1950s icons John Wayne and Marilyn Monroe. Del Rey also quoted the lyrics of “Blue Suede Shoes” in her single “Million Dollar Man.” She even put out a song called “Elvis!”
It’s unclear if Del Rey intentionally wrote a ballad called “Young and Beautiful” as an homage to Elvis’ song of the same title. After all, the latter song is one of the more obscure tracks...

One John Lennon album is most famous for producing a cover of a sweet love song. Ironically, John said he acted like horror movie characters Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde while recording the album. Here’s a look at the impact of the song John covered.

Elvis Presley liked his song “Don’t.” His music publisher was upset he even heard it in the first place. One of Elvis’ songwriters said that writing a hit song for the “Heartbreak Hotel” singer could lead to problems.

As Elvis Presley’s career began to decline, Priscilla Presley felt desperate to help him. She could see how his disappointing music sales and unchallenging film career frustrated him. Any time she tried to offer advice, though, he lashed out at her. Sometimes, he reacted violently. Other times, he warned her against trying to counsel him. He believed that women had no place in his affairs.
Elvis Presley told Priscilla she shouldn’t be advising him on anything
One of Elvis’ biggest career frustrations occurred when his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, and his label began to change the sound of his music. This was the part of his career he valued the most, and he wanted to have creative control. When they began to take that away from him, his spirits tanked.
“Elvis could handle only so much and then he’d lose heart,” Priscilla wrote in her book Elvis and Me.

The king of rock and roll purchased Graceland to escape the rigors of performing and give his family a secure place to enjoy their newfound wealth. Prior, the family lived in a home on Audobon Drive in Memphis for one year which he purchased with money he made from the success of his first single, “Heartbreak Hotel.”

Dee Snider was unveiled as the Doll on the latest episode of The Masked Singer, which aired Wednesday night (April 5th) on Fox.
The reveal came after the Twisted Sister frontman was eliminated after singing Elvis Presley’s “Jailhouse Rock” while disguised in the elaborate doll costume. The massive outfit was so detailed, it almost looked digitally rendered. But the raspy voice emanating from it was unmistakably Snider’s.
Still, the show’s panelist failed to guess his identity — though they were in the ballpark. Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg guessed Iggy Pop, Robin Thicke went with Gene Simmons, Nicole Scherzinger named David Lee Roth, and Ken Jeong opted for Austin Butler, who played Elvis in the recent biopic.
“I couldn’t believe you guys didn’t get it,” Dee told the panel during his unmasked interview with host Nick Cannon. “You were circling around it. But let me tell you — Gene Simmons,...

Two all-new celebrities in disguise took on the reigning champ, Doll, for “Warner Bros. Movie Night” on Wednesday’s “The Masked Singer.” After a performance of “Jailhouse Rock” by Elvis Presley, Doll came in third place behind Dandelion and Mantis. The towering toy pulled off their mask to reveal Twisted Sister frontman and rock icon Dee Snider. Panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger were all gobsmacked to see they were wrong about their predictions.
“I couldn’t believe you guys didn’t get it,” Dee said to the panel during his unmasked interview with host Nick Cannon. “You were circling around it. But let me tell you — Gene Simmons, Iggy Pop, no one could wear pumps like I did. And by the way, ladies, it’s like riding a bike. I wore them in the 70s. It all came back to me once I put them on.

It’s guessing time on “The Masked Singer” as the judges try to figure out who is Doll on this week’s episode. And in keeping with this week’s special movie night-themed episode, Ken Jeong once again takes a huge swing with his guess that Doll is Elvis. Or rather, the actor who most recently played The King in a movie.
You can watch TheWrap’s exclusive sneak peek of the episode in the video above and see everyone’s reactions to Jeong’s guess. (Booing. Lots of booing.)
In the clip, Jeong reprises Leslie Chow, his character from “The Hangover” trilogy as he explains why he believes the Doll is “Elvis” star and Golden Globe-winner Austin Butler.
“Real talk, the doll is Austin Butler, and I’ll tell you why,” Jeong says over disbelieving laughter and boos from everyone else. “Don’t boo me. Look at me, I...

The Pink Ladies of “Grease,” the most colorful Rydell High students, are back on April 6 on Paramount+. However, this won’t be the same collection of young women from the original film — or even its cult classic sequel. This round, we see how the popular clique got its start. The girls now have a show of their own: “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies,” a salute to 1950s teens who refuse to conform to conventional standards. The new musical series shows us Rydell High before Sandy and Danny start strutting down the halls. The show stars Marisa Davila, Cheyenne Isabel Wells, Ari Notartomaso, and Tricia Fukuhara.
Watch the “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies” trailer:
Paramount+ is also producing an original series “Fatal Attraction,” based on the 1980s hit thriller. The TV version refocuses the lens, exploring a modern approach to women, infidelity, personality disorders, and coercive control. It’s...

Elvis Presley‘s cousin has responded to Prince Harry’s not-so-nice remark about the king of rock and roll’s Graceland estate. The royal called the home a “badger sett” in his book Spare. Presley’s cousin shared a diplomatic response that allowed Harry to share his opinion, but that doesn’t mean he agrees with the Duke of Sussex.

Directed by Arthur Ripley, "Thunder Road" is a classic crime film from 1958 that focuses on Lucas Doolin, a Korean War veteran who delivers moonshine in rural mountain states such as North Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky. He tries to keep the family business afloat while evading law enforcement. The film features thrilling hot rod chases and action sequences that inspired Bruce Springsteen's song "Thunder Road."
It was a very personal project for the high-demand actor Robert Mitchum, who also served as the producer, conceived the story, and wrote some songs. "Thunder Road" was also a family affair. The role of Robin Doolin, Lucas' naive younger brother and mechanic who wants to be a part of the dangerous, fast-paced moonshining business, eventually went to Robert Mitchum's son James Mitchum.
Robert's other son, Chris Mitchum, explained in a 2018 interview that his dad originally wanted musician Elvis Presley to play Robin, and they...

Elvis Presley‘s songs were often covers. Sometimes, the original versions of Elvis’ songs were by famous singers. For example, one of his most famous movie songs was first performed by Bing Crosby.

Big Mama Thornton wrote “Hound Dog” alongside Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, the songwriting duo behind numerous other hits like “Jailhouse Rock,” Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me,” and Johnny Cash’s “Jackson.” Thornton performed the original version of the song, which was commercially overshadowed by Elvis’.
Baz Luhrmann’s biopic Elvis features Thornton as a minor character. Hopefully, the film will bring more attention to her and her talent.
4. ‘Blue Hawaii’
Thanks to the film of the same name, “Blue Hawaii” will forever be associated with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Despite this, he was not the first superstar to sing the song. “Blue Hawaii” wasn...
