Severi's hotel
Petey-1021 April 2009
A group of working men find their way to a closed hotel thinking it's their new workplace.Severi Suhonen becomes the manager of that hotel and gives entertainment to the folks. The beautiful Anja and the groom come to the hotel.Anja is about to get ten million marks of heritage if she gets married by midnight. But the groom accidentally gets a glass of moonshine and is knocked out.Veikko Itkonen is the director of Mullin Mallin (1961) and the good old Reino "Repe" Helismaa was the writer of it.Repe also appears in the movie. The good old Esa Pakarinen is our leading man.He does his Severi Suhonen character again and he does it good.He sings, he plays his accordion and he entertains. There's also some fresher comedy by the good old Spede Pasanen, who was becoming a known name around that time.He works as the main cook and he entertains with his Bluff Brothers- team. There are also Matti Kuusla and Pentti Nevaluoma.Eemeli is with his witty comedy.Oso Pertola is there as himself, or Kokemäen Uuno speaking to a non-working telephone.Leni Katajakoski is Anja and Ville-Veikko Salminen is Ville.Heimo Lepistö is Reverend Heikku.Pentti Irjala plays Topi, the hotel owner. This movie represents the rillumarei style that's never been liked by the critics. But the common folk sure has, and that's the group these movies were made for.I represent those people and on behalf on us common folks I can say this was a good movie. There's not so much of a plot here, but who needs one when you have fun. There's a big bunch of fine entertainers there giving some good time for the audience.Severi singing about his trip to America is funny.Spede and his trio Bluff Brothers does and sings a lot of funny stuff, like those commercials on that fake TV.Watch this movie and have fun with this funny cast.Never mind the critics.
