Sex & Nudity

  • Character is a rapist.
  • Sex: None.
  • Nudity: No actual nudity except for nude mannequins that the camera seems to linger on for a very long time. Implied nude female corpse. Antagonist has victim's sister strip down to bra and slip.
  • A man kidnaps a teenage girl and instructs her to take off her clothes, when she refuses he threatens to do it for her, so she does so herself, she only removes her skirt and sweater and remains in a bra and slip. Then later he tries to take advantage of her but she cries and begs and he leaves her alone.
  • Sexually suggestive and pornographic art on the walls of the "nightclub."
  • "Showgirls" (prostitutes?) swinging on swings at the "nightclub" are filmed from underneath in strange angles, there are a few moments and scenes in this film where the director/cameramen seem to forget they are making a legitimate drama and suspense film. The suspense is lost in these strange moments.

Violence & Gore

  • Two men get shot to death at the stairs.
  • Nothing graphic.
  • There is no blood and gore. Most of the film revolves around threats of rape and violence (murder).
  • A couple of scenes where a woman and teenage girl almost get hit by a car.

  • Bar scene with drinks and several people smoke throughout the movie.
  • No drugs.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Most of the film has a suspenseful feeling to it and it can be a little frightening This was marketed to a mature audience in 1962 and is film noir, where there is more drama than action.
