Worthy of a comment, rather than not

I can but imagine the vast amounts of people that are going to read this one.

"Älä nuolase..." is a rare case in Finnish cinema. The script is, in fact, not weak (yeah, okay, that's harsh). Although it is very hard to believe today that Finns would be this gullible if a Finn posed as an American - and were this bad doing it, set in the 1960s it feels a bit more convincing.

Bits of the traditional "old Finnish cinema Finnish" can be heard but not to the point of irritation.

Leo Jokela with his Yankee Finnish is once again in good shape but the actor who plays the "actor"-turned-"butler" really steals the show.

See "Älä nuolase...". It's good... funny even.

Chasing money.Chasing girls
Petey-1028 August 2006
Jaakko Järvi (Leo Jokela) and Timo Kallio (Tommi Rinne) are two friends working in a gas station. They're dreaming of a better life, which they could have if they had more money. With more money they could buy their own gas station. Then Jaakko notices they have won many million marks on betting.Soon they realize there are many more winners besides them so the sum is much less.So they decide to start a scheme. They pretend they are Jack and Tim Lake, filthy, filthy rich brothers from Texas, America who have come back to their father's land. They want to find rich girls and marry them.Älä nuolase... is an Aarne Tarkas film from 1962.And it is hilarious. It made me laugh several times.Leo Jokela was a master of Finnish comedy and he's a killer in this movie. He and his Texan accent couldn't get any funnier than this.Tommi Rinne is just as funny as Leo is.And those two work really great together. This is a buddy movie and the movie wouldn't work if there was a lack of chemistry between the main actors. That's not the case here. They make a comedy team to remember.Risto Mäkelä is a hilarious, and a bit of tragicomic character as the Butler.Helge Herala does a role to remember as Bill Patton, the man who actually comes from Texas.Oh man did he make me laugh! Uljas Kandolin is terrific as the gas station owner.Pentti Irjala, the man of many movies does great job as Harald Tonnila. The legendary movie makers Mikko Niskanen and Åke Lindman make brief appearances in the movie. And there are all those ladies.Leni Katajakoski is brilliant as Hilkka Kyyhky. And so is Tarja Nurmi as Eva Tonnila.Marjatta Kallio does very good job as Kirsti Vuorela.Maija Karhi is wonderful as Thyra von Sadelheim.Elsa Turakainen does the part of her mother, Countess Agda von Sadelheim and is brilliant.Liana Kaarina is sexy as the deceitful woman taking her clothes off.And then there's the wonderful Elina Salo, who's known for many of the modern viewers as the voice of Little My in the animated Moomin (Muumi) tales. She's Elina Hankio, a woman who's also pretending she's rich and who's really not.The movie has a great cast, a great story and great anything. If you want to find a message from this movie it could be that money doesn't make you happy.Movies do.And girls.
