When the Smart Alecs are in their dressing room the walls have posters for other events at the Hippodrome. They are all refer to actual events. The Jimmy Edwards Panto took place in 1962. The Brighton Hippodrome still exists although closed as a venue. It is likely to be redeveloped but efforts (as of 2022) are being made to retain as much as possible of the Grade 2 listed building.
The sequel to Live It Up! (aka Sing and Swing) of 1963, also directed by Lance Comfort and featuring the pseudo-group The Smart Alecs - though in this they are now a trio in the absence of Heinz.
