Enjoed The Color Combinations In Here
ccthemovieman-16 May 2007
This was a very colorful western that involved a battle between a cowboy, a sheep and our hero, the Pink Panther. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who is going to be on the short end of things.

The Little White (tan, actually) White Man, as a Texas cowboy, takes a beating here, from both the lamb and the Panther. He gets in a few licks, but not much. There is a variety of "accidents" that happen here, and all of them are pretty entertaining even if predictable. I liked the hired gunfighters scene near the end.

Most of all, I enjoyed the colors in here: the rustic browns, yellows, greens, oranges and pinks all made this a visual treat.

The Pink Panther becomes a sheepherder in Texas!
llltdesq22 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This is a fairly funny short with some excellent sight gags and a pretty funny ending. I want to describe some of the gags, so let this serve as a spoiler warning:

This cartoon has the Pink Panther as a sheepherder (literally-he has exactly ONE sheep, though it is a most hungry sheep, as is shown early on when it strips all the ground in its path completely bare of grass) who finds himself in "Cattle County Texas". Texas cattlemen view sheep about the same as millionaires view the tax man. The cattleman in this short is a redheaded version of the little guy with a very short fuse. The Pink Panther tries to set himself up in sheep herding and tries to raise a fence, but the rancher drives the posts (and the Panther) into the ground with a mallet.

The little sheep (who is something of a crybaby) generally either eats or whines to the Panther over something the cattleman or one of his steers have done, though he does get angry once and uses some fence wire like a slingshot, with a steer as ammo and the cattleman as the target. It's hilariously executed.

The cattleman is neither very bright nor very fortunate, He dams off a watering hole, only to do something incredibly stupid and release the water himself. He clearly isn't the brightest penny in the cash register.

He finally does something NO real Texan would even consider-he sends for help from *GASP* Arizona! He tells them that the sheepherder is pink. So, naturally, he gets a bucket of pink paint dumped on his head just in time to get blasted by his help.

The ending is absolutely wonderful! I won't spoil it here! This short is on the Pink Panther Classic Cartoon Collection and is most certainly worth getting. The entire Collection is worth getting. Recommended.

Pink Panther meets Yosemite Sam.
OllieSuave-00725 September 2016
The Pink Panther takes on a role like Little Bo Peep, and the story itself like like the Pink Panther meets Yosemite Sam. The panther is a sheepherder and is letting a sheep graze in a Texas land, where a ferocious cowboy chases it away. Therefore, the Pink Panther sets up some fences to mark his territory. But, the rancher would not have it and it's an all out gun war between him and the Pink Panther.

It's a funny little cartoon with some slapstick comedy, gags and action. There's some good ol' fashion Western fun and some classic Pink Panther charm.

Grade B+

Colourful and very funny
TheLittleSongbird17 September 2013
Even if it is rather predictable, Little Beaux Pink is still one of the better 1968 Pink Panther cartoons. It's very colourful to look at, both rustic and elegant as well as crisply if simply drawn. The music doesn't disappoint at all, the scoring accompanying the action is catchy and jazzy while the theme tune for one heard umpteen times is still an un-annoying classic. Little Beaux Pink isn't just one of the best 1968 Pink Panther cartoons, it's also one of the funniest. The fence wire gag is hilarious, and the ending(one of the better and funnier endings of any Pink Panther cartoon from 1968) likewise. Pinky succeeds as ever being funny and cool, and the supporting characters especially the cattleman support him beautifully. All in all, colourful and very funny if predictable somewhat, if you are a Pink Panther fan Little Beaux Pink will not disappoint. 9/10 Bethany Cox

Panther County... Texas
Kalashnikovin23 August 2022
Recently I have been reviewing many cartoons to give them a worthy review on IMDb and I was almost petrified to realize that I have only given 1 review to Pink Panther! Impossible I said, so I grabbed my cell phone and searched for the First Pink Short Panther to show me up to watch it, and so it was, now after watching this short I can say that I am satisfied.

This Wenstern Shows us the Great and Funny Pink Panther taking care of his Sheep but at the same time, it Ends up Generating several Problems for him, a Plot like this does not promise much, but Friz Freleng still has the Same Magic as in Looney Tunes!, The short shows to be funny with its little plot which is quite simple but at the same time it is well managed, I liked how the Cowboy (who has an appearance similar to White Man) tries to humiliate the Panther But everything backfires.

The Animation as always is Glorious, Depatie-Freleng Enterprises was at its best and it shows with the Great Animation and fluid Movements, the Backgrounds, although a bit simple, still have that nice color palette that makes them stand out.

The Classic Theme of Pink Panther with some Changes is shown here, Walter Greene offered uninteresting music in his stay in Pink Panther, but at least it is not Bad!.

The Humor of the Short is Great, a couple of jokes about the West are not bad as well as a little violence and shootings, the Animation plus the excellently synchronized music attract attention and you can easily laugh.

In itself, Little Beaux Pink is not the best of Pink Panther, but it is a fun Short with a different plot than Normal, Animation and Music are well synchronized and I promise you will have fun watching this cartoon.

For everything I said above, this Cartoon gets a 9.

Many pictures have been made about the . . .
pixrox126 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
. . . Johnson Country Range War, such as C-H-I-S-U-M, in which the title character guns down a regiment of Buffalo Soldiers to protect his sheep from cattle ranchers. In Real Life, of course, Billy the Kid and Wyatt Earp mortally wounded each other in the O. K. Corral, and Buffalo Bill gunned down Wild Bill for cheating during an after hours poker game. LITTLE BEAU PINK is a more succinct and accurate depiction of these events than the aforementioned feature starring Marion Mitchell "Duke-the-Family-Mutt" Morrison. Though the Texas cattle rancher tries all kinds of underhanded, mean pea-brained tricks while attempting to force the shepherd Pink Panther to capitulate, it's the squat Lone Star refuse who ultimately throws in the towel of surrender.
