Unearthed Films announced today, in collaboration with Frightenstein Enterprises International, Trimuse Entertainment, and The Big Pieces Company, it will release all 130 digitally re-mastered episodes of the iconic Canadian cult series The Hilarious House Of Frightenstein. The announcement kicks-off a celebration of the series’ 50th anniversary, all leading up to a digital release on major U.S. platforms and the release of special collector’s edition Blu-rays of all 130 episodes later this year.
"As a child, I loved The Hilarious House Of Frightenstein,” said Stephen Biro, Owner/CEO of Unearthed Films. “I’m thrilled to be able to give the fans what they want... the whole series to enjoy and share with their children and grandchildren the magic of a spooky kids’ show that is both entertaining and educational."

I grew up in the ‘70s, and as a burgeoning horror fan, there was no better time to be alive. I cherished every outlet and every aspect – I had The Witching Hour comics and Creepy magazines, a mom who took me to the movies to see Burnt Offerings at the age of six, and a cavalcade of small screen terrors. Being a kid, my domain was Saturday morning, naturally. Scooby-Doo and the gang fighting the (usually) fake monsters, The Monster Squad, Far Out Space Nuts, and Land of the Lost were but some of the shows that tackled not necessarily horror, but at the very least the fantastic.
Because I was a kid, seeing previews for The Night Stalker TV series almost made me weep – it came on way after my bedtime as part of CBS’ late night programming. So imagine my delight one Saturday morning as I arose an...

Happy Friday, readers! We made it though another week somehow, so why not celebrate by taking a load off and enjoying some excellent horror shorts from an array of subgenres?
Just because I felt like we could all use a laugh right about now, I’m kicking off today’s installment of Salutes Your Shorts with the dark comedy Sam Did It. Then, we have a special effects showcase to behold in Human Cattle from directors Carlos Henriques and Phil Pattison, and for a double dose of creepiness, be sure to check out both I Heard It Too and The Sermon (which I haven’t been able to get out of my head since I discovered it a few weeks ago.
Sam Did It (Directed by Dominic Burgess)
Synopsis: Sam is about to meet his celebrity idol... the only problem is, Sam works in a morgue... and his idol is dead.

In the early 1970s, it didn't have to be October for there to be a monster mash on the small screen, as the TV show The Hilarious House of Frightenstein was thrilling children with episodes that were both educational and eerie, including memorable appearances by Vincent Price. Now, Groove Vinyl Records is releasing an album of the cult show on vinyl for the first time (in an official collaboration with the Vincent Price Estate and his daughter, Victoria), and we have the release details and a look at the cover art:
An exact release date has yet to be announced, but you can view three versions of the cover art and the official details below. The album will include "all of the classic character segments, all of the Vincent Price dialogue, and a special song chosen by The Wolfman from his DJ booth in the castle." TV is usually the first portal for horror when you’re a kid. At least it was for me; pre internet horror was found either: a) at the movies, b) in comic books, or c) the idiot box. And before we were allowed to see big screen horror, TV scratched that itch. Saturday mornings had Scooby Doo, The Hilarious House of Frightenstein, and various other shows, animated or not, to quench our growing curiosity for the weird, creepy, and unusual. But if we were lucky enough to be able to watch after 9 pm, things got much more interesting.
Terrifying stories of miniature monsters, witchcraft, Satanism, and creepy cults awaited our bloodshot eyes. TV was absolutely inundated with horror, channels dripping with malicious behavior in the form of weekly shows or made for TV movies. Of course, the networks (the big – and only – three: ABC, NBC, and CBS) back then had...

A lot of people ask me, "Creepy, how did you first come to love horror movies so much?" Well, growing up in the Seventies, there was plenty to go around. There were TV classics like Gargoyles, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, and any number of TV Movies of the Week, and there was also...
There was also a ton of weird and quirky bits of monster-themed kids programming. Usually "The Munsters" and "The Land of the Lost" get all the love, and rightly so. They're absolute classics. That being said, we're gonna talk about some other things here. Things you may not have known even existed. For instance, were you aware that way before Venkmen, Spengler, Stantz and Zeddmore there was a whole other set of Ghostbusters? How about a different Monster Squad? Got your attention? Good. Sit back, relax, and get ready to soak up some lunacy as we revisit.

I've spent more than a few days trying to come up with a great idea for an article on a man that many people would instantly recognize as the face of horror, Vincent Price. Before I was even old enough to have watched my first horror film I knew who he was and I knew what he represented. Mr. Price would have turned 100 years old this May and it is only fitting that we here at HorrorBid take a look back at the late, great man who helped solidify this great genre we all love...
I could easily sit here and throw film names at you and give you synopsis after synopsis of his acting career or you could just simply Google Vincent Price and find all that information in about 2 minutes. The man has 183 acting credits on his IMDb alone and of those I've probably only seen but a handful.
