Stability was the word during the week of May 13-17, 2024 as each daytime broadcast series was mostly on par with their week ago performance in both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 rating.
As for Total Viewers, the first half-hour of “The Price is Right” (3.716 million) saw the biggest week-to-week increase, adding +78,000 viewers. Conversely, “The Bold and the Beautiful” (2.530 million) saw the biggest week-to-week decrease, losing -103,000 viewers, which also marked the show’s third smallest audience of the season.
“General Hospital” (1.902 million) saw its first week-to-week uptick in six weeks among Total Viewers, marking its best performance since the week of April 22-26, 2024. That said, the show remained below two million viewers for the fifth consecutive week and the 11th time overall this season. The show was flat with its week ago performance in both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, remaining ABC’s top daytime show in both categories.

A recent contestant on The Price Is Right made history. On Monday night’s episode, Donald got up on stage with Drew Carey to face the game of “Temptation.” No one has won the game in three years, so he was clearly dismayed at his luck. However, what happened next shocked viewers at home. Keep reading to see how Donald faired on The Price Is Right.
The History Of ‘Temptation’ On The Price Is Right
“Temptation” is undoubtedly one of the toughest games to win on The Price Is Right. Since Drew Carey started hosting the game show in 2007, only five contestants have won “Temptation.”
In this game, the contestant is shown the first number in the price of a car. Once they are shown that number, they are tempted with four “gifts.” The price for each prize is displayed and one of the digits in those prices is the...

The Price Is Right host Drew Carey became “Uncle Drew” and watched a contestant fall to the floor during a recent on-stage moment.
The popular game show often has some sweet prizes for contestants, including trips, cash, and cars.
Sometimes, those prizes can bring a lot of excitement, and contestants are overwhelmed with emotions.
Fortunately, the woman who fell on stage was completely fine, and Carey didn’t need to resuscitate her after her excited reaction.
Carey, 65, has seen plenty of surprising and exciting moments as the show’s host since 2007.
That included an impressive Showcase Showdown feat, where a contestant could take home a nice collection of prizes.
More recently, he experienced another unique interaction with a contestant and some excitement during her time on stage.

The Price is Right fans were shocked after a contestant’s ‘dumb’ decision cost him a brand-new car. As reported by The U.S. Sun on last Wednesday’s (May 15) edition of the long-running game show, a contestant named Craig made it up to the main stage to take on the Spelling Bee game. For those unfamiliar, Spelling Bee sees a contestant trying to spell the word “Car” using honeycomb-shaped cards. The contestant is given two free cards at the start, kept face down. They can then earn up to three more cards, each coming with a corresponding prize. If they guess the price (within $10) of the prize, they win that prize and another card from the board. All the cards chosen are kept face down, each worth $1,000. The contestant then has the option to leave the game with the value of the cards they earned or continue and flip...

A recent episode of The Price is Right saw a contestant make an interesting decision. He had a chance to win a car, but he chose not to and many viewers lashed out at him, calling it “crazy and dumb.” However, there might be a good reason why he made the right choice.
Here is what the man did and what fans thought about his decision.
Price Is Right Contestant Passes On Winning A New Car
A man was on The Price is Right and he was playing a game where he had to guess the cost of objects and come within $10 of getting it right. Each time he got one right, he could choose a number from the board and it would be worth a specific amount of money. He got four of the five guesses right.
On the back of the cards, there was a possibility of letters.

Wheel of Fortune fans are up in arms over one of the game show’s rules, and they’re calling on producers to implement some major changes.
The popular weeknight game show has operated with the same rules for almost 50 years.
One rule, in particular, though, has Wheel watchers griping online because they feel it gives contestants an unfair advantage.
If a contestant wins a trip during their appearance, the value of the trip is credited to their overall winnings as a cash dollar amount.
This means the player not only walks away with an all-expenses-paid trip but is also awarded the dollar amount—something that doesn’t sit well with Wheel of Fortune viewers.
A critic who considers this rule to be unfair gameplay took to Reddit recently to voice their opinions in a post titled, “I wish the money won for trips weren’t added with their cash wins.

A contestant on The Price Is Right seemed rather disappointed after a decision during one of the game show’s pricing contests.
However, one of the show’s models was there to comfort him and remind him that everything was still Ok for him after his Price Is Right luck.
The contestant, from Michigan, joined host Drew Carey on stage after giving the closest bid for a product during his time at Contestant’s Row.
He then participated in the game Spelling Bee, which features a beehive-themed gameboard with numbers up to 30 and prizes of cash or a car.
The contestant has to estimate the prices of products within $10 to choose numbers from the board.
Each number has the letter “C,” “A,” or “R” behind it, or possibly the word “Car.”
Spelling Bee also has an interesting twist, similar to something one might see on Let’s Make a Deal.

Omg, it's finally happened.
Adam Sandler fans are getting a Happy Gilmore 2, nearly 30 years in the making.
The sequel of the 1996 hit comedy is a dual project between Netflix and Happy Madison Productions, Sandler's company.
Sandler hooked a generation of viewers with his crass, blue-collar character infiltrating one of the most white-collar sports.
With his anger management issues and working-class mannerisms, we felt like he was one of us. And we couldn't help but root for him to win.
Happy Gilmore couldn't cut it as a hockey player, but it turned out he was hellah good at golf -- with a custom hockey stick golf club.
And fans loved him, turning golf into a spectator sport that drew all the wrong crowds.
At least, that's how Shooter McGavin -- played by Christopher McDonald -- felt. He tried so hard to earn that gold jacket, only to lose it to a scuzzy amateur golfer wannabe.

The games on The Price is Right might appear mostly luck-based, but a Yale-trained game theory expert believes he knows the winning strategies to succeed on the long-running game show. As reported by CNBC, Justin L. Bergner, an investment analyst who specialized in game theory at Yale University, has written a book titled Solving The Price Is Right, which is described as a “reference manual for regular viewers” offering tips on how to win. According to the official book description, “Bergner draws strategic and mathematical insights from all facets of the show, from Contestants’ Row bidding to the Showcase Showdown, and all 77 Pricing Games, using a combination of game theory, probability theory, statistics, and pattern recognition.” Bergner meticulously studied hundreds of episodes from Seasons 47 and 48 to write the book and determine the best winning strategies. CNBC then compiled the top five tips, which were revealed in the book. Mastering the...

Although there‘s been a shift in how TV viewership is counted, in 2024, Nielsen’s Live+Same Day tracking still remains the best indicator of the overall audience for daytime programming.
Unlike several primetime and streaming shows, daytime programs don’t typically see much growth in terms of delayed viewing beyond the initial sample we report each week. That said, daytime dramas, in particular, do perform well on streaming, although those viewing figures remain unavailable to the public/press.
During the week of May 6-10, 2024, “General Hospital” was below the two million viewer mark, averaging just 1.876 million viewers. This marked the fourth consecutive week where the show was below two million viewers and the 10th time overall this season it has been below that number. The Price is Right host Drew Carey tried his best to help on Friday’s (May 10) episode after a contestant couldn’t get to grips with the Big Wheel during the Showcase Showdown. As reported by The Sun U.S., a contestant named Elvira set an unfortunate record as she took multiple attempts to spin the wheel correctly, but repeatedly failed. Elvira started by lightly spinning the wheel, which landed on the number 65. While this would have been a solid score, Carey said it didn’t count because the wheel has to make at least one full rotation. “The wheel has to go around at least once,” the long-time host said as Elvira spun again. However, once again, the wheel didn’t go all the way around; in fact, it finished turning even sooner than the first time, landing on 45. “Here, let me help you out,” Carey said, taking the wheel.

So, she spun again and only landed on 45, meaning that the wheel didn’t make a complete rotation once again. That’s...

The Price is Right viewers weren’t amused during Tuesday night’s (May 7) episode after one contestant wasted his opportunity on a “stupid” joke bid. As reported by The U.S. Sun, Tuesday’s episode saw a contestant named Nicholas called down from the audience to try his luck at winning some big prizes. However, Nicholas ended up shocking viewers and host Drew Carey with an outlandish bid. He and three others had to guess the price of a set of workout equipment, which included a spin bike and a vertical knee-raise station. As per the usual Price is Right rules, the winner was the bid closest to the real price without going over. Nicholas was asked to make his bid first, to which he said, “I’m gonna say $1 million.” The usually noisy studio audience fell silent as Carey looked baffled. “Seriously?” the host asked. “Yeah, it looks like some nice equipment,...

Drew Carey compared seeing Phish at the Sphere in Las Vegas as akin to “being edged for four days straight. And then right before the face-melting climax at the end of the fourth day, an angel comes down from heaven, Gabriel, and he shoots f–king heroin in your arm, and he says, ‘Good luck now motherf–er!’ And he leaves, and you have an orgasm for 15 minutes while your eyeballs fall out of your head!” The Price is Right host also said he would “stick my dick in a blender and swear off pussy for the rest of my life” to see the band at Sphere again.”
While it remains to be seen if Phish will return to the $2.3 billion venue for a run of shows, if the event that they do, Carey has a blender ready to go. In response to his viral reaction, the jam band gifted him an autographed blender.

There are plenty of things that can go wrong when you are filming a television show. Drew Carey saw that for himself during The Price Is Right. While most embarrassing or violent content is edited out of most shows, the moment where Carey slaps the glasses off a contestant made the cut. Continue reading to see what led up to the shocking moment.
Drew Carey Knocks Contestant’s Glasses Off On Stage
In the most recent episode of The Price Is Right, one contestant joked with Drew Carey about being “scared for his life” on stage. It seems he was right to be scared because, in the same episode, another contestant was slapped in the face by the host.
Although it was accidental, Carey’s slap knocked the woman’s glasses off as they stood next to each other on stage. Looking mortified, Drew Carey started to apologize repeatedly to the woman.

Sometimes, random accidents happen during the filming of television shows, and they appear during the televised episodes.
While curse words or other incidents are generally censored or removed from network TV footage, sometimes other random occurrences make it into shows.
That was the case for a recent installment of the popular game show The Price Is Right.
During the episode, one contestant joked with Drew Carey that he was “scared for [his] life” while on stage, and another contestant got hit across the face.
The host’s accidental slap knocked a pair of glasses off the woman’s face.
It left Carey apologizing heavily to The Price Is Right contestant after the accidental slap.

While many games on The Price Is Right feature guessing products’ prices, another popular segment has three contestants, each getting to spin the wheel.
That wheel features numbers from 5 to 100, representing monetary amounts.

Some find it scary to get on stage in front of a studio audience for a national TV game show and compete for big prizes.
While The Price Is Right games aren’t life or death, the pressure is on as people try to win big money, new cars, and other exciting prizes.
It’s an exciting prospect, but stage fright or fear of failure often adds to a contestant’s nerves during the games.
However, one contestant admitted to host Drew Carey he was “scared for [his] life” upon getting on stage.
The show host likely hasn’t encountered many contestants who have admitted such fear, so he did his best to calm the man down.
That contestant had good reason for his fear: Someone was watching him nearby, and he didn’t want to mess up.

Drew Carey is known for handing out large amounts of cash on The Price Is Right to the game show’s various winners.
The actor, comedian, and game show host also admitted to making millions of dollars from his former sitcom, The Drew Carey Show.
He credits the show writers for helping him do that, so it’s no surprise that he generously spent money to help out writers during the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) strike.
He racked up a hefty ongoing tab to cover that large food bill but wouldn’t stop paying during the strike.
It even resulted in a call from his accountant suggesting he stop spending so much money on that.
While hosting the WGA Awards ceremony this past weekend, Carey commented on why he paid the food bill during the strike, calling it “the right thing to do.”

Drew Carey was able to collect his well-deserved attaboys Sunday at the Writers Guild Awards, where he told the crowd that he covered the bills at Bob’s Big Boy and Swingers for striking scribes last summer because “it’s the right thing to do.”
With a plate full of food in hand, the host of The Price is Right took the stage at the Hollywood Palladium to explain why he insisted on paying for so many meals — though he did acknowledge a brief period of shock and awe when the bills started arriving.
“I didn’t know it was going to cost me so much money,” Carey told the crowd. “The last it was like, I think the total bill was like $67,000. I thought it was going to be about the same thing. But then some of you decided ‘oh yeah I’m going to a get a shake and some dessert....
