Sex & Nudity

  • It is implied that a young woman married an older man for his fortune. She goes on to seduce other men throughout the film in a callous and opportunistic fashion.

  • Many scenes set in a fog covered cemetery. A running joke involves the mounting number of tombstones as characters are bumped off throughout the film.

Sex & Nudity

  • A character's father runs off with his son's fiancé after flirting with her throughout the film.

Violence & Gore

  • A character applies face cream that has been tainted with a corrosive acid. Her face burns and she screams in pain before dying.
  • A man is presented with a three-piece suit that constricts when worn. He chokes as the suit painfully tightens, until his entire body explodes (discussed by other characters after the fact, and briefly depicted as cloth and gore striking a coffin).
  • A man is drugged and placed in a trash compactor. His body is unknowingly crushed the next morning, with only the character's foot remaining.
  • Two characters make love in a shower. The walls of the shower are rigged to close-in, crushing the lovers to death.
  • A character is murdered with a shovel and buried in an open grave.
  • A character is interred alive in a crypt.
  • A cat and raven appear as a motif for death throughout the film. The final shot ends with the cat attacking and killing the raven behind a tombstone. Flying feathers and squawking.
  • A character is decapitated by a dumbwaiter that has been converted into a guillotine. His body is discovered on the floor, with his head appearing in the dumbwaiter (no blood).
