As Pat Sajak counts down to the days until his final Wheel of Fortune episode on Friday (June 7), some contestants are testing his limits regarding their wild puzzle guesses. Wednesday’s (June 5) episode saw a showdown between Jp Welliver, a vacuum salesman from Lititz, Pennsylvania, Allison Willis, a construction worker and truck driver from Suffern, New York, and Nonie Lewis, a partying grandma from Dallas, Texas. It was Lewis who made Sajak momentarily lose his cool after she attempted to answer a puzzle under the “Food and Drink” category. Lewis, who revealed she’d previously auditioned for the show in the 1980s and the 2000s, was faced with a two-word puzzle with just two letters missing. The puzzle-board read: “S _ P E R _ O O D / S M O O T H I E.” “I would like to solve, Pat,” she said, looking confident. “What do you got?” Sajak asked.

In 1981, Merv Griffin was watching the Los Angeles local news when he noticed a Band-Aid over the weatherman’s right eye. The next time the camera cut back to the forecaster, the Band-Aid was over his left eye, which greatly amused the Wheel of Fortune creator. That weatherman was a young Pat Sajak, and his prank led to a phone call that changed his life. “Merv called me, and he said, ‘You ever think about doing game shows?’” Sajak recalled in a 2007 interview with the Television Academy Foundation. Sajak, now 77, has had this silly sense of humor since childhood, when the self-described “intelligent” class clown would entertain teachers by handing in two sets of tests, a real one and a version with funny answers. Born in Chicago on October 26, 1946 (a Scorpio), Patrick Leonard Sajdak (he later dropped the d) was drawn to entertainment from a young age. He didn’t rise early to watch cartoons.

Pat Sajak has one more week left as the Wheel of Fortune host. After Friday’s episode, Pat will leave the show he has hosted for over 40 years. Ryan Seacrest will replace him as the host. However, one thing that won’t change is Vanna White’s position on the show.
When the show returns, Vanna will remain on as the co-host and letter-turning, but how long will she remain in this position after 42 years on the popular game show?

With “Dancing with the Stars” set to come back for a 33rd season this fall, there’s a long list of celebrities who deserve to compete. Three of my past suggestions actually did end up cast on the show: Frankie Muniz (who placed third in season 25), Kel Mitchell (who placed second on season 28), and Jamie Lynn Spears (who was the second to be eliminated last season). Below is a list of male celebs I think the show should consider to vie for the next Mirror Ball Trophy. Do you agree with my picks? Check them out below, then vote in our poll at the bottom of this post to let us know which you’d most like to see on “DWTS.” And let us know in the comments what other stars you would like to see when the show comes back in September.

Wheel of Fortune this week saw a woman struggling with her final puzzle. When she couldn’t figure it out, it was clear she was frustrated. However, in a funny moment, Pat Sajak called her out on it after he noticed she seemed to be pouting about the answer.
Here is what happened with the constant and Pat’s humorous response.
Pat Sajak Calls Out Pouting Contestant On Wheel Of Fortune
This week on Wheel of Fortune, a contestant won the main game and moved on to the bonus round. Some fans might remember Tyra from the episode where one of her opponents made the guess “Right in the butt.” Tyra is the person who paused and said, “What?” after the guess.

While Wheel Of Fortune host, Pat Sajak, has over four decades of experience, he still runs into situations he doesn’t know how to field. In a recent episode, he admits he doesn’t know how to console a contestant after his huge loss.
Pat Sajak Still Gets Caught Off Gaurd
Although Wheel Of Fortune host, Pat Sajak, only has one week left of hosting, the final few episodes bring their challenges. At times, it is easy for Pat to declare they will keep the money, but other losses sting a bit more. For instance, when second-chance contestant Larry missed out on $100K, it was hard for Pat to console him. Notably, Larry was a fan-favorite on his first appearance so it was even more difficult to see him miss the big money.

Wheel of Fortune social media correspondent Maggie Sajak has shared more behind-the-scenes secrets from the long-running game show, including what goes on behind the famous puzzle board. As Pat Sajak is set to retire as host next Friday, June 7, the father-and-daughter duo have been sharing some never-before-seen glimpses of the iconic game show set, which includes what Pat keeps behind the puzzle board. “So I’m behind the puzzle board, and look who I found!” Maggie says in a video posted to her Instagram page on Thursday (May 30). She turns the camera to her dad, who is standing beside various crew members working at computers and monitors. “It looks like an election headquarters back there, all those TV screens and everything. I think I see some anchormen,” Pat quips. “A lot of people were asking what behind the puzzle board is like, so we’re giving you a glimpse,” Maggie explains.

Tavaris Williams made Wheel of Fortune history with his viral Nsfw answer, and now the game show contestant is ready to cash in on his newly found fame.
As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Tavaris’s puzzle-solving attempt sent shockwaves across the Wheel of Fortune community when he blurted out a tasteless guess.
Faced with a $1,000 toss-up puzzle in the “Phrase” category, Tavaris buzzed in before his opponents when the puzzle board read, “_ _ _ _ / I _ / T _ E / B _ _ T!”
Tavaris astounded host Pat Sajak, his fellow competitors, the live studio audience, and Wheel of Fortune viewers at home when he answered, “Right in the butt!”
Tavaris’s answer was clearly incorrect, and Pat handled the on-air moment with grace, joking with Tavaris.

TV Guide Magazine profiled Wheel’s graceful letter-turning icon Vanna White in the March 4, 1989, issue. At the time, the 32-year-old former model was pulling double duty working on both the daytime version (with host Rolf Benirschke) and nighttime iteration (with Pat Sajak) of the game show, starting her business empire — and charming everyone along the way. It’s leather week on Wheel of Fortune. At least that’s the way it seems. In the three shows just finished taping, every skintight outfit Vanna White wore was leather. “I’ll be out in just a minute.” It’s White talking as she disappears into her dressing room to squeeze out of a leather dress for supper. A minute, two minutes pass, then a startling, “Ok, you ready?” and there she is — cheerleader extraordinaire, adolescent fantasy in the flesh — dressed for dinner in a blue terry-cloth bathrobe. Sitting at one of the...

Following a devastating Bonus Round loss, Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak struggled for words to comfort one contestant who lost out on $100,000 on Wednesday night (May 29). The contestant in question was Larry Brown Jr. from Bowie, Maryland, returning for a second shot as part of Fan Favorites Week. Brown first appeared on the show on April 9, 2024, where he made the Triple Tossup solve of “Chocolate Lover,” which he revealed has since become his nickname. Brown faced off against fellow fan faves Lee Mack Turner from Yoakum, Texas, who first appeared on the November 8, 2023 episode, and Laryn Nelson from Atlanta, Georgia, who first appeared on the September 13, 2023 episode. From the start, Brown dominated, amassing $26,699 cash and a trip to Hawaii by the end of the Mystery Round. His success continued across the Express Round and Triple Tossup, ultimately giving him an episode-winning total of $34,099 cash. Entering the Bonus Round, Brown...

Following a recent episode of Wheel of Fortune in which a contestant gave host Pat Sajak a tasteless Nsfw answer on live TV, viewers were treated to another controversial moment.
Pat Sajak had to intervene during a recent episode of Wheel of Fortune when a contestant began celebrating what they believed to be a correct puzzle solution.
During Monday night’s show, three contestants Rufus Cumberlander, Luidgi Altidor, and Cynthia King kicked off their game with a toss-up puzzle.
The category was “Phrase,” and as more and more letters began to appear on the board, Rufus was confident that he had the correct answer to the puzzle, which read, “_ _ N ‘_ / L _ O K / A W _ _ .”
Rufus rang his buzzer, and when Pat called on him to give his answer, Rufus exclaimed, “Don’t Look Away!

Recently, Wheel Of Fortune fans were bashing the show for giving contestants undeserving second chances. Admittedly, now that the retirement is imminent, fans are wishing for more time with the beloved host.

Pat Sajak is nearing the end of his run as the Wheel of Fortune host. However, he has just over a week left to have some more memorable moments in the series. One of those happened this week when a contestant proudly answered the puzzle and started fist-bumping the other players in celebration.
The problem is that his answer was wrong, and Pat had to call him out on it.
Pat Sajak Stops Celebration After Wrong Answer
In the recent episode of Wheel of Fortune, the players had letters on the board and had to guess what the term was. Every letter was there except for three (one in each word). The three looked at the board and then one player buzzed in and gave his answer.
The player then didn’t wait for the confirmation and began to celebrate his answer. More so, the other contestants also celebrated with him.

Wheel of Fortune is taking a page from its quiz show cousin Jeopardy! in inviting back former players for another chance to spin the wheel, but not everybody is happy about it. Many fans think it’s unfair that the show is allowing people to compete twice when hopeful viewers often take many years to appear on ‘Wheel’ and a large number never achieve their dream. On Monday, May 27, the long-running game show kicked off its Fan Favorite week, which sees past contestants return for a shot at redemption or, in some cases, for repeated glory. The latter was certainly the case for Cynthia King from Warren, Michigan, who won more than $83,000 during her first appearance back in February when she nailed the Bonus Round puzzle. As she explained to host Pat Sajak at the start of Monday’s episode, she hosted 75 friends and family for a watch party of...

Pat Sajak is just days away from retirement, but that doesn’t mean Wheel of Fortune contestants are going easy on him, as the host found out the hard way on Friday’s (May 24) episode. During Friday’s game, Michael Bystrzycki, a master electrician from Drummonds, Tennessee, faced off against Sarah McCabe, a former English teacher from Mankato, Minnesota, and Lillian Devane, a self-described “word nerd” from Atlantic City, New Jersey. The funny moment came during a Crossword puzzle in the $2K Toss-Up round, where the players had to figure out the four interconnected words, all of which had “fire” as the first part. Bystrzycki had control of the wheel and looked like he was about to attempt to solve the puzzle before suddenly backtracking and choosing to spin again. Unfortunately, he landed on the Bankrupt wedge and lost everything. Thankfully, the round continued, and Bystrzycki got another turn. This time,...

Wheel of Fortune always acknowledges its big wins… usually with lots and lots of confetti. But Sajak wished to keep his last episode focused on the game and, most importantly, its players, whom he has always kept at ease. “I think it’s my most important role on the show,” Sajak told his daughter Maggie Sajak in an exclusive interview during his final tapings. The alphabet hasn’t been the same since Vanna White started flipping letters to reveal puzzle answers on Wheel of Fortune in 1982. When host Pat Sajak, 77, called on Tavaris to answer, his response sent the studio audience and his challengers into a tizzy and stunned the longtime Wheel of Fortune host.
