Best Fan Shout-Out: Soon-to-end One Life To Live used its soap-within-a-soap, Fraternity Row, to do a story in which a fan (the fantastic Ilene Kristen as Roxy) tries to save her favorite doomed soap.
Oddest Move: So Glee has cast Real Housewives Of Atlanta “star” NeNe Leakes? Huh. Anybody else think the casting couch over there reeks of desperation? And speaking of desperate measures…
Lamest Hail Mary: With the clock running out, Sunday’s Dexter finale had the writer’s room doing their best Tim Tebow impersonation by delivering the single biggest twist longtime fans had been clamoring for. Too bad, what should have amounted to a moment of epically cool proportions came off as little more than a sad attempt to save what has universally been deemed as Dexter’s most disappointing season to date.
Biggest No-Brainer: So scandal-ridden Alec Baldwin won’t be running for Mayor of New York City?...

ABC Daytime's One Life to Life, a series with more creative energy coursing through it than much of what passes for bigger-budget Primetime fare, won't breathe its last until January 13, but the show is already giving itself a grand send-off with a storyline that has shaken many of its characters to the core. This week, amid their ongoing dramas and traumas -- currently including a murder mystery, amnesia and a teen pregnancy -- the residents of fictional Llanview, Pa, received bad news that momentarily eclipsed everything that was happening in their lives: Their favorite soap opera -- the long-running Fraternity Row -- has been cancelled.
At first blush, it may appear that this brilliant bit of reflexive storytelling is being played for laughs, especially because it has so many of the show's adult characters in tizzies of varying intensity. After all, Fraternity Row is just a TV show (or in this case a show-within-a-show), right?...

It's bad enough One Life to Live is going off the air. Now the show's soap-within-a-soap, Fraternity Row, has gotten the ax, too! But can Roxy Balsom save it? The dippy beautician, played by that irrepressible diva Ilene Kristen, is Fraternity Row's number one fan (who knew?) and is leading the charge in Llanview to keep the show on the air. TV Guide Magazine spoke with Kristen who will headline a special fantasy episode of Oltl airing Monday, Dec. 19 in which Roxy faints while visiting the set of Fraternity Row. When she wakes up, she's Lorraine, the leading lady of the show!

Fresh off her celebrated visit to Supernatural, Whedonverse alum Charisma Carpenter has landed a recurring role on the upcoming season of ABC Family’s The Lying Game, playing Char’s aunt Rebecca aka “Annie, ” TVGuide.com reports. The nickname might be slightly confusing for viewers given the fact that it’s also the name of the twins’ long-lost birth mother, but rest assured these two are vastly different women.
If you’re wondering if anything will be made of Carpenter’s slight resemblance to series lead Alexandra Chando, a source tells us that Rebecca will factor into the larger mystery...
