Easy to see why this one is a classic!
erebus5311 January 2002
I was lucky enough to get this one out of my local video store on DVD! It would be the best format to own it in, the scene selection is good (and has a cute guitar break over it :) ). It's easy to see why this one is a classic. The plot is ... my goodness!!! a plot! The subtle irony of the plot will be lost on a lot of people.

Debbie's Mom won't support her being a cheerleader because she thinks it is "outdoor burlesque". Debbie gets offered a position in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleading Team (a team that is renowned for its good-girl image) and so to raise money she pimps out her friends to people around town.... and at the end she finds out that all the loyal sacrificing that her friends have been making aren't worth anything as they now have a sole sponsor!!! I thought it was a cool film with a good pace... and the now ever so used carwash scene was fun. Keep it up Debbie!

Overhyped film nothing special.
Hermit C-223 April 1999
The title of this movie, with its allusion to the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, titillated both the media and the public, with the result that millions who have never seen it think of it as some kind of great classic porno flick. A lot of adult movie fans who have seen it, however, will tell you it's nothing special at all.

One knock against its alleged immortality is that it doesn't boast a cast of first-rate female performers. The star, Bambi Woods, is attractive, but not memorable, and she did little other work in the field besides the sequel. Arcadia Lake is cute, but none of the rest of the women are "A-list." Merle Michaels, though, is my pick as the standout performer and actress.

The script might get an occasional chuckle out of you but there are tons of adult films out there more worth one's while.

The Best of the Best!
caspian197821 September 2002
The title of the movie Debbie Does Dallas is more famous that the movie Debbie Does Dallas. None of the cast nor crew of the production new that the movie was going to be a giant success. In fact, the production lasted less than a week as the entire cast went their separate ways to star in other adult movies that began production the following week. A rip off from the 1972 unknown Rated-R movie PRO-BOWL CHEERLEADERS, the movie was originally titled as THE GAMES PEOPLE PLAY. I believe it was named this in order to pull the covers over the idea to many investors and location managers that this movie was an adult / exotic picture. The football field, locker room, showers, and library in the movie were all filmed on campus at Stony Brook University (SUNY)in New York with the assumption that the Buckley Brothers were filming a movie.....not an adult film! After word on the true nature of the film got out, a few members of the schools administration were let go from the University for the embarrassment that the film brought to the school. Bambi Woods (who played Debbie) went on to do only 3 more adult films before dying of a drug overdose in the mid 80's. It was her innocence as Debbie and the publicity of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders that made Debbie Does Dallas the huge success it is today.

An above-average (for the genre) film with good pacing and a few very impressive moments.
honesty_in_a_bottle10 February 2003
Obviously, Minestra's screenplay is not one of the great works of film writing, but let's take a moment to appreciate it for its virtues. The film has better pacing than almost any other film of the time in this genre, and the key scenes are well-established and strangely engrossing.

True, there are flaws in the film. A few of the actors and actresses have a kind of gross/scary look that seems to somehow be the result of the decade itself, and the score is maddeningly repetitive. Still, the good elements at least measure up to the bad ones.

I was a little disappointed (as I imagine many were) that Bambi Woods wasn't given more to work with. Even though she is given top billing and the titular character, she doesn't have any real dramatic moments until the end of the film.

I have to say that the best actress of the picture was Debbie Lewis in her small, but pivotal role as Girl in Shower.

Though I wouldn't call Debbie Does Dallas a masterpiece, I would recommend it to any fan of the genre.

Debbie doesn't get to Dallas...but she has plenty of fun on the way!
The_Void5 January 2007
I saw this film for the first time just now, but my memory of it dates back to when I was at school. Some kid was passing around a dodgy video CD of it, much to the excitement of my classmates. I never bothered watching it myself...not sure why, I guess it just didn't interest me at the time. So, now I've seen the schoolboy's porno as an adult, and actually it's quite an enjoyable film! For some reason, I was expecting this film to be a bit soft, and so I was surprised that Debbie Does Dallas doesn't hold back, and is easily as dirty as some of the 'hardcore' porn that I've seen. The plot focuses on Debbie Benton, a schoolgirl and a cheerleader. She wins a place on the Dallas cheerleading team, but unfortunately she doesn't have enough money to get there. This soon becomes an excuse for Debbie and her friend to take their clothes off (who'd have thought it?) and before long they've realised that they can all pull together and make Debbie the money she needs by forming a business in which they turn tricks for the local men.

The thing that sets Debbie Does Dallas apart from other porn films is the fact that the central girls are schoolgirls, and this is something that director Jim Clark is keen to impose as much as possible. Of course, the fact that this is a porno means that the ideology isn't nearly as important as the sex scenes, and that is obvious as the vast majority of the movie is made up of them. One reason why I'm not a massive fan of porn movies is that the pornographic scenes can sometimes bore me, but most of the sex here is quite good. I'm guessing the reason why this isn't seen as a hardcore porn film is because most of the sex itself isn't as outrageous as the stuff seen in other films. One thing that annoyed me about the film is that it's called Debbie Does Dallas, and I always thought it would be about a woman 'doing' everyone in Dallas...when in fact, Debbie never even gets there! Ah, I suppose it's not important. All I really wanted from this was a porn film, and that's exactly what I got! Overall, Debbie Does Dallas is fun to watch and as long as you don't go in expecting a masterpiece, you'll be OK.

The plot almost outshines the sex...that is not good.
Aaron137524 August 2008
The film is one of the most known adult films of the 70's along with such fare as The Devil in Miss Jones and Deep Throat. The adult film industry kind of took off during this time as the films became more mainstream and less a dirty little secret; however, while the girls do have a more a more natural look and it is kind of nice that the film's of this era had a plot which built up anticipation, overall a lot of films of this time period suffered from lousy camera angles and an incessant need to film the girls doing oral on the guys. Granted, they do it a lot these days too, but you can fast forward through it and see the same girl receive hers and then the two proceed to have sex. Too many times in the older adult films the scenes only consisted of the guy getting oral and that would be it. You sometimes did not even get to see the girl's boobies. I do not understand why so many adult films do oral scenes, I do not really care to see a guy get a blow job. I like seeing the female enjoy herself not the guy. Perhaps women like it and it is for them, but then most adult films are geared to the males so why do so many want to see a penis? Honestly, if I were a woman I would be a hardcore lesbian, I just do not like seeing the male anatomy close up and sucked on.

The story is sadly the best part as Debbie really wants to go to Dallas for some sort of cheerleader thing. Well, the girls on her cheer squad want to make it happen so they all get some odd jobs so they can pull their money to send Debbie to Dallas. Well, Debbie soon learns that one of the most effective ways to earn some money is to do some sexual favors for the perverted guys in their lives! Soon they are making money left and right, but Debbie will quickly find out that for the opportunity to sleep with her, her boss is willing to pay for the whole trip himself!

For an adult film it has some good points. The girls are not as attractive as those found in another adult film of the time, Little Girls Blue, they are much more attractive than those found in Devil in Miss Jones. Of course, that one always featured some of the most unappealing women I have ever seen in an adult film, never saw the appeal in that one except it is more artsy than most porn films. The sex scenes in this one are not great. There is not a really nice, long sex sequence in this one. There is a shower one where too much is going on, then one that starts off good with a girl with a candle but ends flatly and then one last decent one where two girls have sex with a guy and after that there are like three scenes in a row that consist of nothing more than a guy getting oral that I fast forwarded through. That lead to the final scene which was way too rushed considering Debbie is the main attraction of the piece.

So, there are things about the old time adult films that are good as a lot of the girls do have a more natural look and I do like the story element as it does make you feel anticipation when things begin to heat up, but there are so many more problems. A lot of scenes only consist of one activity while in adult films today if there is a girl in a scene you see her do everything so you are not left wishing you had seen a cutie more. The film has a better plot and plays like a sex comedy and at times you forget it is a porno which is not good, because despite having a better plot and so on, what you came for is the sex and too often it was too rushed and featured too little actual sex!

Very much of its time
augustian18 June 2018
After many years, I have finally managed to get a viewing of this film and it is very much what I expected for a porn film from the seventies. There was a decent stab at a plot in which a group of cheerleaders find their own various (sexually liberated) means of raising money for a trip to Dallas. This is a hard core porn film so there is plenty of explicit sex.

The girls featured in the film are all natural (thank goodness) and Bambi Woods is especially attractive although we only get to see a good amount of her near the end. There are several scenes for the other girls including the car wash scene which turns into a girl/girl/guy scene and another girl/girl/guy scene at a candle shop. The shower scene which was two girls and several guys featured a lot of oral sex and in my opinion went on for too long and the guys involved looked more into their thirties and forties than teenage high school jocks.

On the whole though, the film delivered plenty of sex, a plot and although the acting left a lot to be desired, this just complemented the humorous tone of the film. One disappointment was that Kasey Rodgers, probably the cutest of all the girls, seemed to disappear after the shower scene but otherwise the film is a pleasant way of passing 80 minutes.

Bambi Woods: typical 70s dream girl
freakfire-111 March 2008
Like all movies of this genre, they aren't going to be very good. However, even then you have movies that are either classic or just plain stupid. This one fits the classic bill.

Actually having a traceable storyline, at least in the beginning and partially in the middle, Debbie wants to go to Dallas. Not only that, but her friends want to go there with her. Why? Well she wants to be a cheerleader of course. So they all take on odd jobs to fund their trip Trouble is, its not enough...

And thats where the coherent story stops to make a lot of sense. All the girls start doing special "favors" that earn them extra cash. Even in the end, "Bambi Woods" (which isn't her real name) allows Mr. Greenfield to have his sexual fantasy. "Touchdown!" It is extremely corny, but its a cult classic. I am not really into these sort of films, but at least it made some sense. Why didn't they ever go to Dallas? What about all the 'illegal' sex? Well, doesn't make sense. But thats typical to the genre. "D-"

The reason why we laugh (in present time)
StevePulaski15 December 2013
Debbie Does Dallas was a pornographic film that, along with its predecessor Deep Throat, helped jumpstart the pornographic industry and introduced us to the concept of "pornographic chic" and the "Golden Age of Pornography." Had it no been for this particular film, along with others, who knows what the porn industry would've stooped to. To paraphrase Ron Jeremy in his documentary Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy, the quality of pornographic films during the "Golden Age" matched the quality of the B-movies Hollywood was churning out at the time.

People constantly ask me, when I detour from traditional cinema into the erotic wonders of pornographic cinema, how exactly do I review a film of the genre? First off, it's incredibly difficult to tackle a contemporary pornographic film from a critic state of mind. Nowadays, the films play like the actors and actresses can't wait to take off their clothes. Contemporary pornography forgets the essential element of the project that is the tease. The film must have some dialog to captivate us, excite us, and arouse us. Not just five minutes of flaunting the body of the female before a fellatio begins. Reviewing a pornographic film from the "Golden Age" period isn't difficult at all; I consider the writing, the comedy of the story, the kinkiness of the scene, and finally, whether or not the sex is exciting or simply phoned-in on the actors' behalf.

The titular character of the film is played by the gorgeous Bambi Woods, a blonde, innocent young woman who has dreams of trying out for a cheerleader position of the Texas football team (actually the Dallas Cowboys, although they're never referred to by name because of rights issues). Debbie and her girlfriends are changing in the locker-room one day (with Clark's camera bluntly focusing on the obligatory parts of the female body) when they realize their cheer-squad has been accepted to tryout for the Texas cheerleaders. The girls must then try and raise the money to commute to Texas on short notice by doing oddjobs for people around town. Debbie, in particular, gets a job working at a sports store for Mr. Greenfield (Richard Balla), who is instantly captivated by the beautiful, young Debbie. One can only imagine what he wants to do such a young, blonde woman.

You're likely aware of cheap parodies of pornographic films from decades past that utilize lines such as "how could I ever repay you?" or "what are you gonna do to me?" Debbie Does Dallas was likely the direct inspiration for those parodies. The film includes all of the corniness, the lameness, and the transgressive squareness of pornography in terms of dialog and tone. This isn't a bad thing however, and adds to the comedic effect of the film, something, as stated, I feel is greatly missing in the modern porn industry.

On that note, Debbie Does Dallas is entertaining. Its level of eroticism is pretty basic, with the shower orgy and Debbie's sex scene being the notable highlights. I will say, however, that Clark knows how to appropriately choreograph a sex scene. The scenes are very intimate and run longer than many scenes from the era that I've seen. Scored in a germane fashion - corny and strangely relaxing - by the likes of Gerald Sampler and assisted by the wonderfully charming likes of Woods, it's easy to understand why Debbie Does Dallas is the iconic film it is. It defined an age and kickstarted the quirks of pornography that we've grown accustomed to. On that note alone it's worth watching.

Starring: Bambi Woods, Christie Ford, Robert Kerman, Robin Byrd, Herschel Savage, Eric Edwards, and Arcadia Lake. Directed by: Jim Clark.

Pretty dreadful
preppy-319 March 2007
I caught this back in the late 1980s on video. I was living with a bunch of guys and, out of curiosity, they rented it. I'm gay (they're all straight) but I was kind of curious to see what the big thing about this movie was. I heard it was the first X rated film to show hard core sex. Afterwards I was at a loss to figure out why this is so popular and my straight roomies agreed with me.

It did have a plot (which is different for any porno) and the girls were somewhat attractive but the guys were REAL ugly (to be kind) and the sex scenes were dull and monotonous. I'm obviously not the best judge of straight porno but all my roommates felt the same way. It reached the point when they were fast-forwarding through the sex scenes because they were so bored. Also the acting was hilariously bad--but who watches this for acting? My sister and her husband also rented it once out of curiosity and they hated it too. Later on my roomies rented "Deep Throat" and "Behind the Green Door". Now THOSE are interesting, fun and very erotic. This can safely be skipped.

This looks so familiar ......
CelluloidRehab30 March 2007
This movie is a snippet of cosmic synergy. At least it is for me. First of all I recognize the name Robin Byrd. That is the woman I see on Manhattan public access every night (channel 30-33) as I channel surf. Now it all makes sense. Then I recognize the setting of the movie. I believe it is the campus of SUNY Stony Brook out on Long Island. As I reminisce transversing the campus, it again makes cosmic relevance.

Debbie Does Dallas is the most commonly referenced Pr0N movie title. The problem is that fewer and fewer have actually seen it. I can now join the club of those that have seen it. Perhaps there is a reason why the title endures while the movie sinks deeper into the vault. It is not a good movie. There is a shortage of acting, scenery, props and plot. Even the naughty bits are a bit outdated. Everything is in gruesome butcher zoom complete with all natural 70's tertiary sexual characteristics. It's a bit Me-Tarzan-You-Jane. The most interesting aspect of the movie is newcomer Bambi Woods (a.k.a. Debbie). She has a certain youthful exuberance.

Debbie has been accepted as a Texas Cowgirl cheerleader (faux Dallas Cowboy cheerleader ??), but her family won't help her financially to get there. Cheerleaders to the Rescue !! They pool together and do "odd" jobs to get the money. Of course each of these "jobs" involves some "incidental" sex in the course of the interaction. It feels quite amateurish, like someone's first VHS camera documenting their summer at camp.

The main attraction of this movie is Bambi Woods, which is of course made more tragic/interesting because of her drug overdose death in '86 (joining a list that includes Playboy Playmate Galaxina herself, Dorothy Stratten, the Black Dahlia and recently Anna Nicole). I can't recommend this movie for more than a one-time thing. It's like that time you ate a worm, or when and how you lost your virginity or where did that tattoo come from? A lot of that you did just to say you did it. Some things you enjoy doing over and over, while others go to the gutter. This will be in the Smithsonian some day (maybe when the garbage starts to avalanche), but for now this is simply a rental. For a true cross-section of good movies in this genre, check out 42nd Street Forever - XXXtreme Edition instead. Yule-love IT!!

(Disclaimer : Do not mix with Motown as the side effects include : Drowsiness, nausea and hostility towards people and language)

A movie funny enough to laugh at and good enough to salivate over.
sol-1319 April 2000
What more can I say? I can't believe people are actually posting critiques of this film like it's Oscar caliber material, or something.

With that out of the way, the cast is filled with enough naked women to fill everyones wildest fantasies, plus the plot centers around the antics of high school and cheerleaders. (Tapping into the 'I wish I were young again' dreams we all share from time-to-time.) It also includes several "Why didn't this kind of thing ever happen to me?" scenes, including 'Showering en Masse, The Wild Side of Washing a Car, and How to Have Fun in a Sporting Goods Store.'

Speaking of the car washing scene, look for the EXTREMELY comedic line from the brunette, when the three of them are alone. (Making a request to the guy.) Truly the porno quote of the century, and enough to keep you laughing throughout the rest of the movie.

So, enjoy the eye candy, laugh at the sheer comedy of the whole thing, and pretend like you're a part of it all, even if it's just for an hour and twenty minutes).

Debbie Does Vanishing Act
djadrianleigh4 July 2014
After the success of The Bambi Woods/Debbie Benson Trilogy of Debbie Does Dallas 1 2 and 3 and few more X Films, the actress who played Debbie, Bambi Woods, up and vanished from the movie scene all together. Not long after that the Master Camera Negative up and vanished as well. That is the main source for the movie. One Vaulted Positive Print was used by VCX and restored by Media Blasters for Debbie Does Dallas The Ultimate Edition 2 Disc DVD Set. It has been rumored to have been lost like The Master Camera Negative to The Devil in Miss Jones who also has only one vaulted positive print used to create a new Ultimate Edition 2 Disc DVD Set as well. If these two master camera negatives are ever found and truly restored in 6K Resolution both movies could easily look and sound a whole lot better in Blu Ray HD Format.

Debbie does Dallas is no touchdown. Still, there is something worth cheering about the film
ironhorse_iv7 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
If you were to name, three well-known pornos movie of the 'Golden Age of Porn', that made mega stars out of unknown lead performer. Three movies would come to mind: 1972's Deep Throat starting Linda Loveless, 1972's Behind the Green Door starting Marilyn Chambers and 1978's Debbie Does Dallas starting Bambi Woods. Indeed, the 1970s were the Golden Age of Porn or porno chic, where low budget pornographic movies became major box office draws. Debbie Does Dallas really stood out. Directed by Jim Clark AKA David Buckley, the movie is about Debbie (Bambi Woods) trying to raise money fast, so she can audited for the Texas cheerleaders squad in Dallas. Debbie with the help of her friends' devise a sure fire plan in which they prostitute themselves to men around their community. Can they raise the money to go to Dallas? Who knows because the movie plot never get resolved! It's also odd that Debbie is never actually in Dallas nor does anybody from Dallas. So, it totally contradicting the title, but whatever. Most of the movie infamous comes the notoriety, the film has garnered through the years ranging from illegal drug activities and mob ties during production and distributes, to the filmmakers being sued by the Dallas Cowboys football team for trademark infringement in the marketing for the film. Then there was the filming at colleges without the administration's knowledge or approval that got the administrator fired from his job. The last notorious thing is that the star, Bambi Woods disappearing into oblivion, years later due to being in shame of letting herself star in a porno movie. Many thought she died by a drug overdose, but in truth, she's living quietly away from the spotlight of Hollywood. I wouldn't say the movie is really that great. The sex scenes hasn't aged well. Lots of bad angles, hairy genitalia, and horrible background music in most of the scenes. The movie had a lot of nudity to start off the film as a tease, but the sex scenes don't come in, until 10 minutes later. The film has seven sex scenes. The first sex scene is a shower scene. It's not that bad. Just would be hotter if they kept the water, on. Freddy Mercury look alike, Rick (David Morris) looks the part of the 1970s porno star, too bad, the football players look like rapists coming in the shower like that. I kinda hate how the football players are portray here with deep male insecurity because the girls chose career over them. I have to say Pat (Kasey Rodgers), the redhead was really attracting to the eyes. There are lots of awkward cuts throughout the film. There is a funny example of a cheerleader, Roberta (Misty Winter) waiting for her cue to walk and meet Mr. Hardwick (Eric Edwards), who offers her a job at his candle shop. Both share the scene with Robin Byrd in a sex scene. Surprising, there was no lesbian action, no three way, nothing. Even the masturbating with the candle stick was disappointing. Sometimes the movie doesn't even make sense, like the scene where two cheerleaders go over to wash some guy car in the rain. Anyways, they get into a water fight and have sex with the owner, played by Mr. Bradley look alike from Brandy Brunch, David Pierce AKA David Suton. Lots of bush in that scene. Sent out the weed whacker. From all the female performers, Jenni Cole and Sherri Tart are the least attractive female on the cast, but still pretty beautiful. The fourth scene is really awkward. Not only do you got a cheerleader, Donna (Merril Townsend) giving a blow job to her sexually frustrated boyfriend (Bill Barry, a.k.a. Herschel Savage) whom looks like Howard Stern. You find yourself, watching a spanking scene with a creepy librarian. (Jack Teague). It wasn't sexy at all. The movie get even creepier from here, with the next scene, a tennis preppy type character tells his friends that the girls in the film are supposedly portraying 16 years old like Lisa AKA Commandro Girl (Georgette Saunders). How shameless is that! Anyways the Frank Zappa look alike Peter Lerman scene with Saunders was a bit ugly to watch, as he go around limp throughout the scene. It must be the steam. The whole next scene at the music store with Tammy (Arcadia Lake) and Tony (Tony Mansfield) is skip-able, as there's nothing new that you haven't saw, previous in the film. If you came to see the movie for Bambi Woods have sex. You would have to wait, until the end. Her scene with Robert Kermen under the alias Richard Balla is alright for the most part. Still, I have to say, the voice over, moans wasn't sync right. Bambi Woods looks like she doesn't want to be there and you can clearly see that in this scene. The acting is pretty wooden. The dialogue mediocre. Characters unlikeable. The men often commits premeditated sexual harassment, the women are portray as dumb sex workers. Feminists might dislike this movie for its negative image of women, but some might find it, attractive to watch because of the freedom, it shows in libertarian sexual themes from the sexual revolution. Religious conservatives will probably hate this movie. Still, it's certainly watchable, if only for its inherent camp value or for somebody who lived through the 1970's, this movie might serve as a nostalgia erotica. Debbie Does Dallas got restored, so look for that one from Media Blasters DVD. It's nearly flawless as it only has little specs of dirt in it's the final product. It also have very interesting audio commentaries for the film. There are sequels and spin-offs, but none of them are as good as this movie. There is even a musical. Overall: Ultimately Debbie Does Dallas may not be one of the best adult films ever made still its reputation as a classic of the golden age of adult cinema is deserved.

Relatively tame by comparison, with a plot, marginal acting and surprisingly decent technical work
llltdesq30 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This is an adult film title from the 1970s. There will be mild spoilers ahead:

This review will be more circumspect than my usual review these days, of necessity. The nature of the material and my own limits on what I can and will say make that unavoidable. But there are comments I want to make.

One of the most prominent memories I have of this is the fuss that was raised by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and the Dallas Cowboys organization. The furor over the similarities in uniforms used may have been more entertaining than the movie, though the film does have its charms.

There's a notable plot here. A high school cheerleader named Debbie wants to try out to be a cheerleader for a pro sports football team, but lacks the money to be able to make the trip. A group of her friends decides they want to cheer her on at the tryouts, so they decide to get jobs and start a business to do odd jobs for income. Debbie goes to work in a sporting goods store, another girl works at a candle shop and so on.

Needless to say, there are all sorts of contrived situations which lead to the expected in this type of film. The acting is enthusiastic, if not terribly skilled and most of the "high school" students (particularly the guys) look way too old for their parts, but it's actually a reasonably decent movie. The production values are better than those of films with the whole "shaky camera", "found footage" variety (though that isn't setting the bar that high, I'll grant you).

This film is available on DVD is is worth watching. It deserves to be considered a classic of its genre.

Debbie Does Dallas has a fun main character which was enough for me to moderately enjoy it
tavm13 September 2014
This is now my fifth and final review in a row of a cheerleader movie having previously commented on The Cheerleaders, The Swinging Cheerleaders, Revenge of the Cheerleaders, and The Pom Pom Girls. Unlike the others, this one was filmed in New York State, not California. While The Cheerleaders had plenty of sex to qualify for an X rating, this one is definitely triple X territory with all the servicing! Debbie as played by innocently gorgeous blonde Bambi Woods is certainly a stunner and her scenes with a Mr. Greenfield (Richard Balla) have a perversely playful side to them that I found funny and sexy. I also liked the scenes involving Donna (Merril Townsend), her boyfriend Tim (Bill Barry according to Wikipidia or Paul Hughs according to this site but most likely Herschel Savage), and her librarian boss, Mr. Biddle (Jake Teague). The rest I either wasn't crazy about or weren't as excited about but I mostly liked what I saw. I rarely watch porno films since the kind of scenes in them do get repetitious but it was alright here most of the time. In summary, Debbie Does Dallas was fun when it was on Debbie and Donna, was not as much on anyone else.

COULD YOU GIVE ME 20 FOR THAT?
nogodnomasters22 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
There are three iconic adult movies. "Deep Throat," "Behind the Green Door," and this one. This one was sold to us with the idea that Bambi Woods, the star, was once an actual Dallas Cowgirl cheerleader. That was not the case, but we didn't find out until after they had our money, several times over. Richard Balla as Mr. Greenfeld is the lucky individual who acts out his cheerleader fantasy.

Indeed, the success of this film is due to the fact it plays heavily to the male fantasy. While many adult films do this, for some reason this one has captured it like no other film before or since. These include the library scene, record store (Arcadia Lake), shower scene and the horrible candle scene where Robin Byrd opens up to us to display the ugliest Virginia in all of porn. I was almost emotionally scarred. What saved me was the car wash scene...the dialog between two young ladies (Jenny Cole, Sherri Tart) who just came in from the rain and Mr. Bradley (David Pierce).

This is one of the big three that belongs in any classic adult film collection.

One of the best
chaosnbeer4 February 2004
Debbie Does Dallas is the alltime classic adult film of the golden age when porn was actually something more than tissue and lotion movies...well it still is a tissue and lotion movie but I actually enjoy watching these begining to end....because these films had something that today's adult films don't have...that is nostalgic and silliness and actual plots. People today despise porno like this because it has a plot and they just want to see the nudity , and thats a shame because the producers actually cared about the product back then. These were shot with the intention of proving that they could carry the banners as actual film makers rather than hacks who could shoot boring sex scenes for their own enjoyment rather than the audiences. Debbie Does Dallas is the top favorite because of it's over the top acting of Bambi Woods as the ditzy sweet blonde character , and the hillarious shopkeep of Mr.Greenfeld..hillarious dialogue and one of the best porno scores ever make this an all time top 10 classic..

Still Something Worth Cheering About
Nodriesrespect1 October 2009
Possessing by far the best known title of any adult film besides DEEP THROAT, the shrewdly alliterative DEBBIE DOES DALLAS has received more than its share of unfair criticism and facile snide remarks over the thirty year period since it first packed porno palaces to the rafters. Too often treated like the ultimate guilty pleasure even by those that do go public about liking it, the movie has been taken to task by "serious" critics and connoisseurs alike for being poorly made, pathetically acted and disparagingly low brow in its broad bathroom humor.

Like THROAT, DEBBIE's basically a single (dirty) joke premise stretched out to feature film length. Very much unlike THROAT however, the movie's ambiance is disarmingly sweet-natured and as close to outright wholesome as skin flicks ever got. Another aspect naysayers conveniently if unforgivably overlook is the infectious enthusiasm of its cupcake cast, virtually overflowing with certifiable carnal superstars and unsung fan favorites.

Now director "Jim Clark" – actually, former Screw magazine co-editor Jim Buckley – revealed himself as a bit of a one trick pony, his basic plot outline invariably consisting of dim but willing schoolgirls employing their natural charms to raise funds for a party, road trip or whatever. Such serviceable ploy effectively carried him through TEENAGE PAJAMA PARTY, LITTLE DARLINGS and YOUNG, WILD AND WONDERFUL, variations all on a very simple theme that nevertheless proved particularly resonant to the Middle American male psyche if their healthy box office receipts and subsequent VHS sales numbers are anything to go by ! Nothing could touch DEBBIE though, in a manner of speaking, which took the widely held cheerleader fantasy to unprecedented heights of popularity.

Elusive starlet Bambi Woods, who only did this and two sequels and whose present day whereabouts remain an active topic of wild guessing all over the worldwide web, heads the band of high school honeys who, with touching solidarity, need to make a whole lot of cash real soon if they're going to accompany their best friend, whose mean unseen parents refuse to stump for bus fare (boo !), as she's heading for the Lone Star State to try out for the "Texas Cowboy Cheerleaders" ! Buckley cannily removed all references to the Dallas Cowboys to avoid legal repercussions (it didn't work, proving there's no such thing as bad publicity) yet still stressed Woods' supposed status as one of their legit cheerleaders though she only got to audition, failing to make the team.

The girls soon pick up on the fact of life that men will pay through the nose to cop a feel of underage female flesh. Debbie gets a job at a sporting goods store run by horny Mr. Greenfield, played with eye-rolling relish by dependable Robert "Bolla" Kerman, but holds out till the end, effectively saving the best for last.

Thankfully, her loyal gal pals prove more forthcoming. Wide-eyed Christie Ford presides over the candle shop threesome with proprietors Mr. and Mrs. Hardwick, pretty cute as puns go, portrayed by stalwart "Mr. Nice Guy" Eric Edwards and future late night cable hostess Robin Byrd.

Rambunctious Rikki O'Neal, who played naughty to Annie Sprinkle's nice in Chuck Vincent's JACK 'N' JILL, turns up with endearingly awkward Jenny Cole (also in THE LAST SEX ACT with Erica Havens) to wash cars in the rain, only to be rear-ended by owner David Pierce, best remembered as positively vile "Mr. Sweet" from Roger Watkins' mesmerizing HER NAME WAS LISA.

Perky Merle Michaels tenderly blows impatient boyfriend Herschel Savage in the school library, inconveniently interrupted by dotty old Mr. Biddle (porn's resident senior citizen Jake Teague) who administers a sound spanking for the transgression. Gorgeous Georgette Sanders, Georgina Spelvin's nubile niece from Ron Sullivan's BABYLON PINK, has been playing doubles with tennis pro Peter Lerman ("Peter Morrison" on Buckley's GOOD GIRLS OF GODIVA HIGH) and that's exactly what she receives in the steam room, orally servicing both her employer and his buddy Ben Pierce, the cowboy from the group sex center piece in Chuck Vindent's BAD PENNY.

Sanders also lends a helping hand to shy inexperienced Arcadia Lake, the lovely exotic starlet who sadly passed away from an overdose in the early '90s, at the record store whose owner (lanky Tony Mansfield, the alluring cross-dresser with Sharon Mitchell in Gerard Damiano's ODYSSEY) has been pursuing her ever since she agreed to work there. For the record, the performers in the opening shower group grope, a rare non-pay for play set-up that's just the girls and their significant others, are Ford, Savage, David Morris (Marilyn Chambers' deflowering gardener from Stu Segall's INSATIABLE), ravishing redhead Kasey Rodgers from Bill Milling's BLONDE IN BLACK SILK, plus one shots Steve Marshall and Debbie Lewis.

Pretty people who seem genuinely hot for each other, that's what this movie has to offer in spades, which might seem like a primitive recipe for anyone unversed in adult entertainment but the bottom line for the genre's ardent aficionado. At a time when porn was making its bid for mainstream acceptance, generally toning down genital close-ups and cum shots, DEBBIE defiantly directed the audience's gaze back to crotch level with explicit, in your face monster shots, colorfully captured by cinematographer "Billy Budd", taking his pseudonym from Herman Melville's famous anti-hero.

Leavening this relentless cavalcade of carnality with admittedly (and intentionally) silly humor has rendered the whole endeavor surprisingly palatable – to the point of inoffensive – even for viewers who only occasionally dip into dirty moviedom. In a stroke of presumably insouciant genius, Buckley came up with THE brand name for "real world" reference to porn's halcyon days, the title turning up in casual conversation as well as movie dialog, spawning sequels, remakes – not to mention, sequels TO remakes ! – and…a celebrated off-Broadway stage musical ?! Thumbing her nose at detractors, Debbie's clearly still going strong, having achieved both notoriety and immortality. You go, girl !

Literally the best movie of all time in the universe
d-885204 June 2022
This movie is literally the best movie made of all time. I have watched it thousands upon thousands of times and it is the greatest defining factor of my life.

I first came upon it when I was just 7 years old, back in, i dont fuckin know, 1978 i guess, when my dad took me to the movie theater to see it with him. I, seven yearold me was absolutely entranced by the film. Although i did wonder why daddy had his jacket over his lap the whole time. Unfortunately mommy found out and she banned us from going there. For many years i repressed the memory until i turned eighteen and one of my high school friends showed me the film. I instantly fell back in love with the film and its butiful nubile cast and I have never ceased to enjoy it ever scince.

The amazing story, penned by horribly underrated creative genius Maria Minestra, revolves around a high school cheerleader named Debbie Benton (portrayed by Bambi Woods, one of the greatest actors of all time) and her friends as they try to raise money for Debbie, who has been picked to be a Texas Cowgirl, to go to Texas. Of course this being a porn film they have plenty of smokin hot sex along the way!!!

There is a shower orgy at the beginning of the film with two girlz anf 4 boys. Roberta has a three way with the candle shop owners, annie and some other girl idk wash mr. Bradleys car and have oral and anal sex, then Donna gives her boy friend blowjob in the library and they gets caught by the library owner Mr. Biddle and he spanks donna so that he doesnt teller her parents.

Lisa, working at the tennis court has sexy sex with hamilton and his bud ashly. Tammy is relucant to do it with the record store owner but lisa helps her during it. And last but not least Debbie does her boss, Mr Greenfield as the sports store. The latter scene is personally my favorite.

Jim Clark ingeniously directs the film, with scenes that greatly accentuate every attractive and intimate aspect of the human (especially female) body, portraying it rapt in the euphoric agonies of various forms of coitus. And the film does not just focus on the unabashed, shameless sexuality - it also delves into the lightly-treaded realm of plot, with plenty of classic and comedic dialogue to follow with it. Basically its' really good and you really ought to watch it!!!xd

I will give you an example of how important this film has been to my life. Every day when I was married I would spend 8 hours of my day sleeping, 8 hours at work and 8 hours watching Debbie Does Dallas on my VHS player in the basement. Sometimes I would get the wife and kids to join in but they never stayed down there very long for some reason. Eventually my wife got tired of me watching this film and she divorced me and took the kids. She also kicked me out of the house and I was lucky to keep my VHS player and my special coveted copy of Debbie Does Dallas which i have carried with me for 33 years now. Around the same time I was fired after being late to work for the 88th time because I accidentally watched Debbie Does Dallas for too long. So now I live in a dingy basement appartment and All I do all day is watch this great beautiful movie. I got a VHS player repairman to make it so that the movie plays on an endless loop even while I sleep.

And how do i feed myself you ask? Well i just get the guy on the first floor to do shoping for me and leave it at the door. I havent seen him I just call him on my flip phone.

So now i sit her in my basement apartment writing this review on a computer i stole from my neighbor while this film, Debbie Does Dallas, the greatest film of all time plays on forever in the background. I have everything I could ever need. Sometimes I get sad about how my old life ended but i reassure myself that all I need is Debbie Does Dallas and nothing else, except for oxygen. Lately my neighbor hasnt been answering the phone, i greatly fear that I will have to go up to ask him. Bambi Woods, my Goddess, and Richard Balla his Heavenly Majesticness please give me the strength and courage to perform this daunting task.

At under $10 the DVD is a great buy!
steph-12119 March 2002
The Original Debbie Does Dallas is far more of a movie than the modern versions, which like many of today's pornos are essentially a gallery of sex scenes strung together with a semblance of a plot. The Original very much plays on the innocence factor. The young, perky high school cheerleaders offer their 'services' to their teachers and bosses in order to raise money (seems like they're always trying to raise money.) The sex is a fulfillment of that teenage girls screwing older men fantasy. `Oh Mr. Greenfield, I'm not that kind of girl. Oh my Mr. Greenfield, you're so big!' The girls are all very attractive with wonderfully natural bodies. If you like looking at small, round breasts over and over again this is the movie for you. There are a ton of cutesy 'upskirt' and 'downblouse' camera shots.

The major flaws with the Original on DVD are the poor audio, and the complete lack of extras.

A Great movie for couples
stock_yard20002 July 2004
If there is any one adult movie for couples, this has to be it.

Silly plot coupled with amateur acting.

But a plot and acting are something you don't see in adult movies.

The girls actually seem to enjoy themselves as they find themselves in their various attempts to "earn" money.

And the final scene with Debbie being done by an older man.

And I got done during the movie as well.

Some parts were a bit boring, but overall, I would say that it is very watchable.

So, if you want to spice up your love life, get this movie.

My boyfriend and I highly recommend it.

Debbie Does Dallas

Well to clear things up, I knew her very well in NYC about 15 years ago. I know her real name(not Debbie Benton), she is not dead, plus that is the only movie she ever did. She is an awesome person. All other movies are out-takes, she only did the first one and only got 500$ for it. Trust me, I know her very good. She is alive and well. I spent many hours with her. She is quite awesome. Use to live in the East Village. Matter of a fact I am going down there to relive some old memories. Never saw the movie til after I met her. Saw it and yeap, that was her. She moved out of state and has her life together. Don't know where her supposed name came from. I of course am not going to put out her real name, out of support for her. If you believe this or not, is up to you, but is true.

This one hails from the "golden age" of adult films. It actually has a plot and contrary to what has been said by some, the girls are still kinda cute including the late Bambi Woods. The music for the film is one of the things that make it memorable. Listen to it and see if it doesn't get you worked up.

The candle shop scene is one of the best and I'm still in love with Roberta. Her other scene in the locker room was tremendous and I only wish she and Bambi had managed to be in the same scene. The library BJ scene is one of the best of its kind....that girl can...well, you know. I would suggest this film for couples who want some plot with their action.
