Thelma and Louise Go West
aimless-4618 May 2005
Imagine if "Thelma and Louise" had been shot in 1978 as a made-for-television movie and set in the wild west; emphasis on "made for television".

Karen Valentine plays a female New England reporter (insert Natalie Wood-"Great Race") who goes west. She teams with Sandra Will and they have a lot of adventures looking for Will's brother; who just happens to be Billy the Kid (Richard Jaeckel in a good performance).

Valentine gets to act spunky, like an assertive Gidget who I think she once played. She is very annoying. Both women run around in very tight pants which are more representative of 1978 than 1878. Hairstyles and language are also unauthentic; basically what a suburban Baptist Republican likes to think the west was like.

Sandra Will is the only reason to watch, she is very appealing in a well-scrubbed way and her acting is more believable than Valentine's. Too bad that her career did not really take off, especially when you consider the quality of the competition in the late 1970's.
