Once set up at the Max streaming service, the TV series Dead Boy Detectives, which is based on characters Neil Gaiman created for DC Comics in the pages of The Sandman issue #25, is now calling Netflix its home, having moved away from Max last year because it “doesn’t fit with DC executives James Gunn and Peter Safran’s plans for the Dcu.” The show premiered on April 25th (you can read our review Here) – and to mark the occasion, a new addition to the team here at JoBlo.com, Kyanna Mondezie, was given the opportunity to conduct interviews with several members of the cast: George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri, Kassius Nelson, and Yuyu Kitamura. You can hear what they had to say about their experience working on the show by checking out the video embedded above. Also interviewed were series creator Steve Yockey and showrunner Beth Schwartz.

Among the myriad reasons we could call the Criterion Channel the single greatest streaming service is its leveling of cinematic snobbery. Where a new World Cinema Project restoration plays, so too does Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight. I think about this looking at November’s lineup and being happiest about two new additions: a nine-film Robert Bresson retro including L’argent and The Devil, Probably; and a one-film Hype Williams retro including Belly and only Belly, but bringing as a bonus the direct-to-video Belly 2: Millionaire Boyz Club. Until recently such curation seemed impossible.
November will also feature a 20-film noir series boasting the obvious and the not. Maybe the single tightest collection is “Women of the West,” with Johnny Guitar and The Beguiled and Rancho Notorious and The Furies only half of it. Lynch/Oz, Irradiated, and My Two Voices make streaming premieres; Drylongso gets a Criterion Edition; and joining...

Considering everything that Brooke (Heléne Yorke) and Cary (Drew Tarver) have had to deal with on The Other Two so far, they should have a handle on how to handle some (fun) celebrity PR crises… right? That’s what TV Insider decided to find out when chatting with Yorke and Tarver about Season 3, which does see each of their characters having some form of success after living in the shadows of their famous brother Chase (Case Walker) and mother Pat (Molly Shannon). For example, Drew’s movie Night Nurse finally came out, and Brooke is taking steps to figuring out what it is she exactly wants to do with her life outside of the industry. So what would Brooke and Cary do if one of them went viral for sending a thirsty Dm to another celebrity? “It seems like something they would do,” Yorke admits, with Tarver adding, “You’d spin it as a positive.

There were great reggae bassists before him, and after, but more than any other instrumentalist, Robbie Shakespeare, in tandem with his drum partner and co-producer Sly Dunbar, defined the bass-centric approach of the genre’s modern era, from the roots-rocker sound of the Seventies to the digi-dub dancehall of the Eighties, Nineties, and beyond. His playing was so deeply grounded, its pulse felt biological, and so irresistible he became not just the go-to man for reggae musicians, but for anyone interested in seismic grooves, from Dylan and Mick Jagger to No Doubt and Simply Red.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Other Two Season 2.] Season 2 of the hilarious, must-watch comedy ends with the two members of the family who are usually categorized as the “The Other Two” finding success: Brooke (Heléne Yorke) is doing well as manager (and even has a non-family member client!) and Cary (Drew Tarver) is getting ready to start working on a movie, Night Nurse … just as the pandemic hits. Meanwhile, the others finally see how overworked Pat (Molly Shannon) is with her talk show, game show, and everything else, and Chase (Case Walker) lets his frustrations over not singing known. Executive producers Sarah Schneider and Chris Kelly discuss where Season 2 left everyone and begin looking ahead to Season 3. Will there be a time jump to move past the pandemic? Or will there be something with the family quarantined together? Sarah Schneider: We liked ending on a joke because we liked acknowledging that the world was...
