Catastrophic nonsense
paulijcalderon2 July 2017
A movie about nonsense that's nothing but nonsense. I've seen some good Finnish comedies in the past and I saw this with some relatives from Finland. They were all amazed by how bad it was. I mean, they couldn't believe it. So, it was honestly funnier seeing their reactions than anything in the movie itself. The basic premise is that a mailman tells a story about two gangsters and a failing scriptwriter. It sounded hilarious at first, but the execution is so lazy that it becomes an embarrassing experience. The scenes drag and drag to the point of it being boring. It's so overacted that I can't even tell if the actors were acting poorly on purpose or not. I can only find minor amusing moments, but most of them were unintentional.

It's a total catastrophic mess with little going on. I don't even understand how this got made. At least it's a good example of how not to make a movie. Vesa Matti Loiri who portrays the main character is usually a great comedic talent. Watch any other of his films and stay far away from this one.

Spede & Co. making one funny film!
uuno25w26 July 2001
'Tup-Akka-Lakko' is sequel to 'Koeputkiaikuinen ja Simon enkelit' in witch doctor Jyrä (Hämäläinen) invented test-tube-adult (Spede) who look exactly like matematition Mutikainen. When the test-tube-adults body emerged 'cause doctors mistake, voice moved living into Mutikainens body. And that is reason for many problems what happen to people in this film. After doctors invention is two pretty women (Halme and Raunio) and gangster Luigi (Loiri) with his henchman (Ahonen). Narrator of the film is a postman (Kinnunen) who tells the story housewifes with food-salery. One of them is not unfortunately nothing she looks like. There is also Mr.Härvelin (Salminen) who hires Mutikainen for inventor and then scriptwriter for a film, he suddenly wants to make. It has romance, violence and native culture presentation for a international markets. Most of them turns in to comedy.

Great Finnish name-actors make typical and funny performances all way long and ecspecially Loiri shows again, how greatly he makes different characters (in here we see also Uuno Turhapuro). Film has some short scenes, witch doesn´t have anything to do with the story Luigis aerobig-clock, Christmas card for men in submarine) but are still funny. Title of the film is also one that kind of subject. Jaakko Salo made great music according to Spedes whistle. This movie is 100 minutes of pure laughter, or at least giggle...
