A restaurant that was the subject of Kitchen Nightmares sued Gordon Ramsay. The actual episode was released more than a decade ago. However, thanks to a video promo released on Facebook, the restaurant sued Ramsay for making them look bad.
Here is who sued Ramsay and what happened in the lawsuit.
Restaurant Sued Gordon Ramsay
A New Orleans restaurant sued Gordon Ramsay for an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. The restaurant is called Oceana Grill and it didn’t just sue Ramsay once. It sued him twice. The episode was even removed from streaming and YouTube thanks to problems
The episode remains famous because it showed Ramsay throwing up based on what he found. He also found three dead mice in the restaurant during the episode. However, the company that owns Oceana Grill said, “None of the above-described events were real, but were contrived and orchestrated by defendants to manufacture drama for their show.

There was a marked tonal downshift between Nia Archives’s kinetic 2022 EP Forbidden Feelingz and its comparatively ruminative follow-up, Sunrise Bang Ur Head Against Tha Wall. The British singer and jungle producer’s first full-length release, Silence Is Loud, balances these varied tempos, though it’s still rhythmically driving throughout. Where Sunrise’s modified pacing and gentler tone opened up space for the music to turn inward, the new album mostly pushes forward in a way that jettisons its capacity for introspection.
The result is that Archives’s reflections sometimes want for passion. On “Nightmares,” she details her exasperation with a former lover as though she’s reading lines rather than bearing it all. And when Archives recounts her partner’s adequacies or shares her personal struggles, the observations are genuine but often make for inelegant scaffolding. “Blind Devotion,” for one, ends abruptly before the two-minute mark, while “Crowded Roomz...

This post contains minor spoilers for the "Star Trek: Lower Decks" episode "The Inner Fight."
In the latest episode of "Star Trek: Lower Decks," titled "The Inner Fight," a mystery stands on the brink of being resolved. Throughout the show's fourth season, audiences have glimpsed a mysterious white UFO traversing the galaxy, idly obliterating numerous vessels in its path. Its pilot is not revealed, and it doesn't look like any ship previously seen on "Star Trek." In "The Inner Fight," Captain Freeman (Dawnn Lewis) reveals that she still doesn't know anything about who might be controlling the UFO, but has learned details of its mysterious mission. At the very least, she knows the UFO will be attacking certain individuals in the Federation next, and it's up to her and her ship to track down the next target and protect him.

If you've ever seen a list of the spookiest "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" episodes, you've probably seen installments such as "Nightmares" or "Buffy vs. Dracula" regularly cropping up. It also seems that fans are pretty much united in their view that the scariest episode of "Buffy" is "Hush."
There's no doubt those grinning villains, known only as "The Gentlemen," were a powerful image, and perhaps the most iconic antagonists of the entire series. The concept of the episode, too, is pretty unsettling, with all the residents of Sunnydale losing their voices, leaving them unable to scream as The Gentlemen go about their diabolical mission of extracting human hearts.
But there's one episode of "Buffy" that remains truly haunting in a way that "Hush," or any episode for that matter, never quite was. This one doesn't necessarily have a memorable villain, but it's about as creepy an episode of the show as you'll ever see.

Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment is thrilled to be releasing Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story. The film will premiere exclusively on the Icon Film Channel from 2nd October 2023, with Special Collector’s Edition Blu-ray and Tvod/Est available from 6th November 2023. Shooting to super-stardom with his revolutionary portrayal of Freddy Krueger in the ‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ franchise – a moment without doubt as visceral to the horror genre as Chaney’s werewolf or Karloff’s ground-breaking realisation of Frankenstein’s monster – Englund has firmly earned his place in the pantheon of horror movie legends. The documentary features a host of horror icons including Robert Englund himself, as well as...

Thanks to the massive success of "Get Out," the last several years have seen an influx of Black horror films, bringing some much-needed racial diversity to a predominantly white genre. Latino horror has also been going strong as ever of late, with films like "Tigers Are Not Afraid" and "La Llorona" reaping critical accolades left and right. But what about Asian-American horror? No, the J-horror remake trend of the 2000s doesn't count, not least of all because most of those "Americanized" re-imaginings centered on white characters.

Review: I remember reading Robert Englund’s Autobiography when I was in college. It was a wonderful telling of Englund’s life and career and painted the picture of a humble thespian who just wants to perform. So I perked up when hearing they were creating a full-length documentary. Especially since Englund had lived a decade of life since the book had been released. To say that Englund is a god-like figure in the horror realm would be underselling it. He’s beloved by fans everywhere in a way that few actors manage to achieve.

When The Boogeyman arrives in theaters later this week, it will be the first feature-length adaptation of one of Stephen King’s oldest short stories. Written in 1973, “The Boogeyman” was first published in Cavalier magazine and then showed up in King’s seminal 1978 collection, Night Shift. The brief story finds a man named Lester Billings in his psychiatrist’s office, recounting how each of his three children were murdered in their bedrooms by a monster in the closet—the “boogeyman” of the title—before he himself comes face to face with the evil entity.
While “The Boogeyman” has served as the basis for a couple of short films, it’s taken 50 years for it to reach the big screen, perhaps because King’s story is only a few pages long, necessitating some expansion and invention for it to work as a feature film. Still, seeing such an old King tale...

The nightmarish and surreal bit of Internet folklore about a never-ending maze of empty fluorescent hallways known as the Backrooms is getting a proper film adaptation. A collaboration between four different production companies including A24, the film will be the feature-length product of 17-year-old Youtuber Kane Parsons. Roberto Patino, the showrunner of HBO Max's "Dmz" and a writer and executive producer of HBO's "Westworld," will pen the script. Shawn Levy's 21 Laps Entertainment, the production company behind "Stranger Things," as well as James Wan's Atomic Monster, which most recently produced "M3GAN," are also on board to finance the project. Pusha T is to coke references what Larry David is to absurd social situations: He finds new and interesting ways to revitalize disquieting things that should have jumped the shark a long time ago. There are only so many ways you can invoke that houseware/cocaine-prep staple, Pyrex, and talk about how you’re more unstoppable in the kitchen than Bobby Flay. But for 20 years now, King Push has made high art out of discussing the myriad ways he can cut a brick with more finesse than Michael Khan cuts a film — all with humor,...

The Twilight Zone now has three versions of the classic airplane horror story "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet." How do they stack up?
The following contains spoilers for The Twilight Zone Episode 1: "Nightmare at 30,000 Feet"
When news broke that CBS All Access would be rebooting The Twilight Zone with Jordan Peele, the Internet’s collective first reaction was “Great!” The second reaction was….”wait, what do you mean rebooting?”
As it turns out, the 2019 version of The Twilight Zone is a unique kind of reboot and reimagining. The horror anthology concept means that the show is able to bring writers in to try their hand at entirely original scripts like the Kumail Nanjiani-starring “The Comedian.” But there is also a huge back catalogue of classic Twilight Zone installments practically crying out to be remade in a modern context.

Pussy Riot unveiled two new videos protesting law enforcement and unjust imprisonment for their songs “КОШМАРЫ / Nightmares” and “Pong!”
The group’s intense “КОШМАРЫ / Nightmares” is a partial cover of Dina Vierny’s “Nightmares.” The animated video details harsh prison conditions. It begins with a pulsating strobe light mirroring the urgent call the group is making for the release of Russian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence.
The urgent “Pong!” depicts the group’s “Punk Prayer” protest interpreted as a series of vintage-styled video games.

While it may be hard to believe that less than a decade ago Nightmares was one of The most sought after, most-requested titles for re-release, after watching this 80s anthology it’s easy to see why. Very much part of the 70s and early 80s portmenteau film vogue, which gave us the likes of Trilogy of Terror, Creepshow and its sequel, The Twilght Zone and Cats Eye, Nightmares features four stories that riff on pre-existing themes:
Terror in Topanga is a take on the “killer is in the house” trope; whilst The Bishop of Battle plays on the perils of obsession and the early-80s belief that video games were “evil”. The Benediction is a quasi-religious version of Richard Matheson...

This past weekend I traveled up to the Northeast United States to check out Salem Horror Fest, a brand new horror festival whose mission is “to examine the themes of Fear and the American Experience within the horror genre.” With programming from September 21st–October 15th, Salem Horror Fest has featured film screenings and various live shows that examine horror in the context of significant American issues including race, gender, and sexuality. It looks to be having a hell of an inaugural year and based on my experience, I’d be very surprised if it didn’t come back again next year.
At the “Women with Guts” event on Saturday, we sat down for a screening of Friday the 13th Part VII – The New Blood (you might be aware that I’m rather fond of this film) and afterwards, I was lucky enough to sit down for a conversation with...

In regards to his filmic output, director Michael Winner was wildly inconsistent at his worst and wholly divisive at his best (and vice versa). The remarkable thing is that those two extreme opinions can be about the same film; some find the kinetic sleaze of Death Wish (1974) powerful and disturbing, others find its ham-fisted social grazing problematic and off-putting. But it was a big hit, so naturally Universal let him ride the satanic tide with The Sentinel (1977), a Good vs. Evil, Portal to Hell potboiler that warms this Fulci-loving heart three years before Lucio even set foot in New Orleans.
Given a limited release in January stateside, The Sentinel barely broke even on its $4 million budget, and the critics hated it, deeming it lurid, reprehensible trash. Which it is; but it’s also ridiculously entertaining and has a few truly haunting moments. Turns out Winner could do horror—and yet...

Like with any long-running slasher movie franchise, every horror fan has a favorite Nightmare on Elm Street sequel when asked. The most popular response is Dream Warriors, which, based on anecdotal evidence, many fans prefer even to the first film. Some like its follow-up, the Renny Harlin-directed The Dream Master, best. Very rarely, if ever, do Nightmare fans name the fifth installment, 1989’s The Dream Child, as their favorite. It’s the unloved orphan of the franchise, lacking even the novelty of Freddy’s Dead with its 3-D climax and the fact that it’s designed to end the series for good (even if Wes Craven’s New Nightmare would render said closure impotent just a few years later). For many, The Dream Child represents the franchise overstaying its welcome for one film too many before wrapping up. And, yes, the movie has its share of problems both in...

With a history as long and complex as Doctor Who has, each episode can become something of a trial for writers: acknowledging past adventures while simultaneously crafting a new and intriguing story.
Unfortunately, Doctor Who Season 10 Episode 3 really strayed too far into whole plot references to be altogether enjoyable for its own sake.
"Thin Ice" featured the Doctor and Bill visiting the Frost Fair in 1814 and discovering that there was an enormous creature under the ice, being fed people in order to produce fuel for the engines of London.
If this premise sounds vaguely familiar, it should.
In Doctor Who Season 5 Episode 2, "The Beast Below," the Doctor and Amy visited Starship UK and discovered that the "ship" was actually built on the back of a massive spacefaring creature which was being fed people...

By the early 1970s there had been a revival of interest in the format of anthology suspense/horror stories. This genre had been all the rage in the late 1950s and early 1960s with shows like "The Twilight Zone", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and "Thriller!" (hosted by Boris Karloff) attracting loyal audiences. "Twilight Zone" creator and host Rod Serling had two bites at the apple when he introduced "Night Gallery" as a TV movie in 1969 (giving young Steven Spielberg his first major directing gig) and then spun it off into a moderately successful weekly TV series. The early to mid-1970s also saw a major resurgence in horror-themed anthology feature films. The concept was hardly a new one for the big screen as the first major film of this type was "Dead of Night", released in 1945. Roger Corman oversaw some similarly-themed big screen anthologies in the early to mid-1960s,...

A haunted house film is a tough sell. No masked stalker, no creatures that eviscerate and certainly no zombies lurching down those shadowed halls. A single setting, a dark secret, a group of people terrified by something is usually your standard template, and even the best haunted house flick doth not stray from the formula. So the trick is to convince the viewers once you get them inside – something that the low on budget, high on conviction, and seldom talked about The Evil (1978) accomplishes admirably.
Barely distributed in May of ‘78 by Roger Corman’s New World Pictures, The Evil was made for $700,000 Us and came and went very quickly. The filmmakers complained about the paltry distribution, but I’m sure Corman turned a profit somewhere down the line – he usually did. So from the modest budget, to the generic sounding title (why not just call it Horror Movie?) to the not exactly topical sub genre,...

Welcome back to This Week In Discs! Nightmares (Scream Factory) A woman goes out for cigarettes on the same night a violent lunatic escapes from a nearby asylum, and she crosses paths with something far deadlier than lung cancer. A videogame-loving teenager (Emilio Estevez) is forced into a life and death battle when his favorite game explodes into the real world to play him. A priest (Lance Henriksen) suffering a crisis of faith finds himself doing battle with a devilish, driver-less pickup truck. A family discovers they’ve got a big rat problem. This early ’80s horror anthology doesn’t get talked about a lot, but it’s actually a solidly fun quartet of supernatural tales. Chapter one plays off a common urban legend, but it executes the story with real suspense. Chapter two is fun-enough, but it works best as a precursor to the following year’s superior The Last Starfighter. Chapter...

With the holidays finally upon us, the home entertainment releases are starting to slow down a bit. Thankfully, the good folks at Scream Factory have us genre fans’ backs though, as they’ve got two great Blu-rays coming out this Tuesday to tide us over for a bit: The Brain That Wouldn’t Die and Nightmares (a film I loved as a kid).

The Brain That Wouldn’t Die (Scream Factory, Blu-ray)
Strangely relevant in today's ethically challenged world, this movie presents a truly psycho surgery case and is "one of the great sci-fi sleaze classics" (Starlog).
