- The young boy is kidnapped at gunpoint and is obviously terrified as (the older) Martin holds a cocked pistol to his head and threatens to shoot him as the police try to talk him out of taking the boy.
- Another boy is similarly threatened and he pleads with his father while the father is helpless to rescue the boy. Children watching this movie would empathize with the boy, who is in a desperate situation where his parents are powerless.
