- Narrator: Springtime in Greenland. Soapy water runs from windows and walls and fences and automobiles, and spills into the bays. Beside the grove, by the river, little girls dress their dolls in latest Spring fashions, while little boys unwrap their baseball gloves and exercise their newly formed pockets.
- Narrator: Ah, Spring time, it's a season of love. No one is beyond its powerful spell and all the young of Greenland are out and about, doing what comes naturally. All, that is... except for one.
- [Nick is shown, sitting alone]

- Narrator: The Parade has come and gone for another year... but that's no reason to be sad. There will always be a Springtime in Greenland.
- Barbecue Party Members: It's Corny Blower! It's Corny!
- [Corny's car engine and music can be heard loudly as he pulls into the driveway. The others wait for him to come around to the backyard]
- Father: That son of a gun!
- [Corny still hasn't appeared]
- Father: That son of a gun!
- Barbecue Party Members: It's Corny!
- [He appears on the roof with two cases of beer]
- Father: That son of a...
- [Corny tosses a case down to the father, who catches it]
- Barbecue Party Members: Jump! Jump!
- [the crowd encourages Corny to jump into the pool below. He jumps and the girls all cheer]
- Corny Blower: Hey! You play!
- [Corny yells for Nick to join a game of "PIGS" in the pool, but Nick just stares blankly back at him while eating his hot dog]
