Trautman: John where are you going?
Rambo: I don't know.
Trautman: You'll get a second medal of honor for this.
[Rambo looks over at the rescued POWs]
Rambo: You should give it to them. They deserve it more.
Trautman: You don't belong here, why don't you come back with me?
Rambo: Back to what? My friends died here, and a piece of me did too.
Trautman: The war, the whole conflict may have been wrong, but damn it, don't hate your country for it.
Rambo: Hate? I'd die for it.
Trautman: Then what is it you want?
Rambo: I want, what they want, and every other guy who came over here and spilled his guts and gave everything he had, wants! For our country to love us as much as we love it! That's what I want!
Trautman: How will you live, John?
Rambo: Day by day.
- Alternate versionsGaurav Arts, the film's distributor in India, had cut some of the most violent shots in the film in 1985 in order to receive an 'Adults Only' rating from India's censors board. Among the scenes trimmed were Rambo being tortured in the leech-infested water, Rambo being tortured through electrocution, Rambo's attack on both Podovsky and Vinh's men near the end etc. The cuts were finally restored in 1993 when the film was submitted to be re-rated by India's censors board.

American armed forces won in Vietnam, that is a fact: they won every major battle with huge supremacy. The Green Berets made a difference, they were the most successful military unit during the war and it is not a secret that they were extremely superior in military skills, patriotic fervor, ability, stamina, intelligence and courage!!
The Marines, the Rangers, the Navy SEALs (who killed 200 enemy for each self casualty, visit NavySEAL.com) and the Air Cavalry of the Army... They absolutely SMASHED the Viet Cong and the North Vietnam Army, but at home, America was loosing...
America won in the battlefield, but lost at home. The leftist, pro-communism mainstream media plus Military traitors (like Mr Kerry), and other America haters ( like Jane Fonda) turned out to be the real ENEMY.
North Vietnam saw the weak point of America and they exploited that.
When America withdrew from Vietnam, a totalitarian regime was established and millions of innocent South Vietnamese people were brutally tortured and assassinated. Fortunately, thousands of South Vietnamese people could reach American soil, and they now live in freedom in that great country called America.
However, hundreds of MIA's and PoW's were still in Vietnam after the war. That's why Rambo is sent to verify their situation and take photographs...........
