I watched this film some years ago (mainly on account of Wendy Hughes, who rarely turns in anything but a creditable performance!) and held it up to be one of the better drama/thrillers I'd seen for a while.
Actually made as a telemovie (the source of its original release), the film gained theatrical screening in the U.S. and certain other countries I believe, under its aka: OLD ACQUAINTANCES.
Wendy Hughes plays your ordinary everyday housewife (so one is led to believe) who has her violent husband Howard, committed to a psychiatric center following his latest outburst. Howard (Moir) is finally released after treatment and seeks to re-kindle a relationship with his wife. Now Jenny is REALLY not to happy about this, fearing he may have ulterior motives behind his new "Mr Nice Guy" image. Come to that, is she herself all that she is cracked up to be?
Plays out well and is well worth a look!
