Revealing mistakes: In the opening segment, Mona (Sandrine Bonnaire) is lying in a ditch in the vineyard. The character Mona is supposed to be dead, but if you look at the actress's neck you can clearly see a neck artery visibly pulsing.

One of the most thought provoking films I've ever seen.

This film starts out with the 'heroine' (played by Sandrine Bonnaire) being found dead in a ditch somewhere in the French countryside. And the film tells the story of how she got there. This story has a very striking and unique view of what it is to have 'freedom'.

My only gripe about this otherwise superb film was the occasional cumbersome injection of 'documentary style' into a film which was otherwise told in the 3rd person. This only served to disrupt the 'flow' of the film. Despite this, I still consider it among the best films I have ever seen.
