- Vincent Terranova is an agent with the Organized Crime Bureau infiltrating dangerous criminal organizations, struggling to remain true to himself while becoming close to the criminal leaders he is sworn to bring down.
- Vinnie Terranova (Ken Wahl) does time in a New Jersey penitentiary to set up his undercover role as an Agent for the O.C.B. (Organized Crime Bureau) of the United States. His roots in a traditional Italian city neighborhood form the underlying dramatic base throughout the series, bringing him into conflict with his conservative mother Carlotta (Elsa Raven) and other family members while acting undercover as a syndicate enforcer. The segments, which ran several shows each, included in-depth and empathetic characterizations of the players on both sides of the law. Scenarios include the underbelly of the recording industry, protection rackets, international arms dealing, foiling white supremacist plotters, uncovering a government conspiracy to set up a compliant new head of state in a third-world country, and Vinnie's final reconciliation with his Italian mother and her new husband, the purely legendary Mafia figure Don Rudy Aiuppo (George Petrie).—Barlow Pepin <mbpepn@sbcglobal.net>
- Vinnie Terranova (Ken Wahl) works for a branch of the Justice Department called the Organized Crime Bureau or O.C.B., that targets organized crime. Vinnie's assignment is to infiltrate organized crime, so he is sent to a prison for eighteen months, and everyone thinks he is a criminal, including his mother Carlotta (Elsa Raven), which ticks him off. His boss is Frank McPike (Jonathan Banks), and Daniel Benjamin "Lifeguard" Burroughs (Jim Byrnes) is his link to him and his counsellor if he ever needs one. After three seasons, Ken Wahl left the show, so Michael Santana (Steven Bauer), the U.S. Attorney who helped send Vinnie to prison for his cover, was tapped to replace him. Not long after helping Vinnie, he made a mistake and was disbarred. Three years later, Vinnie was investigating something and called Michael for help, and later Vinnie disappeared, so Frank tried to find him, and the last thing he did was talk to Michael, so Frank went off to see him. They did not find him, and Frank asked Michael to join the O.C.B.—<rcs0411@yahoo.com>
