Sex & Nudity

  • There is partial nudity towards the beginning. Women are seen taking showers while a younger boy spies on them. The side of one woman's breast and nipple can be briefly seen. It goes by very quick, blink and you will miss it. In a number of scenes, men are seen barechested in a non-sexual manner.
  • Bob tells Ritchie he's uptight because of his "sperm pressure" on account of him being a virgin. He says this just to spite him.
  • Bob takes Ritchie to a club where there are lots of women. It is implied that they are prostitutes.
  • At night outdoors, a young man and woman are kissing. They are then seen lying down having sex. Afterwards, they discuss the fact she was a virgin. No nudity. She then lives with him and becomes pregnant out of wedlock. One night, he kicks down their bedroom door and it's implied he rapes her. He claims later he has to almost "rape her" to have sex. Man makes a crude joke about cunnilingus.
  • While dumping garbage, Bob runs with a large carrot at a man and shouts "Eat It!" This is done in a playful way.

Violence & Gore

  • In one of Ritchie's dreams, two planes crash down on a school playground and kill a young boy. His death is not shown. However later, his foot can be seen sticking out under the wreckage.
  • Bob starts a fight with a man and then the whole theater gets on it, bob is seen with blood on his face the scene after.
  • Rosie throws a glass cup at bob and it shatters.
  • Two men get into a fight. They punch and smack each other. Nothing too violent, no blood is shown. Ritchie dreams of two planes colliding into each other and the explosion is seen.

Profanity

  • Two uses of the f-word. Both are said by Bob and in a non-sexual manner.
  • Mild language and profanity. Uses of sh*t, f*ck, ass, etc. But not a great deal. Biblical profanity also pops up such as Oh my God, and goddamn.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • It's implied that Bob is an alcoholic and mild drug addict.
  • Bob Keane gives Ritchie a shot of vodka to calm himself down on the plane.
  • There are some scenes with people smoking in the movie. Illegal drugs are smoked.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Ritchie has a recurring dream of two planes colliding mid air and crashing. Killing his friend, in a later portion of the dream, we see his foot sticking out underneath plane wreckage as Ritchie screams in horror. He then wakes up. This is probably the most intense part of the film, made more intense by the fact that it really happened.
  • The scene where Ritchie, Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper get on the plane that took their lives could be quite emotional. As well as the reaction from the family afterward.
  • In one scene, Bob makes attempts to get into his house to see his newborn daughter. His mom and wife attempt to keep him out as he is intoxicated. Bob then kicks down his door and throws a bottle through the window screaming at them.
  • Bob comes off as very domestic, controlling and mildly violent toward his wife and occasionally family.
  • The final scene can be quite emotional to some. Dreaming of planes crashing and pieces about to land on characters (could be intense or shocking for some).
