Sex & Nudity

  • During the introduction there are various people shown around the city. One featured item is a girls butt in bikini bottoms.
  • A man sings on stage shirtless and wearing tight pants with a leather chastity belt-like accessory that draws attention to his groin.
  • A woman's bare shoulders are visible from the back as she is kissed on the face and neck by a shirtless man. The scene ends as they lay back on a bed, implying sex.
  • A man walks up to a woman in public and begins caressing her face. Her boyfriend yells at him and another man pulls him away.
  • A teenage boy takes a bubble bath with only his chest is visible. No sexual context.
  • A man and woman begin making out in the back of a car, but are interrupted.

Violence & Gore

  • A woman is chased by a large barking dog, but gets away as the dog rips her dress.
  • Dwayne is shot by an arrow and falls into an amp. The arrow impales the amp and the vampire is electrocuted and his head explodes.
  • Only a few brief moments of violence until the climactic battle scene, where it gets really bloody and intense. This is why it was given an R rating.
  • After ripping the roof off of a car, a group of vampires kill the two people inside offscreen.
  • Michael is attacked by a dog and his hand is wounded, the wound is quite gory with bite marks and blood visible.
  • A group of vampires attack a several people around a campfire. David sinks his teeth into a mans head as blood sprays everywhere. The others kill by tearing heads apart and ripping chunks out of faces, which is very gory and disturbing. The bodies are then thrown in the fire.

Profanity

  • The middle finger gesture is used once.
  • 'B*stard' is said once.
  • '*ss' is said twice.
  • 'H*ll' is said three times.
  • 'Sh*t' is said five times.
  • 'Godd*mn' is said once.
  • The Lord's name is taken in vain, including 'Jesus' said twice and 'Christ' said at least once.
  • A few instances of minor name-calling and insults.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Vampires drink what appears to be wine, but is actually blood.
  • David offers Michael a joint; Michael is not seen smoking, but later seems to be high.
  • People drink wine with a nice dinner.
  • People on the boardwalk are shown smoking. David smokes cigarettes two times.
  • Seeing what looks like marijuana growing in the garden, Michael and Sam make motions referring to smoking marijuana.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A man suddenly screams and runs in terror, but the scene ends.
  • Several jump-scares.
  • Many violent on screen deaths.
  • Rated R for strong violence and bloody images.
  • The several violent and gory moments can be frightening.
  • In the second half of the movie, vampires with long nails, red eyes, and fangs attack humans.
  • The vampires die in disturbing ways such as causing sinks to overflow with blood as they explode.

  • Max is impaled by a stake and blows up in the fireplace.
  • Marko is impaled by a stake and blood sprays all over the place.
  • Paul falls into a bath full of garlic and holy water. His skin starts falling away and the water turns bloody; his skeletal corpse briefly rises from the water. Blood begins to spray from all the pipes round the house, the sinks and toilets explode with blood pouring out.
