Sex & Nudity

  • If there is any nudity (like someone's pants accidentally falls down Sewell as part of their underwear) it is heavily censored and is played for comedy. This is a kid friendly show so there shouldn't be any cleavage shown.
  • Depends on the era. During the Saget era (1989 - 1997), it was clean family fun. Afterwards the show took a turn for "Bey"/"Lake"-like sex, albeit edited unlike those shows.
  • Men's private part are blocked. Mild sexual references.

Violence & Gore

  • There is one particular Halloween-themed episode which centers on horror and gore and has slightly stronger violence.
  • Multiple scenes of someone getting harmed in the location of the private parts.
  • Lots of accidents scenes are shown every episode.

Profanity

  • Depends on the era. The Saget era (1989 - 1997) was wholesome and clean. The later episodes become more "Bey"/"Lake"-like and increase the profanity and obscene gestures. Albeit edited unlike those shows.
  • Cinemax content advisory for the Saget era: rated TV-PG (no ratings reason bumper needed as the show was only adult oriented but no objectionable material was on the show). For the post-Saget era, dependant. Early episodes: TV-PG for adult language (AL) and adult content (AC). Later on, TV-14 for adult language (AL) and adult content (AC), and sometimes TV-14-DL.
  • "God" is sometimes used as a curse word indicative of surprise. Crap, damn, hell, and ass are also sometimes used. Bleeps are used in some episodes.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Older episodes of the Bergeron era featured jump scares. Screamer Pranks in this case, one of them even being shown full screen, which will definitely scare some younger viewers. Some of the segments throughout the Bergeron era are also a bit unsettling, one consisted of a Turkey coming to life, which might scare some younger viewers although it's all played for laughs. Some of the accidents that occur during the video might be unsettling for some viewers. Otherwise, it's all pretty much comedy.
