This picture was one of fifty Australian films selected for preservation as part of the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia's Kodak / Atlab Cinema Collection Restoration Project.
Writer-director Ray Argall developed the screenplay for around seven years before the movie was made.
The film's cast rehearsed for four weeks immediately before principal photography started.
The movie's stars Ben Mendelsohn and Frankie J. Holden both also appeared in the same 1990 year's The Big Steal (1990).
The film was nominated for two AFI Awards, Best Actor - Frankie J. Holden, and one won for Best Director - Ray Argall.
